Btw it takes him so long to process things we ask and command because of the encryption Anki wanted to put insdide Vector. Amazon Echo and Google Voice processes our voices different by a recording, Anki makes it to where the processor inside Vector converts our voice into words, and then Vector processes the words instead of our voice. This is part of the encryption process to help reassure us that nobody is recording or listening in on us. It is the same exact thing for Vector's camera. Given this implemented technology, I'm not sure if Vector will get any quicker with answering us because it all depends on how quickly he can internally convert and decipher our voice. Unless Anki releases an option of us understanding the possibilities of "No Encryption" and we can just turn on or off the encryption process to make him quicker with responses. Which I think they should do anyway because I'd rather him be more responsive than worried about someone recording me say, "Vector whats the temp outside??" or complain to myself about how much homework sucks.

I could see vector being used as a good security system also. Like if you set it to "Guard Robot Mode" or something, it can do surveillance while your gone, and if it catches someone breaking in to your home, it could take a picture discretely, and send it to your phone with a message that goes "Security Alert!" So you can alert the authorities!

Imagine command "Hey Vector, we need to secure our home" and then Roomba with Deagle comes out

Too much watching of vector videos makes me want to sell all my gadgets just to get enough money to buy one vector!!! 😂

If buying for the kids I would go for a Cosmo. Tons of games to play with cozmo. My kids love him. I might get a vector for the assistant side.

We had bought one:) It has problems with Wi-Fi connection) And we thought it might explore all around him and will not start it again. But no, each time he starts it again and again((( All other things we start exploring with him:)

I’d like to have more games for vector. I returned it and got Cozmo. Much more fun. But they could add all those work games they are just programs. And sell extra cubes.

Hey! I know im 2 years late but i have a question. So i had vector for awhile now and eversince we changed the battery for vectors cube he never lights it up anymore. the light works but he wont light it up..

Hello, First congratulate for your videos, they are really fantastic and fun. I have a question. I would like to know if in the Vector App you have a programming interface per block like Cozmo Code Lab? I have also observed that some users who have vetor have had problems recognizing voices. I do not know if I'm wrong but it seems that Vector is not as animated and glorious as Cozmo, he looks more coarse and more usent. It seems that Vector does not play as much or uses his cube. Thanks for your videos, it continues like this I love it and I'm hoping to have my vector soon. a greeting

Among all the companion bots this one is my favourite. Kind of reminds me of wall-e. However, with all that connectivity and moving about I wonder how much of a spy this thing can be. I mean we already greatly suspect our mobile phones this is like a mobile phone with character and on wheels. In any case what an amazing piece of tech.

Great Video! I was wondering if Anki will equip Vector with three cubes like Cozmo. Cozmo is actually more interactive than Vector! There are SO MANY cool games to play with Cozmo. Everyone keeps saying that Cozmo is for kids and Vector is for adults. I Disagree. Us Adults enjoy playing games too! Having Vector is like having a cat. Having Cozmo is like having a dog! Vector is more autonomous with less personality than Cozmo. Maybe in 2020 Anki will release another robot that combines the best traits of both. Seems like Anki is reading “Apple’s” play book.. and will continue to release robots with minimal upgrades. If it wasn’t for the reliance on an app, Cozmo would be a better product. At the moment. Vector is a smartphone on treads! Your thoughts?

I'm just wondering, does it really have an ai intelligence? It just doesn't look like he can think but it looks like it is programmed to just do what there is on the app. I'm asking because I would like to buy it but I don't know if it really is Ai and it can be a friend for when for example I'm programming in my room or he's just programmed and looks like he's an ai intelligence but he actually isn't. And also, does it understand what I say? Or again, it is just programmed to react in some random ways? Sorry for my bad english but I'm Italian.

AI is just for promotion only, of course is not still self learning like a human, everything is on program and their developer program update. But it still impressive.

Do you have to pay a particular internet site or use the one already in use I have Spectrum. Will I be charged a separate fee to use an billed for it? Do I need special devices for use or is any cellphones phone Or computer okay [I also use Kindle to read Amazon books online etc] with internet access used? Is this little fella expensive? Where can I get it?

My Anki Vector will be arriving today. My question is: What is Vector's capacity for learning? Will I be able to teach it how to recognize and repeat letters of the alphabet via flashcards? And if so, will he be able to remember them (as he does with faces) and repeat them back to me with, or without a prompt? This is something I will be testing on my own. Stay tuned for the results.

I legit just thought of this. Vector is the child of Wall E and Eve. Think about it. Eve's eyes, Wall E's form of locomotion and he looks like a little garbage truck. Makes me wanna get it even more

Thankfully I got mine last year. It was a late birthday/early Christmas present from my Brother. I was genuinely surprised I got it, since it had been off the market for quite some time. Yet even though you have to pay a subscription each year for all functions unlocked, it's still worth the money. I also happened to find a Romo robot, which requires attaching an iPhone to it for $19AU at a local Antique and Curio shop here in Australia, and earlier, a Sphero 2.0 for $25AU from my local Tender Centre. I mean, that would have cost $200AU to get brand new, and I was able to find one that it's previous owner got for a Christmas Present. Talk about lucky!

It is a real pity Anki is shutting down!
