Having good ankle mobility and the ability to dorsiflex your foot is crucial for performing squats and other exercises like lunges with an adequate range of motion. Three of my favorite exercises - squat rack split stance on the box, kneeling split stance, and split squat. For each exercise, I like doing two to four sets with 6 to 12 reps per set. While doing each rep, I hold for five seconds. These exercises can help you improve your ankle mobility and enhance your overall leg workout.
