If you watch this video you will see that Salinero was incapable of performing a square halt , especially at the beginning of the Kur ! It is obvious that Anky uses methods of Hyperflexion or Rollkur , because her horse is very tense and hence cannot halt properly. Nevertheless, Anky is still a four time Olympic Gold medallist , and a 9 time world champion , I respect her regardless of all the controversy that surrounds her reputation. We still love you Anky !!!
I am also not sure why Anky used already 19 yo Salinero, he clearly was not up to it, and also his left hind leg was bugging him throughout the program, making extended gaits impossible... poor old chap, it is sad to see this, especially after their breathtaking performance in the same program in WC 2006. Does anyone know what happened to other horses of Anky: Painted Black and especially Krak C? Surely they could do better than Salinero here, I agree that he was over scored for this program.
Meh, i just thought hed seen his better days. He still wont halt at the beggining of the test, but he never has, i should think that would give an immediate impression of tension. Great horse though, very correct, maybe not as flashy as MT, but hes scooped medals despite the contraversial training methods, which i cant make my mind up about.... still, lovely horse...
@CrazyForLucky I mean I beg to differ that his hind end is disengaged, i dont agree with rolkur though, i just think he really doesnt look that bad as you all are saying
@dressagelover234 - wow. sos for giving an educated opinion..... anky can ride, i didnt say she couldnt, im not up there doing what shes doing because i do eventing...not dressage XD and thirdly...if youd read the comment, i mainly stated that i thought hed seen his better days...hes been on the block a while now

is it me or did he look really touchy with his (if you are looking him in the eye) right hind especially at the piaffe, he was lifting it really high and twitching it a little and wasnt doing that with the other. And personally I dont know much about rolkur but you were saying it disengages his hind end and i beg to differ.
sag mal sind wir hier im karnevalszelt oder bei der EM ?! ziemlich unmöglich diese kirmes-kürmusik. die muss ja echt tonnen in der hand haben bei dem pferd. also da ist wahrhaftig was schief gelaufen in der anlehnung!
I agree with you on this, he just looks clumsy. Idk if it's his long ears and choppy movement, but he looks like a clown to me. I also agree that he is not totally engaged, his neck may be arched, but his back is flat.
I agree with osplick, anyone who thinks that dressage is cruel aint no nothin... you ppl who think you know so much about riding cant even spell the word 'bit' right. Beside has you ever tried to get the correct flexion and bend that is neccesary in a test without a bit...? Pretty hard i reckon.

Salinero it's beautiful like ever and this kur it's also the same of the Athens Olympic Games 2004....... But I hate Rollkur method...Classical dressage only way!!
als wenn edward gal keine rollkur macht. ich glaube es macht so ziemlich jeder in dem hohen dressursport rollkur. nur eben nicht öffentlich, so wie anky. man sollte da nicht nur auf eine bestimmt person zeigen. der drssursport wird echt immer schlimmer. wie war das noch? harmonie zwischen pferd & reiter? gymnastizierung? es war einmal...!

elle monte avec trop de force...j'aime pas, au début quand je ne me connaissais pas en dressage elle etait reine pour moi, mais comparée avec E.Gal et son Totilas, il est evident que ce soit lui le meilleur, il est leger et delicat avec ses aides c'est tres agreable a voir, Anky, au contraire, j'aime pas la regarder elle est raide et abuse de ses renes..;voila, a chacun son oppinion
i have to say horses are intelligent BUT they want to do anything and yes she is riding rollkur... ad horses want to do anything i have ridden a horse who does rollkur And they try theyr best and doanything you want because they are scared of more hurt and thats why they do it and if they dont do the Spor will come into their sides and that is very very painful

Geschmacklos! Ja, so unterschiedlich kann eine Meinung sein. Die Kürmusik ist grandios. Sein starker Trab passt nicht zur Musik- da die Action fehlt. Aber sie ist und bleibt ein Genie was Harmonie und auf den Punkt passende Kürmusik angeht. Da sind soviele andere Kürmusiken - welche nicht einmal den Ansatz eines Ohrwurms haben. Weil die letzte Verschmelzung von Musik und Reiten fehlt.

This performance was nowhere near as good as Adelinde or Gal's performances with Parzival or Totilas. Salinero looked to me a little worn, and the performance was the same as it has been for the past few years... -_- how boring. again we see to much negative tension in salinero with his panic attack from the first salute, look at Totilas, he has positive tension..its moving him forward and he looks willing and like hes enjoying it. Salinero looks a bit "ohh...this again...yikes!" ? my opinion :)
Don't even think about saying more. Salinero and Bonfire we're THE horses for the dressage. Like the others said, dressage has moved on, the old dressage horses won't be there anymore. The New generation takes their places till they get older.
I agree... but no one can deny he was an amazing dressage horse.. i just think he is nearing his time.. and co no longer compete with the younger horses coming in.
No, salinero might not have the knee action like totilas or parzival but anky achieves the "oness" with him and looks more in sinc with her horse than anyother

No, then its not important to ride a horse correctly, I broke my leg 8 weeks ago and its hard to ride now, my horse was riding very bad, she did rollkur, and wasnt riding for 3 years now shes 22 and its very hard to get it away.. and if you only ride for dressage, it isnt riding, i ride dressage, woods everything and now i know whats riding is, i watched my friend, she isnt good at all, because she wanted to ride dressage
look, she how she uses her spurs, it hurts you can see, i am freetime rider, and i think its scared to see the horses in dressage, you dont see it, you can only see it by the look in the eyes of a dressagehorse, my horse ever wants to be perfect at all so she dont shows if she dont likes it but i can see it and dont tell me a horse have fun at rollkur or anything like that, a rider is good, if it can rides withot spurs etc even without saddle or anything only the horse.. thats good riders
does she every use a different freestlye? this ones gettin kinda old. and when she used it in the 2006 WEG Frestyle, i think that Andreas Helgstrand was a better rider and he had a better horse
@TwilighterStacie Don't judge all of us because of a few bad eggs. I have been riding dressage for over 10yrs. You know there is always people who think they are better. I have met quite a few jumpers with an attitude as well.....

Anky is dutch just like me, but l like dressage better without spurs and hyperflexion [if you don't know what this is search it up], not saying that she's doing that Anky knows how to ride There are times people hurt the horse Yes that happens But the horse will let you know when you do that like for example, during the jumping, if a horse doesn't wanna jump, he wont, it's as simple as that, [ yes animals do everything for humans, but if they don't want something they wont do it] l've been with horses my whole life, l'm 20 now. l'm very against spurs, l don't like them.[ people dont even realize how bad they actually hurt it's not necessary at all a few friends of mine do dressage with no spurs, and not holding the horses neck to tight That's a lot better, animals do everything for us, you need love trust and patience and you'll come very far
