Hi Ann, what a open honest interview, that brought me back to the Sacred Heart and all the wonderful times we had. I was called Patricia Durkan then, and although I often talk about the different world I came from, it is a million miles away from the life I have made for my family in England. My friends have no comprehension. I was also from a family who were against violence, and I remember the time of the hunger strikers, so well, it was a very confusing time in the history of the UK, and my children have no real understanding of the kind of conflict we lived with, I thank God for it. When I go back to Newry, I can see the progress you have all made, and congratulate you all on the community spirit to build out of a society steeped in violence and division. Thank you
Just watched this interview again , I think I watched it about two years ago and for some reason , I found to urge to watch it again . I believe that the Covid lockdown has left me searching for some hope for the future and to be honest I think that the honesty , integrity and sincerity that this woman had should be an example for everyone who needs a rock to cling throughout this difficult time.
Just watched this again, 1 year since Ann died. I've heard the same things said by many different people, but something about the way Ann delivers it is just so..touching. It's the little personal details she describes that say more about "that time" than history can.
