Absolutely wonderful Anna Shumarina's rendition of the Dulcessime solo. She is able to hit the very high notes Orff imposed on the Soprano/mezzo soprano. I have heard many versions where the soprano is unable to project the power that the Dulcessima requires in Orffs Cantata Carmina Burana (or in English: Songs from Benediktbeuern). Anna does it easily and with passion and strength.
Anna Shimura mit einer solchen Feinheit stimmlicher Akrobatik ohne jede Anstrengung in den höchsten Höhen. Colin Davis, mit dem die CARMINA als Chorsänger aufzuführen ich die Ehre hatte, wäre wohl genauso entzückt gewesen wie ich. Er durfte diese Sopranistin leider nicht mehr erleben. Aber vielleicht hat er sie aus dem Musiker-Himmel schon entdeckt.
