Why should she retire? She's doing what she loves and is still relevant. She's also a rude person, but she's definitely relevant. You can't teach style. Either you have it or you do not.
@@Kwesi-Nimako Tim Gunn has said multiple times that she's rude and I believe him. As the result she basically cancelled him from anything she has any control over....including the Met Gala. Seriously? The Met Gala without Tim Gunn? Ridiculous. Lifetime ban for calling Wintour on the carpet about her rude behavior to people.
Even though i'm not a big fan of american Vogue since around 2010 i must say that i wish Anna will stay the editor-in-chief of this gigantic publication forever! Vogue issues from 1999 to 2004 are still my absolute favorites! She gave us all so much in terms of aesthetics she brought to magazine by working with such top masters of their craft as Penn, Meisel, Testino, Tonne Goodman, Jonathan Van Meter, Grace Coddington, Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Camilla Nickerson, Vicki Woods, Craig McDean and on and on and on. And simply by being such amazing advocate for all the best you can get in this industry! Right! I stopped subscribing after they put Kim Kardashian on the cover. That's when I realized I was not target audience anymore and off I went to Harper's Bazaar.
I met Anna Wintour once. Very nice little lady! fact: she was visiting Meryl Streep, and they know eachother well, so Devil Wears Prada is close to real life. lol
This woman has been very conscious of putting beautiful women of color on the cover. Covers with Kamala Harris, Naomi Campbell, Amanda Gorman, Paloma Elsesser, and Serena Williams-all the in the past 2 years-have been gorgeous! The Paloma Elsesser cover was incredibly beautiful. Never seen a woman of color celebrated like that. Thank you, Anna!
Vogue ceased to be relevant when they started putting Kardashians on the cover. Frankenstein plastic surgery "beauties." Even Kendall has had major work done.
That platform uses art, fashion, photography, profiles, some incredible writing, ect., to highlighting social issues with their art. It can also provide escapism. Just because it's not someone's cup of tea doesn't negate the fact of it's accomplishments. It's also not without it's missteps. But what incredibly expansive outlet or person isn't guilty of that at times.?.
No one talks about the bad choices she made for Vogue of super slim models, clothes, diets, make up and so on. All designed to make women feeling insecure and make them spend their money. She’s awful.
She is no longer relevant to the industry. Bad choices both in cover models and in subjects tackled in the magazine. No wonder why so many editors resigned last year.
