This video shows the life of the real Anne Boleyn apart from the Anne Boleyns portrayed by Hollywood. She was a great historical figure and a very bold, courageous and influential queen whom many still respect to this day. Please use the pause button if not a speedy reader and interested in reading some of the larger script.

Queen Anne seems like one of the most amazing women of her time. She didn't deserve to die especially like that. When I think about her I can't help wishing I had a time machine so I could go back and whisk her away and save her...💜

Anne Boleyn was an amazing woman and she was unjustly executed. But her treatment of Queen Catherine and her daughter, the Princess Mary, whom she called a 'cursed bastard', was indefensible.
@elanabethfariss117
@elanabethfariss117 5 лет назад
She very well may have, but it is also documented that she tried to make amends. There was so much rivalry going on at the time going back and forth, I don't think that she was a cruel woman by nature. Have you read the poem, Anne Boleyn's Lament?
@chronicstitcher7933

She was a pawn in a game played by her family for wealth, title and prestige. I think though she really did fall in love with Henry, but she made enemies. And those enemies assured her downfall, that and the fact her child was not a boy. They then demonized her after her death, we've all heard the story of the extra fingers and toes. Women were expendable back then. They were only important if they had wealth and/or power. And then it was only strategic importance. They could only contribute dowries and babies.

@@chronicstitcher7933 It wasn't that Annes 1st child Elizabeth hadn't been born a boy, they were young & it's known that Henry said we have a healthy girl, "wer'e young, boys are sure to follow", but that she had two miscarriages after Elizabeth, when Henry had already set eyes on the blond haired horse faced 'Jane Seymour, once he heard of Annes 2nd miscarriage he knew it was over, he made it clear to Cromwell that "she must go" or he 'Cromwell will, Cromwell wasted no time in interrogating her ladies in waiting along with threats of death if they didn't say what he wanted to hear, by adding her brother in the sexual charges just helped to blacken her name, which it did, though absolutely no evidence of any wrong doing of Anne Boleyn was bought forth to prove her wrong in court, she couldn't even cross question any so called witnesses as they had none, just signed confessions from her terrified ladies & her musician who had been tortured on the rack so badly that his four limbs had been ripped from their sockets, he had to be carried up the steps to the waiting axe man, only he confessed & only he was tortured, ppl will say anything under torture, Anne Boleyn 'Queen of a 1000 days, payed the ultimate price as would her guilty 17 yr old cousin Katherine Howard a few yrs later, Henry 8th wasn't born to be King, his elder brother Arthur was, but he died after catching his father's illness at just 16, leaving poor England with that psycho wife killer 'Henry 8th!

This poor woman really got shafted throughout her trial and accused of things she never did by Henry's lawyers, in which some of them were her own uncles. Henry just wanted to be rid of her no matter the cost.
@sherrycaraway5663

Anne also shafted Queen Catherine. She assisted Henry VIII in taking away her royal title, banishing her to far away locations, preventing her from seeing her own daughter Mary before she died and stripping Mary of her royal title of Princess and declaring her a bastard. She was not a nice person.

Even though all Anne Boleyn cared about was becoming the Queen of England and she was at times impatient, jealous and manipulative, towards the end of her reign, she became incredibly kind, sincere and humble. She was a Queen who was falsely charged by her "husband", a Queen so undeserving of her fate. No one cheered at her coronation, yet no one cheered at her execution.
@sherrycaraway5663
@sherrycaraway5663 5 лет назад
What Anne and the King did to his first wife Catherine and her daughter Mary was almost as bad as what Henry did to Anne. How would you know whether or not she was humble? She was evil and selfish just like Henry.

Sherry Caraway - I put the same question to you...how do you know she was evil and selfish? She may have expressed displeasure about certain things to Henry - after all, she had to wait 5-6 years before she could even marry him - but Henry was the true architect of it all.

Anne definitely wasn’t the people’s queen. She was a very smart, interesting woman whose reputation was unfairly destroyed. The people were still very much supportive of Henry’s first Queen, Katharine of Aragon while Anne was often called “the Great Whore.” Of course, that title wasn’t fair as I’m sure she didn’t have much of a choice since the King got what he wanted. She left her job as a LIW to KoA just to try to get away from him. Today, we’d probably consider Henry’s pursuit of Anne to be stalking.

Poor Anne, Henry treated her like shit because instead of giving him a son she gave him a daughter that would grow up to be one to the greatest monarchs in England and a strong woman. Anne didn't deserve what she got. :( she is my second favourite queen my first favourite is her daughter Elizabeth because in my opinion she was the worlds greatest ruler ever.

I don't like Henry but I get his urge to want a male child...Even these days, men want a son and for a king in those days, it was very important! Men carry on the family line! However, He did treat Anne like shit! Anne's karma Caught up with her though, because she was also manipulative and wooed her way into her position because she thought herself to be better than Katherine and able to give him a son of which she was unable to!!!!

Jazmenn Ijeoma-Ihechu Anne didn't love nor wanted Henry at the beginning, she returned to her hometown at Hever to run away from him also because she was in love with Henry Percy and the two were secretly engaged. She would have been countess if she had married him and Thomas Wolsey by Henry orders and her father haven't had separated the two. But Henry sent her a dead buck to remind her that he was the hunter and she was the prey. And that was an obvious warning. Who would dared to hid and protected her if she had not yielded to the king??? No one would ever think to do something like that. They would never risk their heads. This show doesn't show all the truth but put her more like the huntress home wrecker which actually she wasn't. There's a letter written from Henry to her that proves this. You people should do a more accurate research before spreading bullshit against someone who was so unjustified and betrayed by all those around her. Especially women. Only for envy and thirst for power.

Thank you for the lovely and informative presentation. Being from Sri Lanka, I first learned of Anne Boleyn in history class and became really obsessed with her after watching 'Tudors'. The chemistry between Anne and Henry is electrifying. I have visited the UK twice and been to the Tower of London as well but missed these places of interest. Hope I get to go again and see these particular places. What happened to Anne was tragic. I feel so much for her. Yet, through it all she remained kind of faithful to her King. I think that was for her daughter. A mother's love. Anyway, it's a kind of Lady Diana story.

I really enjoyed this, thank you! A couple of corrections on the Tower of London section, the Queen’s House wasn’t built until after Anne’s death, she stayed in her Queen’s apartments just as she did for her coronation. They were demolished centuries ago along with the rest of the old palace there, but you can trace their location from the back corner of the White Tower (the corner with the beautiful chapel windows) stretching back to the walls that run along the Thames. She walked through the old courtyard and up stairs that used to be on the West side of the White Tower closest to the church. The scaffold was not exactly where they indicate it now with a glass memorial, but slightly east, in front of what is now the Waterloo Barracks, a straight walk from the stairs. It is haunting to follow that walk.

First off, that was a beautiful video! So informative and enchanting. And I just wanted to be supportive of your comment and say for all of us that love history and Anne Boleyn;that we kind of have to draw our own conclusions as to what really happened (as you have done). Even after reading biographies from this period the historians often conflict with their theories. It's either that or like you stated,we simply except the fact that we will never know for sure (as frustrating as that is!).

Anne was put upon by false acquisitions from powerful men in the kings service. Not one witness came forward save one unfortunate pressed individual. Not one supporter was allowed. Yet, they called her trial a jury of her peers. She had no defense from these hypocrites and she knew her life was at it's end. She could have gone kicking and screaming to her death but did not. Would any of us have been as brave and as beautiful as she at the hour of our death? I've heard that death brings no sorrow and i believe this. I also believe life lost a great queen that dreadful day in 1536. live on queen Anne boleyn for the year is now 2017.

It is so amazing, stuffed with history. I have done A LOT of reading about the War of the Roses and the Tudors since my first visit. Based on eye witness accounts that survive today the scaffold was on the North side of the White Tower across from the Treasury. St. Peters ad Vacula would have been to the NW of the scaffold site. Not directly north of it...which is where the memorial fountain sits today. Worth a visit...but do some reading and documentary watching about it first...it will mean so much more on your visit!

Very touching video, thank you so much for sharing. I have read so many books of Queen Anne and I do believe she was innocent and I have so much repect for her. Its so sad how she was disgarded like trash in a can. Henry was a selfish spoiled brat who always had a taste for eye candy.

This is so very moving. I will be wearing her pin portrait to the QEII Birthday Tea. I will lay a rose for both of us on her grave when I am in England. This is haunting and beautiful. Thank-you for your time and talent. ~

Anne played with fire and truly got burnt. She poked the monster (Henry) and he devoured her whole for it in the end. A manipulative, passionate, forceful and ambitious woman who ruined lives in her desire and unquenchable thirst for power but she did not deserve to die. What happened to her was despicable but let’s not pretend she was an innocent little flower. Let’s give her character and her true spirit the credit it deserves. The King changed his entire country to wed his mistress and make her his Queen. That in itself speaks volumes about her own actions and what she aspired for and she is not entirely blameless in her rise and fall as Queen. However, she was used as a scapegoat in the end, betrayed, lied about and plotted against for the indelicate “sin” of not being able to produce a healthy male heir. They ruined her and her fate is beyond tragic. Rest in peace, Anne.

Like many, I too am fascinated by those times. But for those who slavishly worship the girl, I've got news for you, she did have a cruel streak within her, and a fiery temperament that didn't help her situation near the end. She was however highly intelligent and very strong willed, and when she set her mind to something God help that person who might stand in her way. If you doubt my word on that, just ask cardinal Wolsey, who often referred to her as "That crow", and who sorely underestimated her in guile and anger when he crossed her.

1:58 this vision is amazing, the same she used to see every morning while she lived there!!! The time is stopped. But dissapointed about her image in the picture oh...she looked just like Pinocchio.

This video is a great introduction to Anne Boleyn. Anyone wanting to know the real Anne after watching something like Showtime's 'The Tudors' could start here. The video contains a lot of pointers to send people off on serious research, from documents to historical locations. The video is also a beautiful tribute. I'm sure Anne Boleyn would have appreciated the choice of soundtrack. Well done.
