Netflix newest episode Annette going to prison to saves Edouard the singing demon. Maria meets her father the Abbott, Richter slain the night creatures. #castlevania #ritcherbelmont #netflix
This gives me chills everytime. Drolta was such a wickedly awesome villain. Her VA, her design. Just insane gorgeous. This scene was magic and the voice cast deserve such high praise.
@@rexxdarealest1 I just don't understand modern media's obsession with British accents! Her mom is Russian and her dad as French but somehow she came out a sassy British girl. The og series was so good with accents but now it's like they just gave up.
@@dredvaxyeah the show plays several different versions of the song. I took me a moment to realize that Edouard was singing the same song as the trailer
@@Sina.575theres def gonna be a season 2. Alot of ppl are complaining about dumb stuff but a majority of comments ive seen have been praise. Ive watched it 3 times thru now and rewatched the old show and like every critique ive seen is unfounded and i dont think ppl have a grasp on what they are doing with the writting
@@euiwoo7989 People are complaining a lot about pacing of the show. Its just like with avatar the last airbender sequel everyone compares it to the old show instead of viewing it as a new series so thats how it goes. I personally loved both
I like the less than subtle hint about the abbot’s relationship to Maria when he defends her. Like it makes total sense when it is revealed about his relationship and why he would suddenly try to protect her, but we as the viewer can only assume he just didn’t want to see drolta kill a little girl in front of him
To me it was never super obvious that they were father and daughter, but looking back on their interactions after the reveal DEFINITELY made me get father-daughter vibes. I like that the Abbott's actions make sense both before and after, that's strong writing!
I kind of had a suspicion when her mother kept defending the Abbot and talked about how they took her in and then her surprised look when she realized the Abbot was involved. Perhaps she didn't want to believe what she thought was a good man to do something so terrible but it also makes sense as a man you did perhaps love was involved
Even Drolta had to pause, smile, almost in a complimentary way and say to herself “ damn this girl is something else”. For Annette to hold her own against an ancient, immensely powerful vampire like Drolta though ….the voodoo queen isn’t to be trifled with. Annette not only has the power but is a skilled demon Hunter and is a very adaptable, creative, fast thinking fighter. Unstoppable.
and you know what I’m glad you said “ancient” I kind of forgot Drolta is not like Orlox who is 250 years old or Lenore who was 200 years old. She said she remembers being a mortal on festival day in Egypt as a priestess of Sekhmet. Drolta has to be well over 1,000 years old.
@@thehoodedone3822 People act like Alucard is hot shit for oneshotting her, but he also stabbed her *from behind* while she was entirely focused on killing someone else. If they fought on a level playing field, there's no telling who would've won.
@@Lardo137 he still would have won I mean I like her but Alucard is the son of Dracula and trained by Dracula the strongest vampire in history his lineage and track record speak for themselves it'll be a good fight maybe even a close one but one he would win in the end, Also him attacking from behind makes sense he needed to asses the situation immediately so when he saw the Belmonts party under attack he wasn't going to waste time in engaging in a fair fight.
@@notforgetful4926Annette from the game was trash. She was just a girl for Trevor to save. I’m glad they changed her. Nobody wants to see a girl constantly get saved. It gets boring
@@vexswayze2669 Did you know that you can add depth to a 1 dimensional character? It's not even that hard. Nexflix probably gave the team a list and said "at least ONE of these characters has to be race swapped and they just chose Annette because she admittedly has the least amount of writing behind her.
She is a Demi-God war veteran and fought vampires and night creatures during the Haitian Revolution in Saint Domingue. Unlike her, I am more impressed with the Belmonts because they fought Vampires purely out of skill and magic alone.
I just like it when immortals use their immortality to their advantage, letting themselves be stabbed in order to get close since they know they can regenerate the damage anyway.
Honestly this was the best episode of s1. Ed singing and just the doom of endless fighting and the beautiful fight animations was legend. Never gets old re watching
I love that we see Richter just fucking decking Night Creatures here when they get inside the reach of his whip here, and that it pays off later with him doing the exact same shit just juiced with fire and frost magic. Don't get me wrong, Trevor punched Dracula in the face, but it was never *effective* just the option he had at the moment. Trevor felt like he was always fighting to keep monsters at arm's length so he *could* kill them with his weapons, but Richter doesn't even hesitate to throw hands with demons from hell.
As soon as I saw him boxing with that night creature I knew he was a true Belmont but Trevor a true OG he punched Dracula in the face 3 times who can say they did that
I think Richter has a form super strength. While Trevor and Issac did their best to not fully throw hands with a vampire or night creature without some type of insurance, Richter legit can throw hands and hurt them like its nothing.
Trevor actually have killed monsters with his bare hands before, in the first episode of season 3 Trevor killed a werewolf barehandedly, in the latter half of season 4 he killed a mummy like vampire by punching his face in, the only reason punching Dracula didn't work was because Dracula was simply too powerful compared to most vampires and monsters even in a blood starved/weaken state but yeah Richter is considered as one of the most powerful of the Belmont bloodline for a reason and this season did a good job on showing that.
The song is: Il Lamento della Ninfa, Libro 8 dei Madrigali, Carlo Monteverdi, "Amor". This rendition is in the official soundtrack of Castlevania Nocturne, check on streaming platforms as it's been released :)
I'll admit the first episode left me a bit afraid, given how more cliché the begining felt, and I was afraid Richter would be too much like Trevor. But the moment Edouard and Annette showed up, suddenly everything felt right with the show.
@@peterstoric6560 exactly, richter feels more fleshed out and relatable. That moment in the dungeon when fear took hold of him after the vamp that killed his mom showed up was Chef's kiss. Trevor was seasoned, hardened, and somewhat emotionally unavailable before Sypha and Alucard's intervention into his life. I think that Richter would've probably grown into Trevor if not for Terra and his cousin being in his life early on, and now Annette and Eduard. I guess we can even include his grandpa in the equation as well.
Because most people don't watch the show on its own merit but keep comparing it to og Castlevania and most of them just following other people's opinion. Very toxic.
@@this2shallpass108That's true. I'm not familiar with the game, but I was trying not to compare this to the Castlevania with Trevor. I binged all 4 seasons before watching this 8 episode one
@@chiamrandall8188 Yeah, unlike Isaac and Hector, who used their own magical abilities to create Night Creatures, the Abbot is only borrowing the powers of a demon and using a machine from the bowels of Hell. He doesn't actually have any magic himself. He's just a normal dude. Also, it's interesting how two of the Night Creatures made with the Hell Forge (Edouard and Jacques), were revived with their original souls. With Hector and Isaac, their creations ended up receiving the souls of complete strangers, like with the Philosopher Fly from Greece.
@@kamikazelemming1552 I guess being a natural forge master, you can impose your intent on them during creation ( hector's are more pet like while issac's are basically a fully functioning team with everyone having a role), this machine is just a random gamble. Some would be warrior, others drones, others get their original selves back faster.
Still can’t remember any of these characters names because I binged the whole show in one night but damn I love that vampire chick. Her whole vibe is so excellent.
Happy to help. There’s Richter Belmont (whip guy), Maria (bird person), Annette (heavy metal ex-slave), Édouard (opera guy), Tera (milf), Emmanuel (the Judas priest), and Drolta (sexy Titan Luz vamp)
Two titans and a fight for the history books. Drolta was literally trying to kill this girl. But the voodoo queen isn’t to be played with. That’s actually Michonne’s daughter but with immense power. Annette is bad.
I've already finished this series but goddamn, I keep coming back to this fight scene. This and the fight in the cathedral. These ARE SMOOOTHHH. While not literally as there are times where it looks like some movements are animated in 4s, the choreography of this is captivating.
*the miraculous tone of edouards voice and the badassery of the fight really gave flare to thus scene i hope we got more of edouards voice next season* 😤🤌🏻
Maybe you already know, but they released the original version without sound, and the trailer one too (that is diferent, because it mixed with Ravel's Bolero cresciendo technique). You can also listen to the original song named "Lamento della Ninfa" by Claudio Monteverdi.
Edouard Just because he was turned into a night creature doesn't mean. He doesn't have a well of his own. He doesn't have to listen to that idiot. That was proof when he saved her. I would say to him Keep Singing When you sing. You draw all the lost souls to you saving with your that little act can change the world
@1:08 Drolta taking in Maria’s sword into her hand is such a power move. It’s like, “I don’t even need to dodge your attack - I can take it and stare you down in the process.” - Drolta
Imagine the lineage of Belmonts Richter and Annette could make. The skills and magic from the Belmont/Belnades side with power from the ancestry of African gods from Annette's side. That would be an OP Belmont.
He wasn’t struggling. His way of fighting is more physical. Especially since he couldn’t use his magic abilities yet. Same way how his ancestor Trevor was. If you have to rely on swords and knifes more you’re going to have to put in more work to win. Makes the fights more interesting in my book, magic is cool but it’s good to see them use more realistic skills. Instead of blasting everything away with magic.
The only criticism that I have about this season is the rushing of Tera and Emmanuel’s story. We needed an episode that focused on their love story to give more meaning to Tera’s sacrifice and Emmanuel’s pain at the end.
Yeah, but since she's a vampire under Bathory's thrall, she will most likely have her backstory with Emmanuel expanded next season, since they now work under the same villain
Aside from Dracula, it's interesting seeing another vampire like Drolta doing hand to hand combat then using a weapon like most other vampires seem to use
Ngl.... Seeing a the Nightcrestures and how rare the art supposedly has b come makes me wonder so much about what became of Isaac. Forgemasters are so cool.
This would have been really good just on animation grounds... im not sure who the genius was that thought up the haunting opera to go with instead of something more bombastic, but they deserve a raise.
The way Richter used one or his most powerful moves from the games - whoever played Rondo of Blood and SOTN knows bow absurdly powerful 1000 Knifes is - and said “WHO’S FUCKING NEXT?!” was SO GOOD
Il Lamento della Ninfa, Carlo Monteverdi (Book 8 of madrigals, the piece is named Amor). This is a good rendition (not many versions in a male voice that I have heard) but some parts are cut
The first scene necessarily standing outside the main timeline, THIS scene shall forever be THE SCENE of Castlevania Nocturne: Season 1! (Though, I'd say it begins when Annette invokes Papa Legba to "open the door/path"---to the scene...)
Heres the translation to the music found it on a link since i curious on what it means. Oh, love Oh, love Oh, love Where is it his faithfulness was, promised to me? I've been deceived, I'm lost Please, bring his love to me the way it was before Oh, or let me die now Then it won't hurt me more It will not hurt me It will not hurt me no more And do not let him sigh now When he is far away from me No, no, he would not He would not let me hurt anymore, I swear He is so proud standing in this light The light I spread on him If I would leave him in the shadows Would he come back for me? Are her eyes as bright? Her kisses as light As feathers, as feathers on your skin? Oh, love, the value of my true heart in your hand Last longer than her kiss ever can Her lips could never hold this true love like my heart Please, do not speak, my love You know this all so well Just love me, love me Love me and please, don't speak.
