I'm 52 years old , been around legit Race cars (circuit, rally, drag) and hot rods literally since I was born, and have never seen one person with this broad a skill set let alone be that proficient at it all. Hat's off to you sir, you're a legend.

It brings me great pleasure to see you and your dad working together and him passing on his skills and passion to you. I built race cars in Australia for 40 years but my son was not interested in being involved which was kind of sad since it is something I would have liked to share. I gave up building and racing about 10 years ago because the rules both for on road vehicles and racing have become so restrictive that it became no fun. I love watching the build and often think that your dad and I have very similar skill sets. I am both an engineer and a precision machinist but I have run a composite shop making vehicle parts and boats and a business building rally cars and open wheelers. I was amused when your dad said if someone else can do it then he can - I have been saying that view for 40 years and so far it has always been true. Alex, listening to your Dad talking about the first time that he cut a thread and then his attitude with "if someone has done it before, then I can do it!" I really liked the "going to bring some jets" reference. I remember my dad telling me about Dennis Wilson constantly changing jets in the movie. Because I hadn't seen it at the time and it was no longer at the theater and this was pre-VHS, so it was quite a while before I was able to see the movie.

Your Dad is a talented guy. I dont know many chassis guys who could build a full tube chassis car with this detail in this time frame. Love you channel and you have some serious skills yourself !

I was thinking the last up date that your Dad reminded me of lil jon.lol what a legend .my idol growing up .i wanted to be just like him and build the stuff he built .the man was way ahead of his time .i will never be even close to have the knowledge he did . If people dont know who he is you should look up his work .he started all the billet stuff for Boyd .That guy could build anything. Very nice guy and very talented. You guys keep up the good work .love it .

Hearing you say, Holley, Holley, Holley, My brother lucked into a stroker 406 sitting in a 79 Z-28 running a Holley 750 double pumper & Man, she ran like a champ! He switched to a major competitor! The biggest competitor & I was jacked!!! It slowed it down!!!!!! GLAD TO HEAR HOLLEY! A 1973- 4.125 bore 400... Your Dad is an animal! Love it!!!!!!! As I've always said, I would love to learn from your Dad! Of the many channels that I've seen, Your Dad is one heck of a mechanic!!! One heck of a fabricator!

Love 55 chevy’s!!!!! My brother had one back in 1967 it had a 327 340 h.p. out of a 62 corvette and it was fast. Miss that car.Love your RU-vid channel .Keep up the great work.

A 55 Chevy 210 was my first car. It was originally my father's drag racing car. I paid $37.50 for it with no engine or trans. Eventually put a 292 6 cylinder in it until I got my first 409 to put in it. Gave it up in Watson, AR. when I joined the Air Force in 1973. I would give every car I've had since to get it back. ABSOLUTELY LOVE your channel. Be Happy, Go Fast, and Stay and Stay Pretty!!!

The thing is I could do that in my lunch break. Best flex ever 😂

It was nice to hear Dennis mention Jon Butera, Jon started out right down the street from me in Kenosha Wisconsin with Dennis Rollain. Unfortunately Jon moved on before I met Dennis but I was able to work with Dennis before he passed away & learned how talented they were. Your dad reminds me of Dennis Rollain & my own father with his talent building cars. Thanks for sharing your build, 55 chevys have always been my favorite car.

What's the best part? Knowing that the 55 is all built by dad, from top to bottom, rear to front.That to me would be the best part. Love your videos and hope you film the first time you fire her up. I was hoping you went with the SFI 20 suit with all the extras. Your going to sweat might as well have another 10 seconds or so to get out, or be pulled out. Loved the update, I know how much work is ahead, but know you guys are awesome!

I wanted to express my extreme gratitude to you for what you said at 18:35, "If Somebody can do it, so can you" way to often I've heard in my building life, "who built that for you," followed by "wow you really built that yourself." Thank you kindly for being a do it yourselfer.... YOU sir are car guy goals.

When the car gets into the 6 sec range it will be Dad in the seat. Alex will be pedaling throughout the 7s. You gotta learn to race 200+mph. A mid 8 is a cupcake, a 6.8 is a monster.

I’ve really enjoyed watching this project take shape. I love the fact that the whole family is involved and how well you work together. Thanks for all the time you spend sharing your adventures with us. It’s going to be amazing to watch your race season unfold. Dennis, as one dad to another, you’ve done an amazing job inspiring and supporting your daughter in her automotive passion. Dennis, thanks for the Lil John Buttera comment. I still have the "Basic Training" series that he and Gray Baskerville did in HOT ROD in the early 80's. He was such an inspiration and his cars were incredible. Good luck with your quest. Your team is awesome!

You all are a great team. I love the relationship you all have and the work ethic is fantastic! I have two favorite cars too, 1955 Chevy and 1967 Camaro. My first car was a 1967 Camaro and I owned ot for over 30 years. It was going to be my midlife crisis build but I had to sell it when I was struck with cancer. I hope to find it and buy it back or another one to build new memories with. Thank you for sharing this build and it's going to be fantastic to see it go down the track. Stay safe and have fun!

Two Lane Blacktop, I need to watch it again. What a great build , my daughter and I built a 327 for our T - Bucket . She used it for her senior project and aced it . Couldn’t have been prouder of her and the presentation. Good luck with your project , can’t wait to hear it fire up.

I know some awesome fabricators, some awesome body shop guys & painters, some awesome mechanics etc. Your dad is the first I've seen that can do it all and do it as good or better than anyone I've ever met and that includes a guy that won 2nd place at SEMA for custom paint a few years back. Wonderfully talented and a blessed family man!

I also like your Dad's dog. I had a red Chow named Lord Budweiser The Boss and of course we just called him Bud. He road with me pretty much everywhere I went, from Sunnyvale California to Phoenix Az, to Peoria Illinois to his final resting place in the panhandle of Florida. Great dog he was. He was a people and kid dog. Got along with everyone.

My 1st car was a '53.... then a '55... then a '57. Raced all three and then a dragster for a few years. You can probably guess which one I loved the best. I might also understand how much I wished I would have kept them.... and today... couldn't afford to buy one of them. Love what you guys are doing. And.. that Willys you have... loved Stone/Woods/Cook... still my all-time favorite... my oh my. Keep up the good work.

Reading all the comments. I could not add anything better., What a great family. Then for my self, I thought I would really like to see a time lapse start from find to first time on the road. Thank you from an old guy who's Dad had always said " If the manufacture wanted a hemi in a '51 Merc coupe. They would have done it." Help his 17 year old son, stuff a '52 rebuilt hemi into the sons Merc.

I can't even wait to see the finished product. My Dad's first car was a '55 Chevy when I was just 4 years old. I've always loved the style. It's always been a favorite of mine since those days. It's definitely going to be exciting to see this car drag racing plus driving on the street. The next favorite car you mention is the Chevy II.
