OK, for all of those who are saying that they lost their possessions through these tricks i feel for all of you, but its not my fault so please stop commenting that towards me.
The dropping the note one doesn't always work, as telling them will cause them to try and predict when it drops making them have a much higher change of grabbing it, as well as it taking a longer time than the average human reaction time to drop fully through their hands.

The 2nd one with the two books really work! I've tried it myself! I can't separate the two books by tugging on the spines. It really works! This man is a genius.
Mythbusters actually did a couple attempts with that one of 'em had like two tanks trying to pull the books apart tug-of-war style the spines (which were reinforced by bolts and planks) tore out before the pages gave in
