Props for putting 88 Fingers Louie in! 100 Proof is an absolute banger! The Leftover Crack - Gang Control bassline always sounded like an imitation of NoMeansNo - Rags and Bones to me!

I think, if you do a third episode, you could add some good Post-Punk bass lines, for example She's Lost Control, by Joy Division, or Lucretia my reflection by Sisters of mercy, or Damaged Goods by Gang of Four ! Anyway, great videos with a lot of good bands and bass lines :)

I've been watching your videos for a while now. This one popped up in my feed and I decided to give it a watch. I had no idea you knew so much about classic punk and hardcore as well. Almost all of your more recent videos focus on mid/late 2000s pop punk. Why is that? Is that what you mostly listen to? You grow up with that mostly? Does it just simply get the most views? Don't get me wrong, I love early Green Day, as a 90s kid, its how I found punk, but personally, I would love to see you cover some more classic stuff - the clash, Buzzcocks, Dead Kennedy's, Bad Brains, etc. Maybe its just well-worn territory, but until this video I had no idea all that was even in your periphery. Thanks for the great videos! keep them up!

Thanks man! Yeah it's mostly down to audience interest and how much time I can dedicate to making videos. I don't personally listen to a ton of pop punk in my own time, I just tend to produce a lot of that stuff for other people, and I guess it's what I'm more known for. I'd love to do a video on Wire or Dead Boys and have that blow up, but unfortunately that's just not the world we live in - or at least that my channel exists in, haha. Thanks for the kind words though, I appreciate it!

@@SugarpillProd Totally get it. Thought that might be what’s going on, at least a little bit. I love. Love. Wire. Their first 3 records blew my mind when I first at heard them. Totally redefined and challenged my idea what is/is not punk. Have noticed that you have posted a few polls, requesting content ideas lately. If you’re running dry, maybe just post one that’s for you every once in a while. I’m sure they’re a lot of work, and the audience reception to a video about Rudimentary Peni would probably be more work than anything. But hey, maybe you can grab a few more outlier subs that way! Either way, I’m here for what you post. Thanks for the response!

Another great list but I don't think you've included the Damned's love song or anything by the Ramones - there are some notable basslines in their catalog ("I dont wanna go down to basement" and "spiderman" are 2 that come to mind)

You've made me realize two things- 1: Your technique is EXCELLENT. 2. The majority of punk music would be SO much better as instrumentals. I never realized this kind of tasty playing was buried under the (usually not great) vocals.
