So let me get this straight. 1. He parked where he wasn't supposed to. 2. He got towed. 3. He cops (pun intended) an attitude because he's above the law and it couldn't be his LEO fault (sign, sign; everywhere a sign). 4. He has to listen to his Karen of a wife so projects that onto you. 5. OMG he can't get his vehicle until morning, just ghastly. 6. Hotel says you're running a scam so he thinks "yeah, let's run with that" 7. Has to argue with you when picking up his car; let's not forget Karen yelling then to. 8. Registration problems? 9. He's a dick and she's a bitch 10. I hope they get towed again I'm usually a charitable person and don't like to cuss or wish ill on people, but come on. You did your job, end of. In so sorry you have to deal with entitled people like that. Your professionalism shines through every time. I hope you respond to their FB posts with a link to this video. I also hope you share this with his work. They should know how he is representing them in another state.
Well said! Part of the issue (and I think it's a pretty serious one) is that he was dealing with someone saying they are law enforcement. Although there are by in large an overwhelming amount of good officers, they have forgotten they are supposed to be peace keepers and vids like this are sheding the light on them. If he acts like this under day to day stress then we have a good idea how he would on the right traffic stop. They have the right to get mad but, get mad at the correct parties such as the hotel. It seems that a lot of this would be much simpler to solve 😂. Jeff rules 🤘
@@jonathanw1567 Speaking from experience, Jeff literally tows in and around my companies businesses multiple times a week. Dealing with the people who come to Gatlinburg and tell you they are cops, is a complete pain in the ass. I've literally been a yelling match with one on the parkway because he got an attitude with a female coworker, then came BACK to her to try to intimidate and scare her. I'm told OFTEN they're cops. Literally the only profession where people try to throw it around when they're acting like jackwagons. The only nice thing is for the most part GPD sides with employees when they're right, and not their "brothers in blue". Also, yes they've tried calling them in the past, only to be told to move along.
If you would have told me a week ago that I would be watching endless videos about a towing company, I would have said you were nuts. But here I am. And I'm all for it.
This guy is a deputy. In my hometown, sheriff’s deputies are often former police officers who were fired. I’ve known guys who were hired by the Sheriff’s department who had criminal records before they were hired. Sheriff’s department often have a much lower standard when hiring.
This is common cop behavior. I’ve seen cops lie on the stand in court. If they don’t care about honesty when testifying, why would they care about it at all?
You get more grief from cops because as a rule they feel they're above the law and the rules. He parked where he shouldn't, got towed, and then cried to anyone who'd listen, while telling his version of what happened. It is what it is.
I can’t believe “his attitude”!!!! You go through so much on those illegal parks. You and Kristen go above and beyond in your treatment of everyone you come in contact with. I’ve told my daughter that I live with if we ever need a wrecker in the mountains or that area that we’re calling you or Nate. God bless. My brother says that Facebook is the Devils work.
It only takes a few entitled officers/deputies to make a whole department look bad. Most of the police officers I know wouldn't act that way. He had me shaking my head for sure. Gee, if mentioning he's a police officer entitles him to a break (in his mind), would he give me a break on a speeding ticket if I said I was an insurance agent? LOL. My guess is no. Anyway, Jeff and Kristen, as always, you have the patience of saints. I think I liked the rants that just kept coming. Thanks for taking us along! Stay Safe!
In regards to the cop: first I’m sorry he lost a brother. That is hard to go through. However, as I was discussing this with my husband (retired cop & honor guard member who laid too many to rest) we agree that everyone is going through something, and it doesn’t give us the right to stop being adults. And as a cop he should absolutely be aware of his surroundings! And treat people with dignity and respect. You handled this very well. And I send you both big hugs for having to deal with this. Sounds like you got the brunt of a bad time for him, not that that is an excuse by no means. Do better people. We all have choices.
I’m a member of the American Legion and VFW. It’s an honor to lay our brothers and sisters to rest. 21 gun salute is the greatest honor. Folding the American Flag, giving it to the wife of children, then saluting them always gets me teared up. However, loosing a person who served is no excuse to be ignorant!
I’m sure if he looked at your past videos he’d see that you and Kristen always show respect to police officers(and everyone)and give back to your community. That’s why we love your channel.
Jeff you have some amazing patience!!! You guys go above and beyond to help out everyone you can. Some people just don’t comprehend their own situation. Love all your videos and content! Hope you guys are having a wonderful day, stay safe out there!👊🏼
The video where you paid for a person's' gas (plus you gave them cash money) shows just who you are. True professionalism and a generous heart. Y'all ROCK! We got to meet you in person today (Sept. 14th), the highlight of my short time away from the hustle and bustle. Keep doing what you're doing!
Yeah, he surely was hoping for a pardon from you. It shows he needed to respect you because it's your business as you were very polite with a few chuckles. Good video
I think it’s ironic that you as a businessman following the law is asking the “deputy sheriff’ for his license and registration! Love it!!! You did just fine. The only reason I would call the tow company is if I had needed medication in the car. Other than that it was senseless to call at 1 am. They had a room. They weren’t going anywhere.
He is going to say whatever he needs to so he will make himself feel better about screwing up. I’m very sorry about losing a fellow officer and friend but his choices are not your fault!!
You handle yourself in a very professional manner. You stay calm when most people would blow up. He was butt hurt so it is everyone else’s fault but his. KEEP ON KEEPIN ON
This shows the importance of asking the hotel where to park and look for signs. I love the Greystone where you park in their parking garage near your room.
I have been subscribed for a long time, I am impressed with how you handle customers in a difficult situations. We were in Gatlinburg labor day and I let you squeeze in the lane to get on River Road. I appreciated that you made eye contact and waved thank you! Our society need more like you.
I love watching your channel. You are nothing but professional in the way you handle people. My favorite saying is ' you can't fix stupid'. Seems to apply to this.
I have to give you KUDOS for taking the high road and not forwarding the videos to his department! He and all his friends should be ashamed of their behavior and trying to hurt your reputation for their wrong doing.
I am late chiming in on this because I just started watching your channel a few days ago. This video is about a profound sense of entitlement. He was entitled to park where he wanted to....entitled to not take the time to verify by looking for signage (or asking the appropriate people) if where he chose to park was appropriate....entitled to try to make you feel horrible because he made a bad decision while he was having a horrible day....entitled to not take responsibility for his mistake and throw you under the bus to his folks on Facebook---entitled to blame you for his not writing the address down and him going to the wrong place...entitled to use his position as a police office to try to influence (or bully) you. I could see how much that bugged you because you obviously take a lot of pride and responsibility for what you do. You and your wife are a great team! Keep doing what you are doing. :)
If I was that sheriff senior officer I would have given him the riot act when he returns to work… giving law enforcement a bad name. Pay the man an sit down !!!
Amen Jeff, Facebook is not good, reason I am not a Facebook participant! Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! Be kind people! Jeff is doing his job! Jeff and Kristen are great compassionate people who help so many people. They are very caring!
Unfortunately, there are a lot of officers that throw around their title in an attempt to get treated differently. Not all or many, but it does happen. My brother is on swat and I have so much respect for what they do, but there's bad apples in any group. You guys did nothing wrong. Keep up the great work!
I sometimes feel that this channel should be a required watch for psychology courses. There is much to be learned by watching the reactions of some of the illegal tows and your marvelous response and ability to handle them. There is this trend of entitlement from a few claiming to be officers. Some of them could just be Jeremy Dewitte wanna bes... Or maybe some are actually cops. Either way, it no excuse for them. The so called "church lady" who can tell you to have a blessed day and go to hell in the same sentence is also an example of those self righteous who believe they somehow can use religion to cover their bad behavior. It's really nuts but also fascinating to watch and analyze.
I'm sorry y'all have to deal with the public this day and time. I work in psychiatric and addiction hospital. It's a shame ppl take to the internet to complain to try and put grief on honest ppl just trying to earn a living. I think you guys are the best. Be a duck and let the complaints and hurtful words roll off your back like water !!
Pete and I understand the frustration that people from out of town may feel when they get their car towed, but the excuses they use are ridiculous. We feel like they see all the No Parking signs. They just get embarrassed when they get caught. My only word to you Jeff is don’t laugh when talking to these people. They feel like they are in a crisis. Otherwise we think you handle yourself like a true professional. We are addicted to your show!!😂❤
I feel for You. You are in a no win situation with the towing anyway. You are the face of the bad guy and nobody wants to admit they did wrong by parking in the wrong spot. And I can see how someone would maybe not see a sign and think its ok to park somewhere also. I love your videos. I know you are one of the good guys trying to make a living.
It amazes me how the majority of these people towed take no responsibility for their own behavior. It’s always somebody else’s fault they can’t follow rules.
First of all I have never ever seen you and Kristen treat people with nothing but respect! The problem now days is that no one wants to take blame for what they have done! Keep up the good content and be safe!
Man, you are way too nice to people. once I’ve explained something to someone three or four times I would be like hey do you have the cash? If so, I will take it and you can be on your way. Otherwise I’m closing the gate and you can have a good day.
You were totally right , you had No attitude it was his attitude which was the problem, hopefully he will be reprimanded by his police bosses , keep up the good work you two 👍❤️
We’re all starting to catch hell over these impounds. I get these story’s in Florida all night long. They never understand that we don’t make the rules the property owner does we just in force them
Love to watch your videos, this one got me, because you have a badge, you don't have to read signs and can park on private property and your a scammer lol, you have a job to do and so does he, but to try and use a badge to try and get out of it. Inhad a stroke in 2022 and nearly died and 2 days later my hubby had a major car accident and got a break in his neck, from a guy running a stop sign, things happen, I do mention to people that I have had a stroke, but only because my speech has been affected and ask them to read addresses etc back to me incase they didn't understand me, not for people to feel sorry for me, I am alive and lucky. You both do a wonderful job, and believe you and me, they are glad it isn't me in your job, cause I wouldn't be so nice waiting an hour for people that say they will be 5 mins, to rude people etc. I am a typical Aussie lol. Take care, just keep doing what you do for all of us to enjoy. From a fan from Australia xx
Jeff they tell you they’re cops to try to intimidate you. They’re hoping you’ll be worried they’ll see you out & about doing something wrong & they’ll be able to ‘get’ you. So they tell you they’re cops so you’ll say ‘oh crap! Well then you can have it back for free. Let me drop it back to you. Anything else I can do for you Officer?’ And then they get all defensive when you’re not fazed so they double down on the insults. Classic narcissist behaviour. Like many others have said, you & Kristen have the patience of saints.
I grew up in Ohio and currently live in Ohio. There are a lot of good police officers in Ohio unfortunately there are a lot of police officers like this one who in my opinion shouldn't be a police officer. His department should be embarrassed by the way he was acting.
It would be nice if you also played the calls you get for the removals. Cause I would call BS too. I've seen places where tow trucks literally wait around to see where patrons are walking to, and if it's not the business the parking belongs to, they're gone in three minutes. Nobody ever called, but there sure was a sign the towing company put up there with the business's approval. Still a scam.
As soon as I saw that this was another cop I fully expected this reaction. Big ego big mouth and absolutely no accountability for his actions!!!!!! You parked illegally! You guys are beyond professional and go above and beyond as clearly seen in your videos! Officer why not post your review for everyone to see? Because you know everything’s recorded and it will make you look like the fool you are!!! You absolutely should tell the officer the OBVIOUS!!!!
He knew what he did. Not your problem at all. If I was a police officer I would never tell you that. I would be extremely embarrassed. I would pay and never park wrong again.
Imo people should have someone to call to contest a tow. Obviously the tow company should be paid but the ones who ordered the tow should be made available to have that conversation
Why are they always "with" the sheriff's department? Nothing screams maintenance man like "with" the sheriff's department. Also, the whole story of my buddy died so I needed a vacation smelled fishy.
This tow company is a security company; making deals with these private lots to police the lot saying the lot only requires one sign as the tow truck driver said in another video. How could you tell if the car was legal or illegal in the dark unless you lying in wait holding yourself in a concealed position to watch and wait for a victim to make an unexpected mistake?
@@briananderson6142 for someone from Canada, or so you say, you sure are not polite or even logical in your statements. These nice people are not a security company that makes deals with stores so they can hide in the night waiting for ignorant people like yourself. You really like to throw around a lot of accusations with no facts to back your story up. Maybe understand what you are talking about before you argue with others.
@@briananderson6142 It is the car owner's responsibility to park their car legally. No one else is to blame here. This alleged cop even saw the, employees only, sign and decided to park there regardless, that makes everything else his problem and his alone.
@@Schwarzenfels I agree with you, parking your car in a no-parking zone is too bad, but what if signs are taken down to deceive the drivers. There is a lot of money to be made in the towing business. I found one of his videos where he tells three kids the truth. Google Street View shows the signs in place but when this tow company shows up to tow them the signs are gone.
Bahahahaha!!!!! I understand being pissed for being towed...anyone is. But if you park where you're not supposed to, that's a chance you take. And to tell him you are just doing your job was perfection. And telling him to call the police...I nearly peed my pants. So glad you held him responsible. "There's only one sign!!!" How many signs does it take? And it must be nice to live in a world where nothing is ever your fault. He's lucky you don't sue him for slander. He should know better.
Being a former cop, I had many of my colleagues who always believed that they should have preferencial treatment because of the badge.>>> It is those type of cops who gives the police force a bad reputation......some of them behave like "Karen's" of the world.
I Love you all . I'm talking about former drug dealers that made meth sold meth , smoked meth made alot of $$$$$$$ now they want to find something else to do illegally . Its a no brainer. No one is better then each other. Think about what I just said. There are tooooo many unsolved cold cases that need closure. Its embarrassing. I am sorry he lost one of his fellow police officers. But he had no right to treat the tow driver the way he did... I'm glad I don't live in Ohio to have to deal with a cop like him.
Hey guys, new to the channel here. I love watching you and your wife. She's a trooper. Thanks for everything you do. Me and my family love Gatlinburg. Keep up the great work.
He was upset because he did wrong and got caught. Calling what you do “a scam” is ridiculous. You guys perform a service for a lot owner. Let someone park in their driveway and see if they get upset. Keep up the great work. You and your family are great and professional.
its not a scam but it's incredibly dirty and he knows it's dirty which is why he took offense even though the guy wasn't mad at him. These people were on vacation imagine coming outside in your car is gone. They give you an outrageous price so outrageous it's censored in the video. then you're told can't come get it right now then you're told no you can't have the number to the person that told us to tow you, and oh it's the weekend so you gotta wait till 10 AM. happy vacation welcome to Bum f*ck egypt
This couple, and the gal who sent you that d.m., owe you a sincere apology. As a deputy, it is an understatement that he should have known better. Now they get to live with the fact that their atrocious behavior is out there for world to see and hear. Keep up the good work you two!
@@pixiew93 It's not entirely out of the realm of possibility, particularly if friends are sharing the rant and it was linked/tagged back to the company Facebook page, that this whole video will cycle through whatever town he's from.
@jmash7751 as a deputy yourself, what is your opinion on the "officer" posting on his Facebook accusing the tow company of being scam artists? Not only did I find that in bad taste from a supposed officer, but it seemed to me to be slanderous. Perhaps it would fall more in a civil attorney's wheelhouse, but what are your impressions on what I would consider defamation of character?
It’s terrifying this guy is a cop and can’t function as an adult from the point of reading signs to going to right address. You have so much patience Jeff.
Terrifying indeed. He's the type of officer that asks you a question, and then interprets every word out of your mouth as an argument, as opposed to an answer. De-escalation is not in his bag of tools. Very scary. I'd love to see his personnel file.
Funny thing is being a police officer, he should know the ignorance of the law is no excuse. Because I’m sure he is told that to people many of times during his law-enforcement career. It just amazes me when people are in the wrong how they try to take it out on the person who is just doing their job. I think you guys are great! You do a wonderful job, making sure that you record everything on the vehicle so they cannot accuse you of damaging their vehicles, and that the two of you go out together and work together and work well together! When my ex-husband and I will try to go to work together with his HVAC business all he did was belittle me and yell at me. Hence is why he is my ex lol. But keep on doing the great work that you do and keeping the employees lots empty. You should put a really snarky note on your gate to your impound lot saying $20 would’ve been a hell of a lot cheaper lol.
Funny thing is cops have qualified immunity and they can and often are ignorant of the laws even though a lot of them act like this Karen. He is the typical pig, they know everything and citizens are dumb.
I love this channel but that employee parking lot needs to do a better job of keeping their employees parking for employees only…I don’t agree with the cop but I do understand his frustration…if I were a towing company I’d really really push that to my customers bc confrontation like this just isn’t needed…also I do understand why you ask for cash on illegal parks but whenever these poor people go holy sh** at your price…idk man just doesn’t seem like it’s helping anyone…
That guy Should know better being in law enforcement. Don't lower your standards to anyone. This is why we Love your channel, your honest, upfront and you are good people. Also the laughing he says you do, he obviously doesn't have a sense of humor to see the situations your chuckling about or chuckle worthy. Stay you!! Be safe out there from goons like that.
He does know better. They all know better. But that badge makes them "better" and "more important" than those of us without one. That's why he tried to be so intimidating - out of uniform, his importance is missing a letter ... the R (and change the A to an E).
I tow for my buddy company, when it comes to private parking area's. I tell the PEOPLE that my and / or their signs must be in multiple areas and must be lit up at night. Some areas that's the law. I don't blame the guy getting his car towed
The "deputy" is a male Karen. He threw it out at you that he was a deputy to try to intimidate you, when you turned it around on him, he knew you were right and they upset him more. I love the illegal parks, they all think they are entitled and above the law, when they get caught it's everyone fault other then theirs. Thank you for sharing your video's with us.
What is frightening is the immaturity of someone who is supposed to protect and serve. Social Media allows people to post horrible things thinking they are anonymous. It’s not.
The “gives the "Good Officers" a bad rap” line is like saying the one cockroach you see gives the "Good Cockroaches" a bad rap... This nonsense happens way too often. Why don't those good officers weed out the bad among them?
@@mr.charlie2446 It’s more to it than that and until you know you need to keep your opinion to yourself. Better yet go apply for a job and show them how to weed out the bad. SMDH
@@mr.charlie2446 Exactly 💯 %. Just watch a few RU-vid videos a week and you'll see how many Tyrants are wearing badges and guns that will ruin your life just because their ego got hurt. It happens daily in departments all across the country. And just like you said if officers want to keep saying they're a good cop then they better start weeding out the Tyrants in their departments.
@@charleskelly2933 Same thing for you. Go apply for a job and show them how to weed out the bad or just keep your opinions to yourself. The so called videos you speak of is a extremely small portion of law enforcement. Educate yourself.
Cop's just can't stand it when they're wrong, then held accountable. Imagine what a bully he is on his job. Thanks J & K, you do a great job and provide a valuable service!
Early in the first call, he stated that he was a deputy with the delusion that he knows more about the law than the average citizen and foment gravitas. When Jeff later acknowledged the deputy's humble brag by saying, "you of all people should know" the dense, entitled deputy took umbrage. Then he and his low-brow wife slandered and libeled Jeff and his company. I'd sue the pompous deputy but I'm not as forgiving as Jeff.
And this is what gives the "Good Officers" a bad rap. Sorry you got towed, but read the signs. You are not exempt from illegally parking tows. You were in the wrong. Jeff was called to remove your vehicle because "YOU" parked where you didn't belong. If you trully are a police officer, you would know this. Do you call someone to have a DUI driver brought home instead of arresting them? Jeff, I don't know how you stay so calm with some of them.
@@debbiebertram That's BullSh$t.....I have watched video after video of the arresting officer saying they can't do anything. Why don't you back up your words with some VIDEO PROOF!!!!!
*after being given the address - and repeating it back - for the umpteenth time* " I'm not ignorant, I'm not some dumbass - what's the address again?" This guy's a Vaudville act.
And real, honest cops take it because they know they made a mistake. There are bad apples in every career. Police Departments recruit from the human race and I case you haven’t looked around lately… this world is pretty f**ked up
I work in public safety and I'm very pro police, but this guy talked about working for the sheriff's department so much it made me sick, he stopped short of saying he was a deputy or officer but I swear he mentioned a wedding and a officer that got shot, this guy is obviously NOT a officer.
As a retired cop for a big city , but I have family in Ohio. Alot of the deputies there act like entitled children all cause they have a badge , also I've had a run in with some corrupt ones. Being in law enforcement doesn't give you a free pass, the job can be hard but as a officer you should always represent yourself in a professional manner. Especially since people hold you to a higher standard than others. Abuse of the badge and friends who think or feel cause they're friends with a officer doesn't make you holy than our, it's a job and that's it. Any officer that abuses the badge should have their duties stripped from them asap.
Ohio police have a bad reputation because the bad cops are awful. I feel badly for the good cops. I hope his superiors see this video and see how he acts / represents himself off duty.
Unfortunately Ohio has built a terrible reputation around their police force. And rightfully so. I'll never step my foot into that state because of that alone.
My wife is a retired police detective from overseas. All police officers and government employees ( like myself) are trained to ALWAYS RESPECT the public and local businesses. If we are caught disrespecting anyone online, we can and will be TERMINATED!
Well sir in the u.s. are cops arnt much on honer respect or integrity..and defantky not acceptably..more dirty mouths lies and unlawfull corruption they need hire this tow driver to teach them manners to start with.. and ill leave at that my last post was a long winded. Its hard to back are cops whin they act like spoiled little kids with out control power.. shamed to say . But iam american i dont fill so proud any more because of are cops and are president. Ihate say this but it crime ring of dirty corruption. Both end
She's a "dependa" type of wife. Talking shit in her small town because her man's badge. This cop acts like he's big in every town because he thinks he's big in his small town. He even threw out that a deputy was shot as part of his antics, as if that has any relevance.
The old saying applies here. "Ignorance is no excuse for the law!" Yes I agree LEO'S seem to think they're above the law. As you said you didn't park the vehicle and there are multiple signs.
I'm kind of glad the Deputy got a understanding of how citizens fill when they tow our vehicles. It's hard when you don't have money to get your vehicle back and you're already struggling financially. He just thought he was to get special treatment. You did your job.
Don't park illegally and you don't get towed. Simple as that. Besides that, I'm sure the hotel desk could have told him clearly where to park. I've traveled for work and you *always* ask that, because they don't need the hassle either. Me being respectful got me some nice perks over better than two years.
I've had that conversation on the side of the road with highway patrol. It's not their fault you didn't see the sign, signs are posted and it's the drivers responsibility to obey them. The issue in this video is this cop isn't used to having to obey signs, cops don't ticket other cops where he is from apparently. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, sucks when that line bites them in the ass.
Dude was a putz pure and simple, he had the attitude! Jeff, you were just doing your jog...and honestly I don't know how you remain calm and collected with people like this "officer". Much respect sir.
Maybe it was his wife that did the Facebook just by the way she was acting at the gate. Your wife us kind if doing the same thing, stretching the truth a little by saying the dude was yelling at you and cursing at you. We've all seen yelling and cursing and that was not it, just saying.
Jeff well done just because he lost his dummy and mummy could not find it in " My police officers wife's handbag " the question is who where's the trousers in that relationship ------NOT HIM
