The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my
family.
Thank you so much for following along on this journey. Your love and support help me so much.

I’m a chemotherapy infusion nurse. When you get immunotherapy it is common to have a reaction like that the first few infusions because of the high disease burden. I know it doesn’t feel good to have all of those awful symptoms but it is showing the immunotherapy is working and killing the cancer. The side effects will eventually lessen the more treatments you have. You are so strong and I know how hard it is to keep going but you are doing a great job 👏

I’m a nurse and I’m pleading with you treat pain as a symptom. Don’t “live” with it or put off taking meds when it gets worse. Pain is a symptom that must be dealt with as soon as you recognize it. It’s much harder to get pain under control or at a level you can tolerate it. Pain like yours is very hard on the body and mind. If the new regimen doesn’t help call your physician. Prayers for you and your family. 💜

@Raeanne Watson Absolutely agree! I don't understand why her team isn't instructing her in that regard. Pain control is a priority and there are many options. However, because of the opiate epidemic, it is a pain in the butt to get pain meds. I'm having a total knee replacement in 3 days. My insurance company will only allow 7 days worth of opiate meds for the first prescription and they require a preauthorization by the doctor. The doc has to request 30 day supplies and the insurance company can turn the doctor down and only approve 7 day amounts. The doctor anticipates I'll need pain meds for up to 6-8 weeks. So this 7 day limit is a pain, especially since I can't drive during that period and the pharmacy won't deliver opiates. It's crazy!!!

It’s true that the body needs to use its energy fighting in other areas, and not trying to tamp down the pain. When you don’t keep your pain meds at a steady even dose, your body has to fight harder to keep getting your pain level back down. It’s called “wind up pain.” I struggled with this myself, until I learned about it, and now I stay very regimented with my meds to make things as easy as possible. I’m so sorry you are in this situation. You are in my prayers. ❤

Dear Jenny I am in awe of how you are handling this journey. You are a true warrior. I have stage IV ovarian cancer, no husband, no kids and I am 70 yrs old. I remember saying to my sister once after one of the chemo infusions that I felt like an athlete going up a mountain. Lots of people along the route cheering me on but it is a very hard, difficult and miserable climb. You and Kyle show us what true love is. Thank you for all that you are sharing. Sending lots of love and a warm virtual hug. Rita from The Netherlands.

I hope that the chemo works for you and that you get some relief so that you can enjoy your golden years. I’m in remission from breast cancer. I have two daughters but they have families and live far from me. We manage though, don’t we? There is no alternative. :) Sending you best wishes and hoping that you improve and get well. x

I couldn’t bear seeing the anxiety and tears in his eyes. It feels like a lifetime for me dealing with my fears and the anxiety, yet it has only been years. I have wondered why I have chosen to read blogs about Cancer when you would think it would be the last thing I’d feel like doing, but in a way it’s healing wanting to reach out and just mentally hold both of you in my prayers. I have walked through the fire and there is purpose sending a internet smile, reassuring others that you’re never really alone and that someone has your back when life has become a whirlwind of emotions. I hope you and Kyle can feel the invisible hugs and arms wrapped around you from all of us here when you are in pain and when the road gets bumpy. You show each other and your children - and all of us fortunate enough to be let into your lives - that the crucible of this horrible diagnosis has forged you two into true diamonds. I am awed by your strength and tenderness for others. Sending you all good thoughts. (And I'll have to arrange a visit from SF with my parrot, Roo, for dear Ellis!)

All I can think about is just how unfair life can be. Such a beautiful, loving, kind, caring, spiritual young woman taken far too soon. With that being said Jenny has left a legacy not only to Kyle, Ellis and Winnie but to everyone in her RU-vid family. As a "Cancer Survivor" the struggle is real and yet through it all Jenny came through. Yes she has passed but her spirit is alive and well. She has been such an inspiration to me and to so many others. Since Jenny's passing I go out every night and look at the stars. The brightest star I know is Jenny ~Smiling, Happy, Free from Pain and dancing with the angels in heaven. What a fighter. Jenny WON and she BEAT the H*LL out of Cancer. There are not enough words to write as to how Jenny touched so many lives in such a positive way. Rest in Peace Jenny... We all LOVE YOU and MISS. God Speed. We will all pray for and take care of Kyle and your beautiful children. Hugs.

You can say that again about husbands not being supportive. Get this discustinging example~~ my wonderful neighbour was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago. She wound up with a double mastectomy to help save her life. Her slime bag of a husband left her. He TOLD her, he couldn't handle having a wife without breasts ( as nice as hers he says) for the rest of his life. OMG please let KARMA GET HIM BAD SOMEHOW.
@iamwinningrightnow

@@deborahhenderson5219 In sickness and in health went over his head. To be honest, he never truly loved her. A double mastectomy and he walked away from his marriage, selfish. Cancer can strike anyone, at anytime. And based on stats, he will have his own cancer battle. ***Tell your neighbor, she is more than her breast. Walk proud, head high and full of confidence. She is here and that is all that matters. It's not an easy decision to proceed with a bilateral mastectomy. However, life is precious and if it means living without breasts, so be it. I know because I am a survivor. I walk around daily with my flat chest and I am damn cocky with it. I dn't give a crap what others think, say or otherwise.

As chronic pain sufferer, I can tell you that the trick is not to allow your pain med dose to wear off when you're having a pain flare-up. for example, Instead of taking two pills every 6 hours, take one pill every 3 hours. That way the levels in your bloodstream never fall so low that the pain floods back in. And kiddo, you should be proud of the courage you're showing to your kids day after day. You are a rock star!

Agreed. I used to have periods when I couldn’t bear the pain but still waited to take my next dose. Now I don’t. If I’m ever in really bad pain for whatever reason, I take my breakthrough medicine early. I wear patches that are changed every 3 days and usually, they work fine but after many years of chronic pain, I refuse to suffer and have learned how to manage the acute, infrequent flare-up periods. I’m never in an overdose situation and am very careful. I’ve discussed this with my doctor and he agreed that suffering for hours is unacceptable. My breakthrough meds are now prescribed for me to take “as needed.”

This, this, this! When I was in hospital after a severe accident, they initially put me on a morphine drip and the nurses repeatedly told me to push the button for more the moment the pain began to increase. Not just for my comfort, but also because it's much easier to control pain that way. After I was taken off the drip, I was on a very strict schedule with the regular pain pills and they'd give me extra pain meds before changing the bandages/checking the wounds, and also before bathing etc. I did end up with chronic pain in my leg, and when I read up on post-accident and post-surgical nerve pain, it turns out that poor pain management the first 24-48 hours after the incident appears to be linked to later chronic pain in that place (unfortunately due to the nature of my case, the pain couldn't be controlled any better than it was). All this goes to show how important it is to be ahead of the pain, instead of waiting for it. I have heard similar stories from migraine patients, whose medicine usually is only effective if they take it BEFORE they're having a migraine. Anyway, Jenny, I think you're an absolute trooper and I do hope your pain will go away either by itself or finding a drug that works for you. And Kyle, I think you're a trooper too for standing by Jenny and with so much compassion and vulnerability and honesty.
