This is the first time I took a look at your store, and I was expecting expensive prices since you're based in California and I was pleased to find your prices are competitive even vs Chinese websites and with the warranty of your reputation, you should give the prices on your videos it may drive more buyers (and sure I know you can't update the price of a 2 years old video, but a small price to pay for the increase in sales).

Who are these people that keep using 1000 pounds of force to force in their HDMI cable? If they just plugged it in like a normal person then this console would last a lot longer.

Looks like the machine is standing up and it gets knocked over to be fair. There was a reason 'back in the day' cables had to be screwed into the back of PC's.. it made sense.

@@MarkColemanRules I have quite a few consoles and I have never had this happen. HDMI cables can be pulled out and this most likely wont happen. It would take a bit of force to destroy all the pins in that connector. The only way I have seen that done to any connector is people trying to shove the wrong cable in it. Most cables are uniform so they can only be plugged in one way.

Did that last Saturday! Looked good from the top, but when the cap was out and I checked the area, I could see some components had dull solder joints. Now I am waiting for Memory ICs to upgrade to 128 MB of RAM. ;)

What a terrible quality control from the factory. Good that the hdmi connector didn't ripped out the pads. Great Job Alex. i like those new tool stands.. for the screwdrivers and little things.

Agree with u, dont know what is going on with thoses ps5 hdmi ports. Dont know if is a unique production line or are not strong enough to deal with pulls. Whatever, if helps to our shop and families they are welcome. God Bless u and family. Keep moving forward!

I'm a competent tech but have no clue how to proceed on an issue I have. Do you assist at all in a forum or entertain the odd tech question or can you assist for compenstation? When a HDMI jack on console is so damaged, would it be prudent to inform the customer not to use the old HDMI cable, after repairing the unit ?. I think that would hold similarly for any type of damaged Jacks ie. USB ect.

What kind of flux is that? Way back when, I used a flux paste. This stuff you are using looks like a gel product. Great work! I enjoy your skill and commentary.

I would love to see some tests done on these ports. It seems the PS5 is so heavy that when guys are getting into it and knocking it over it destroys the HDMI.

Tenes que soldarle un poco mas la parte de la masa del conector... porq con solo ese poco de estaño por la parte de abajo no alcanza para reforzar la ficha. A la primera que lo fuercen se vuelve a arrancar.

Excellent job! How it is possible that the original connector ripped off of the PCB without broke any pad? Even the capacitor near that connector was ripped off without breaking its pads. I think that sony has some "cold solder" connectors in their consoles.

yes, i would say it is due to leadfree solder which is evil i wouldnt touch unleaded.

It is pleasure to watch how video author solder tiny objects. Indeed when it round down to things in this scale, forget about improper solder and flux from Chinese online shop made by whoknowswhere and sold under known brand name. Don't ask how I discovered that, but knowledge came from expensive practice :(
