hey everyone! first of all thank you all so much for all the views, comments, subscribers, suggestions etc.! i never thought my last mr schue video would get as much attention as it got lol. my computer broke so thats why it took me so long to make a part 2 but here she is! just wanted to remind everyone that yes i am aware this tv show (that i still love with all my heart) is a comedy series and it aint that deep, i do (all) my videos just for fun :)
@@selinwang6171 well for most of 1st season will was finn emotional support and will was the father figure he had in his life until Burt came but even then he had a better relationship with Will than with burt, i'm not justifying will, he's the adult and should have handled the situation better but i understand him wanting to keep something from finn.
yeah he act like an asshole to get what he wants, they could have make him act as a selfish man desperate to take back what he lost in a broken marriage and ready to do anything to achieve it (event cheat) and being set straight by his student and their differences, would have been such an interesting story. But no instead of that the narrative makes him look like a dreamy angel boy despite all his actions ????
There's a running theme in Glee that the adults often fail to support the kids they're supposed to look after, I think. Will only looks good because he's better than Sue. That's kind of the point, I think. The adults do show up and help the kids, but sometimes they're just too wrapped up in themselves, just like real life. If Mr Schue were a perfect character, it would make the show boring
@@dangernoodle9961 I agree I personally think it's normal to take a quick look at a rear end stuck in his face! Also when you break up the Great Cheerleader Smackdown you you make have to push on the girls to get them apart! Mr Schue is doing a hard job the best he can!
Yoongichi Idk I think he portrays what he’s supposed to be. An oblivious white dude that doesn’t have to think of implications behind certain things bc he’s privileged. Very realistic, and the kids call him out on it at times .
@@reinal7896 Pretty much exactly my thoughts. He acts, for the most part, like a real person. He's flawed. A perfect adult character would just not be realistic. The worst thing about Glee is that they sometimes don't correct bad things people say (like Kurt's biphobia when Blaine thought he was bi or everyone throwing Marley under the bus after she passed out at a performance because of her eating disorder and calling her selfish because of it, like, wtf??) But Mr Schue is actually a more well-written character.
@@jeannettenunez3537 I don't copy comments, and if its similar to someone else's, I wouldn't know because I havent checked this comment section at all, (except to see my own comment and the replies lol)
@@amandamulligan952 *And* she was the one person in the room in the best position to say something -- she's Latina and Hispanic, so this was literally her culture and her life experience that Schue was teaching so poorly.
@@SarastistheSerpent ...uh, the whole Latin community goes through these stereotypes, Santana is Mexican and she was expressing the *cultural* appropriation for THE WHOLE community
Awesomelady 1233 yeah, Sue was pretty good in comparison. She accepted people being gay, would have set up a safe bathroom for Unique, and made her Glee club far more diverse and inclusive, whereas Shue only gave solos to a white guy and white-passing Jewish girl, or occasionally Santana or Mercedes so that he wouldn’t be accused of favouritism . He refused to let Kurt and Blaine sing duets at competitions, even though the other main couples were in pride of place at all of them. He also prioritised twerking over the safety of a trans student... smh
Sue literally committed crimes: kidnapping, set a car on fire, pushing people in the stairs - attempted murder etc. And she's a racist and she bullied students emotionally & physically so...
Danielle Hurley And he named his child after Finn. His middle name was Finn. I would hav weather had that from Rachel or Kurt. But like, he was his TEACHER.
i'm surprised that there wasn't an episode where he "accidentally" says the n-word while rapping and then he has to defend himself and says some shit like "i'm allowed to say it because i am also a minority: i'm part of the glee club"
They would probably do that if it wasn't such a sensitive topic since glee is supposed to be a comedy, people would be mad that they "glorified" it or something....either way, he can't say it whether as mathew or will
It’s crazy how everyone in the show praised Mr. Shue like he’s the best teacher in the world. Tbh I’ve watched Glee soooo many times and I believe the kids really taught themselves. 👀
omg Amazane ur so good at singing they should have hired u to b the glee teacher also can yall check l out my channel I SING in it I rlly want some tips
@@lakeguzman3259 Is it? It looked entirely Spanish to me. It's the most stereotypically Spanish performance I think I've seen in a long time. You could call it incesitive to the country I guess, but they do heavily play on these things when it comes to tourism and stuff. Still it doesn't make it racist. Spanish isn't a race.
@Karina Hernandez Yeah, but again my point isn't that it isn't insensitive, but that as a European, I in no way see anything I would associate with Latin America here. Only with Spain. Even La Cucaracha which Santana mentioned as something she reacted to, is something I know predominantly as a Spanish folk song so this racism business is leaving me scratching my head. True she mentions Mariachi which I understand originated in Mexico, but I can see nothing in the clip to indicate to me that this is actually Mariachi music, so again I see nothing Latin here. I'll be open to changing my mind about his if you show me how this is more Latin American than Spanish though. Edit: Like maybe this is a Latin song or something? Edit 2: Ok I eventually did find that clip of La Cucaracha and those ponchos do actually make it look more racist. Still not sure about this particular scene as again it looks far more Spanish to ma than Latin, but you have more of a case.
@@lakeguzman3259 i agree, i'm Colombian, I live in Colombia, and everytime I go to Europe or United states people ask me why am I white if im Colombian. ONe time someone asked me if in my country there was internet. Mr schue is that typical karen racist teacher of school.
*Tess * they weren’t even engaged when he sang it lmao. he was helping her learn how to dance for her wedding with ANOTHER guy, and then he started to rap (the thong song was what her fiancé wanted)... so yeah it’s not any better😂😂
That would have been so god awful. I'm so glad Mr. Schue couldn't ruin any Hamilton songs. But at the same time, kind of bummed that none of the Glee Clubs sang Hamilton.
“Your all minorities... your in the gLeE cLuB” has real: Tall girl energy “I think we All sing” energy “The epic highs and lows of high school football” energy
I like to think if Glee Club didn’t exist they would all form like an detective club and how’d they interrogate people is if they won’t talk they force Mr.Shucre to rap.
I guess rachel as well because she is jewish but you can't exactly tell someones religion from looking at them or based on anti-semitic stereotypes so I understand
Yep. It was only allowed because Sandy was a predator toward boys not girls. If it was girls he would have rightfully been in jail in universe. Disgusting societal double standards.
@IRU Li the only fucking stupid is you, men who get molested almost always never get justice, because of bullshit like "women can't be predators" or "he was consenting bc men aren't able to say no, no matter the age" you burnt egg. also the only girl we have canon evidence that puck slept with her was like two or three years younger, how come you not bitch about all the older women puck slept with while he was a minor?? why aren't they disgusting??
@@stainedglassleaves1130 they weren't saying that men can't be molested, they were saying that the claim that if it was a girl it would get justice is wrong. which it is. because there are an overwhelming amount of cases where they dont go to jail.
My respect for Will was permanently ended during “The Quarterback”. He stood there and WATCHED his students descend into turmoil over Finn’s jacket, and his justification was because he wanted to keep it for himself?! Finn was forced into Glee because you PUT WEED IN HIS LOCKER. Crying over a leather jacket won’t fucking undo that.
qhm 23252 right. These clips put it in perspective, cause this show is rather emotionally manipulative. I didn't realize how bad he was till these clips lol
It's a synonym wtf. 'Blackest' and 'darkest' both mean fearful and difficult, what you feel when you cannot see in the dark, that's the black being referenced not people.
I think this is part of the reason why Matthew Morrison has said he wouldn't really wanna do a reboot. He knows how his character just got worse and worse throughout the seasons, not to mention they really kinda threw him to the side in seasons 5 & 6.
Amelia Burton I just hate how tone deaf that episode was. They have a “Spanish episode” where they call Will out on his racist bullshit, but can’t be bothered to use any songs from *actual Latin artists??* They just sang Elvis and Madonna and then patted themselves on the back.
Christopher Herrerera To be fair they did sing a Gloria Estefan song and an Enrique Iglesias song iirc, but yeah they really should’ve limited it to Latin artists only
Nina I’ve seen my students as family and that makes me fight for them like no one ever has. You can still be “professional” and establish a close bond with your students.
@@-Theo- I mean, he meant that because they were minorities so they belonged to the Glee club, not because they are by being part of it but whatever fuck mr schue
Mr Schue: *does racist song* I’m gonna win against an actual Hispanic person Santana: racist Mr Schue: no it’s not you wouldn’t know what racism against your own culture is Me: 🤨 Honestly Santana is genuinely my favourite character from Glee she’s so underrated
The fact is, she pointed out exactly where he went racist and wrong from, and she would know as she's part of that culture, AND he STILL tried to call her out for being a bitch.
he really tried to make it look like she was in the wrong or she was the villain. he was being racist and he still managed to pin everything on someone else.
That entire Spanish episode should have been done so differently. First of all they could’ve at least done songs by actual Spanish artists instead of taking English songs and translating them. Also Naya doesn’t speak Spanish so I think instead of making her learn some Spanish just for that episode, they could have made it a plot point that she wants to learn more about her culture instead of being forced to see all these stereotypes about it. Her spanish was so bad, but that’s not Naya's fault. I wouldn’t learn a whole language just to say three lines of it in an episode either. Instead of forcing her to speak a language she doesn’t know, I just think they could’ve very slightly altered the original plot to accommodate for it and also make the episode more natural. Especially because they’re in Ohio, it would’ve made sense that she might’ve grown up prioritizing english over spanish.
That makes sense! Specially since Santana (apparently) was born in America, so it would be great to see her wanting to learn more about Spanish, but the stereotypes plot would still fit in 'cuz even know Santana doesn't know shit about the language, it's still her family's culture
Well that's the problem, the writers and directors of this are often lazy when doing the story. Some got great development while the others are left behind. You can see mr shue got progressively worse every season.
honestly the shows always had an issue w making people learn languages way too fast for a song, they did it w gangnam style as well considering tinas actress didnt even know korean
I’m so happy glee ended before mr. shoe could sing “yummy” or “señorita” with a student, but also sad that it did end because now Blane can’t sing “Sucker” by the Jonas Brothers to Kurt after they almost get divorced which we all know was gonna happen like every other episode if it still came on, I rest my case.
Oh my goodness... imagine him singing Señorita... that would automatically ruin the song for me, and Señorita is one of my favourite songs (due to the happy memories it gives me)
Remember when he picked Rocky Horror to impress Emma when it was wildly inappropriate, when she had told him before her favourite musical was my fair lady
Yeah, we literally all just watched that like it was normal. It really wasn't. if your teacher suspends you for not wearing a coconut bra call the cops
Preach! I'm not Mexican, Spanish or Puerto Rican but my really close friend is, so I know a lot about it and that episode... was just... ugh. Santana calling him out was the best part.
Andrea ! I’m not of Hispanic descent and I think it was appropriate of Santana to call him out on his bs. That’s like him dressing up in baggy clothes and chains while rapping a Jay-Z song
A J “I honestly thought that was the end of the very brief fever dream that was ‘New Directions’.” (S1E1) I thought it was funny that you chose those words😂
I know and it made me mad because everybody was blaming Puck even though he didn't take it and Mr. Shue never fessed up to taking the jacket and apologizing to Santana
To me all the creepy, unethical and wrong things he did has always, like, ALWAYS outweighed whatever was good about his character. Especially as the show progressed, it became harder to even appreciate any positive thing he did because my mind would always flash a grocery list of every disturbing thing he has done.
Yep, not mentioning it's hard to give him credits when he aknowledges his flows and decides to work on it when he already had entire episodes/character arcs about the same topic in the past and it keeps coming back. He's not the only one in this show (or outside of this show) but it makes his character even worse.
3:10 This is why she's QUEEN. That speech of hers was spot on, and once again, I'm reminded just how icky Schue really was. Thanks for uploading these!
Yeah. I mean she complained to the principal before saying something, and confronting him. Then when he didn’t change his attitude, and continued to be racist she said something. That’s what I would’ve done
5:25 Emma's fiance some eps later: Stop flirting with my fiancé, I know she likes you and tou give hope to her. Will: wHaT??? i WasN'T flIRtInG wITh hER, i diDN't knOW
As a Venezuelan, the "Spanish Teacher" episode was really uncorfortable, that was the moment I lost my respect for Mr. Schue and my love for Santana grew.
Honestamente como española no me ofendió de sobremanera, pero supongo que depende de la persona. Yo únicamente me lo tomé como un chiste un tanto de humor negro.
As a Cuban/ Argentinian/ Puerto Rican, I wanted to lose it at Mr. Schue. I’ve see. A lot of comments saying Santana shouldn’t have told the principal she should’ve handled it privately
@@t.s3994 Ikr? Those comments make no sense. Like she said, this was her education and Shue was a terrible teacher. She was 100% justified to go talk to the principal. It was school business not a private matter. Why would she handle it privately? That's not how things work.
@@lsamoa Exactly, that's not how it worked, and she didn't want to get him fired, she just wanted him to do better. If he couldn't than that's his fault for being an inadequate teacher. Also latinas are very marginalized and for some all they will ever know is their Spanish class, so stereotypes in those classes can do a lot of damage
Yup.... lifting up the skirt of *her wedding dress* to peer under it, while writhing on the floor and singing "let me see that thong" ... real 'classy,' bro. 🤮
Yeah. The bad moments are just too disturbing to consider him good overall. Suspending Marley because she didn't want to wear a bikini, performing sexually charged song with underage students to name a few
favour obami Actually in that episode Marley was supposed to dress as lady Gaga (not a bikini necessarily) and she disregarded the assignment to prove a point to jake but that’s of course doesn’t excuse the other shit he did. But she got in trouble for not doing the assignment properly not for not showing off her body
ichi nii but like... he had zilch to say every OTHER time students disregarded the assignment or blatantly disrespected each other/him. The only other time I can remember him actually punishing someone was Kurt during the Britney debacle but like how many times did he let Rachel get away with stuff? Or Finn? Or even Santana? How many fights happened on school grounds in the glee room and he did absolutely nothing? The kids literally got drunk during multiple performances once and he just handwaved it away but Marley doesn’t dress like lady gaga and she’s suspended?
@@mkwhite5054 He did kick Santana out because she and the Cherrios set fire to the piano in the courtyard in Season 3, but she was back like one or two episodes later with no real explanation.
Still mad at him for yelling at the glee club when they tried to come up with new idea to help them win regionals in s5 (or was it nationals, I'm blanking)
I genuinely don't even think it was for any competition, my memory of seasons 4-6 (especially 5) is pretty blank but I'm pretty sure that episode occurred after they lost sectionals?? idk
I like how Mr. Schue accused Holly Holiday of being inappropriate and crossing boundaries with his students even though he does it all the time in much more subtle and creepy ways.
