I do have cotton candy planted, I purchased it on reputation only, and feedback from those that have tried it. just wanted to have something super sweet to knock peoples socks off. its also supposedly a late season, and wanted to get something that starts coming in after the others I have. only been in the ground 1 year, doubt I'll get any fruit in 2018, maybe in 2019. fingers crossed.
I'm so glad to hear that Har eats the skins of some varieties. I love to use my bottom teeth to scrape off the flesh from the skin because on many varieties the flavor is different near the skin. I was advised to stop doing that because I guess you could eventually develop an allergy to mangos by ingesting whatever toxin maybe in or near the skin.
interested in the "Little Gem" - I like smaller mangos myself, I believe Ice Cream produces a small sized fruit as well? Any other small sized mango varieties that are dwarf or semi-dwarf you might recommend Chris?
'Little Gem' has small fruit, but it is not a small tree. 'Ice Cream' is a pretty compact tree with smaller sized fruit. 'Neelum' is also semi-dwarf with smaller fruit. 'Julie' and 'Juliette' are also small trees with great mangos. We also like 'Cogshall' as a small tree variety. The fruit is more medium sized, but it's beautiful and delicious. We have mango variety videos on 'Ice Cream', 'Neelum', 'Julie', and 'Cogshall' if you want more information.
