One of my favorite Compact Creations yet. What I love about these is that they feel "real", in that you don't edit out all of the mistakes and moments of confusion that are just a fact of life when making music on these devices. You just work through them and continue on. I'm sure you edit out some stuff here and there but it still feels authentic, and your ongoing commentary as you do it keeps us on the same page. Heh I recently pulled out my OG Drumbrute to give it a little love and was quickly reminded why the Impact has replaced it in my MIDI network. If the Impact is a 909, the OG Drumbrute is that soundbank you made of your cousin's farts back in 6th grade.

I'm a drone artist myself but holy crap these videos are amazing! Even though the style is very different (I love both) I still get so much new ideas and vibes from these. Thanks dude, you're awesome. This is the fourth rime watching this

But you're a DJ so you've got to be Lightning quick - Where in California do you play/DJ ? I grew up in Detroit during the beginnings of Detroit Techno . The City and the Club scene was exploding with new ideas for dance beats, new DJ's were selling their music. . .quite an interesting and exciting time in history. Then I moved to Chicago for Art School. Lived in San Francisco, great times but much too expensive. Now stuck in Arizona. Making music again & really interested in Eurorack . Have a few semi-modular synths , various Bastl wire-patched sound machines, few Volcas, 2 Pocket Operators, some synthesizers, Erica Synths Acidbox lll , Moog Werkstatt -01 with CV converter, a 4 piece Jazz Drum kit various Native American Flutes, Peruvian Flutes, Handmade Native American Cedar Flutes, Wooden Flutes from Mexico, Mexican Ocarina . Various hand drums,large African Djembe ...I love playing music. 🔥🎹💡🐒🌟

Fun!!! Great setup. I am a software guy but watching videos like this make me want to dabble in your world. To heavily digress, Is kinda cool better than just cool? Being interested in the evolution of language, i always wonder how words sneak in to English., like kinda and sorta. Both words originally indicated uncertainty and became something else. We lost intermediate adjectives that had meaning. The first one was awesome that started off meaning amazing and now means everything from excellent to good to ok. We lost the good, better, best thing. Now it's only good or bad with no words to clearly describe things in between. Kinda began meaning not sure, like the jury is still out. Now it means very, which is lost the opposite and there is no replacement for kinda. People just don't comment on bad things for fear of being labeled a troll. So how do we get honest feedback? We need a positive troll channel to give us the honest

Hi Rik, your live videos are helping me slowly build up my live show thanks! One question, are you aware of any hardware beat repeat/looper fx processor, something similar to Ableton’s beat repeat? I want to run the send return on it so I can do best repeats on the whole set for build ups but cannot find anything that serves the purpose! Thanks in advance

What kind of usb hub do you use whenever you use too many controllers besides audio interface?

Zoia is amazing for the cue out on the Octatrack. My set up is super similar. Except for instead of drumbrute I have a Circuit Bent Yamaha DD and instead of Eurorack I am using a Digitone. I love the Octa MKI so much better than the 2. Do you stay with the one just because of cost or are you one of the weird people like me that likes the build quality of the older Elektron better?

Dope man! I use the drumbrute impact as a center of my settup, midi sync with SP 404 sx, FM drum out goes into a guitar reverb pedal, and I also use numark pt01 scratch (runs through a guitar delay pedal), kaossilator (which I run through SP's external source to use with efx), korg volca bass and I run everything through edirol m 10 dx full digital mixer (mostly because of the compression off the mixer). I would love to incorporate arturia with SP's efx, meaning running it through external source of the 404 BUT, as you probably know, the SP 404 sx has incredibly sensitive inputs, and you clip them way too easily... Thinking of getting a compressor to even out the signal a bit, prior to 404 input... But I'm not sure if it will work.. Do you have any suggestions, or better solution? I would really like to put the Arturia's signal through the 404 but with as little tonal degradation as possible...
