Yeah CA knows it’s able to leverage its big power sometimes to push political agendas. Being the 7-10th largest economy of the world (CA versus all other COUNTRIES) it has a lot of power economically. LA-Union pacific and OC-BNSF is soon going to lose a lot of rail traffic as San Bernardino is building the country’s if not worlds largest rail yard (BIG) to bypass the crime vandals in LA and be closer to the big warehouses in the Inland Empire and Phoenix. I guess CA doesn’t even want that to work. Eventually companies would find away to ship other places and other ports. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mexico created a giant port if this passed.

I disagree. Trucks and rails that feed the lines to a large portion of North America come through CA ports. Almost all of goods from Asia come through here. The drilling for oil in California has be3en on a regulatory hold for three years. Now multiple bills in the Legislature to finally kill the oil industry. All of this for the "virtue" of being able to say no oil is produced in California. Oil demand continues to increase. The import plan is a win for the adversaries of the USA. For California, lost jobs, more welfare, collapsed communities, loss of oil production rated taxes, energy insecurity from imports, disaster for the State's balance of trade, and more world carbon air emission. A policy disaster and even an environmental disaster for California. Private property rights are being trampled upon for environmental virtue. Not only are the battery-powered trains inefficient & economically-stupid, but they're based upon a false-premise as well. Like battery-powered cars & trucks, they're sold to the public as being 'zero-emissions,' whereas in fact they're no such thing. Where do they get their power from? Electricity, right? And where does that come from? Well the fact is, most electricity in America is generated from coal-fired or gas-fired plants; only a small percentage comes from, say, hydroelectric. (And as for solar/wind? Psh...please. You can't run a locomotive on sunbeams & breezes. It's not a question of imaginary "maybe someday" technologies, either; it's a simple question of practical realities rather than what-if wish-thinking.)

The Sun? a nuclear furnace that hits the earth with more energy in a year than all other forms of energy there ever has been or will be combined. There is no coal power plants in CA, the states around it also have very little coal left. Trucking companies need to return to hauling in-state produce the way it was hauled in 1849, by horse, ox and mule. Produce farmers should charge extremely high prices for their product as 'more natural'. The Railroad companies need to simply abandon California, dropping off their cargo at the border where it would continue it's journey by wagon and pack animals. At some point in time the state will be completely void of citizens with basic common sense. It would perhaps be at this point in time that the WOKE will be tarred and feathered and run out of the country on a rail or it will be simply abandoned and returned to Mexico.

The license fee pays for paramedics that respond to traffic collisions for one. I live in a rural area and that funding is essential in providing emergency medical services for our highways. I'm retired from the U.S. Forest Service and as a result I took the training to become an EMT. EMS on California highways is a cut above all the other states I've lived in. That license fee also partially funds the CHP, the best state police agency of the 4 states I've lived and worked in. CHP helicopters are essential for providing air support for search and rescues in remote areas. They are also available for long pursuits in rural counties who as a group can't afford any aviation resources. The CHP aircraft services saves lives hundreds of times per year. The CHP does not charge the counties for providing air support. Those counties could not afford to pay for aviation resources provided by the CHP. I think of all of this when I pay the several hundred dollars in license fees for my 3 (soon to be 2) cars each year.

If business simply said no, and stopped doing business in CA this never would have happened. Prop 65 passed, every product that it applied to disappeared from shelves in CA. Increased taxes and regulations on oil companies - simply announce that you are discontinuing operations and delivering product to CA. Train & truck regulations in CA, drop the trailers and box cars at the CA state line, let CA figure out how to get them. Regulations on pork and poultry production - stop shipping these products to CA.
