Another ft991a front end failure and the repair fix . IPO Attenuator no rx issue yaesu problems

If your radio doesn't receive when it's on IPO or the attenuator is on this is most likely your problem. If you have multiple radios hooked up with different antennas anywhere near each other this will happen if you try and use this radio during field day next to other people transmitting this will happen. The 891 and the 991 suffer from the same problem and I heard that some of the 3 thousands also have this issue

Had same problem with 891 But rig was turned off at time Hooked up to 80m dipole while I was on 160m vertical with other rig Again rig was turned off Anyone know if fix is same ?. Rig still receives just ipo doesn't work

How much power were you running on the other radio? I have a Kenwood 281a next to my Yaesu 991a; should I refrain from using the Kenwood? I surely don't want to burn out the resistor in the Yaesu. Cheers & 73 from W Rusty Lane K9POW in eastern Tennessee

It's more that the 2 antennas were close together .I have off center fed dipole in the middle of my 80m loop. 100w

Also 2m 440 uses a different front end I think. That's not to say 50w on fm can't hurt it on hf. There's a design flaw here. I read about it but don't recall the actual deal. I have a 891 I got from a friend and he blew it up also lol. I ended up selling my 991a.

@joebidet2050 i got it from a friend. I fixed it not him . If you cant work on surface mount stuff forget it. I think i did a video on the repair. If you look on google for the attenuator resistor. Or find the schematic it will be easier
