Visited this awesome location when i stayed with my daughter at Point Lynas Lighthouse Cottages (fabulous holiday let incidentally) Have been here over the years, and it never fails to impress. Took my Sony A5001 mirrorless camera and captured some incredible images. Camera was purchased new for £140, as its an older model. I used a monopod rather than tripod (basically a glorified extendable selfie-stick) Way easier to carry and still provides great stability, though the anti camera-shake function thingy in the Sony probably does the job quite well. Gale force winds when I was there too. Welcome to Anglesey ! Great video. Thank You.

Really enjoyed this one Paul, just a shame we didn't watch this before we visited Parys, some great compositions...... and changing weather; as expected on windy Anglesey!! Great job mate, keep them coming. Bump into you again soon buddy. As for the triptych of the rock, stunning!

A very interesting totally surreal location Paul, which through the actions of man just goes to show the devastating and negative impact we have had on what we call our home. As you say, not what we would normally regard as landscape photography but I suppose it is a landscape of sorts albeit almost devoid of life. Living as I do in North Wales I love Anglesey but this is one place I think I will steer clear of. Your photos captured the sheer desolation of the place very well. Of the two images I prefer the one with the rock in the foreground 📷👍

Reminders of our industrial past are always interesting , and evocative knowing how hard and dangerous it must have been to earn a living. Great images as always.

I prefer the windmill with the water in front as the rock is not sufficiently interesting as a foreground. Parys Mountain is stunning, I have been many times from our base in Snowdonia when the weather is clagged in. I love the abstract colours and textures n the rock and I'm split between visiting in poor conditions and the sun, but hey it's great anytime. I would imagine it would make a nice astro location too.

If you wandered around a bit more further beyond the mill, there are more buildings to photograph, the days I spent there it was grim, wet and windy without much visibility first thing, then by late morning the sun came out and it turned hot with clear blue skies, that is what you expect from the UK national parks though.

My sort of location and perfect conditions for my favourite film, Kodak Gold. If that's not 'landscape photography' I don't know what is. There's obviously days of shooting there. Good to see you doing a tryptic, you've been boxing yourself in a bit by classic 'rules' type landscape; not that there's anything wrong with standard compositions but your eye can overlook other shots whilst you're trying to get the landscape to conform to leading lines, thirds etc. Always a sobering thought to consider the poor buggers that lived lives of hard toil and misery just so a landowner could have a bigger portico on their mansion. Check out the work of Sebastiao Salgado to get a more modern equivalent.

i know what you mean i feel my photos are a little simple these days haha.. god it must of been hard work

@@paulcomptonpdphotography Nothing wrong with simplifying your composition as long as you're aware your doing it. Any 'Arty' types are prone to getting into ruts and then get down that they are just going through the motions and producing the same stuff, music, painting, sculpture etc. I'm forcing myself to shoot in b&w on one camera and colour on another just to keep my brain turning over. Probably due to an extremely low boredom threshold as well.

@@paulcomptonpdphotography Anyone that talks about our great National Heritage ..... meaning country houses, mansions, palaces etc usually gets short shrift from me. I always think of the poor sods who created the actual wealth, who lived short lives of chronic disease and severe injury.
