When you get to the hard bit at ~4:38min, it helps if you push the bead of the portion of tyre already mounted into the centre of the rim as you work remaining bit of tyre onto the rim. The centre of the rim has a smaller dia than the bead seat and thus this gives more room for getting that last portion of the tyre over the rim edge.
Schwalbe marathons work for me. Reliable puncture resistance. May not be the fastest , lightest or easiest roling but for me, puncture resistance and reliability comes first. Made the choice the first time I got a puncture in the rain with only a toppeak flypaper patch kit to get me home. I thought nah, never again. LBS recommended schwalbe marathons and now I'm a happy bunny for last 10 years. Only had one puncture in 10 years !!!!
I agree Schwalbe marathon tyres are solid and have excellent puncture resistance I used to have 28mm or 30mm on my first hybrid bike (which I discuss in my 1st video) and didn’t get a single puncture. The bigger tyre size helps with less punctures as well. My current road bikes maximum tyre width for the frame is 25mm, so need to compromise.
Before you pull the the valve stem out, pull the tube out of the tire to the stem. then you can just pinch the tire back at the stem and the stem will pop straight out. Reverse for install.
