If the second baby is a girl, I hope they'll name her Alice Elizabeth Frances. It's a fresh, beautiful name with royal class, too. Plus, I really like the sound of "George and Alice", it would be so cute. Alice, after princess Alice; Elizabeth, after Catherine's second name and the Queen's first name; Frances, after Diana's second name.

I had a discussion with an older couple and they told me that most of the English put up with the Royals because they bring in the "Tourists" money to the country. I'm not really sure what that meant but they were from London and had moved here to America to get away from what they called high taxes, poor health care and high cost of living that they were no longer able to keep up with. I had heard that the taxes were over 50%, I don't know how true that is. We don't know but what we hear. It is hard to understand paying for Queen Elizabeth's up keep when she is reportedly the richest woman in the world.

Most British move abroad purely for good weather, because Britain is a rather cold damp country and not because of taxes We are a welfare state anyway our taxes and national insurance go towards education, healthcare, social security and state pension etc. Our monarchy is part of us. They're reassuring and they're solid. Yes we scold them, argue about them, love em', like anyone in our own families, We like the drama..... but we'll never replace them with mere politicians, who are here today gone tomorrow. The less politicians the better.....
We pay less than £1.00 per year each for the upkeep of the royal family. They insist that this is value for money. Although i don't see what value i personally got. If i have no choice though it makes no difference whether its value for money or not. I want the choice. I want to decide whether something is value for my money. To me the idea of being forced to pay out money for the upkeep of a rich family that costs around 40 million per year is absolutely insane. I think every single person in this country should be given the choice. If you're a Royalist then pay for them, If you're not a royalist then you should not have to. Please! no one reply to me saying its only 60p a year though you tight bastard!. That is missing the point. I am talking about choice, and not being forced to pay for something that i personally do not need, want, or see the point in having.
Wow that is so interesting. I'm an American so I never knew that you all had to pay the royal family. Don't they have enough money though? I think that you should have the choice to pay or not. And 1.00 doesn't seem like much but from everyone in the country for the rest of their life it certainly adds up. I like the idea of princes, kings, queens, etc and I hear that many are involved in charity so that is nice, but I feel you should still have the right to decide to support them or not.
