Another great update video Andy, I love seeing you carrying out the maintenance of the tractors and implements, it’s a proper job taking care of the farms equipment, it must save you loads in breakdowns etc. Good old 3350 cracking tractor and sounds awesome. 😊 indeed “they don’t make them like that anymore.”
One of the harvest students next door got something like 75 kph on corn cart in one of the old fendts down hill fully loaded!! 😬They only found out when it was serviced!! They were asked to leave!!
Hi Andy if you were interested st all that netting is for when we are pulling the new wire through. With the winch at one end pulling the old wire in and connected to the old wire is the new wire being payed out by a tensioner up to 20towers away. wich helps to ensure the wire doesnt sag to low during stringing if it does for whatever reason the scaffolding is there to maintain safety for traffic it is also there in the event of the wire failing during stringing operations.
That is interesting thanks John, that’s heck of a long length of cable! How much does a roll weigh? I did notice you have fitted rollers or block and tackle on the towers I guess so the cable can be pulled along through the rollers.
That's exactly right pulled through the blocks under tension at 5 + tonnes the wire on this line is a ACCC so it requires a lot more tackle or rigging equipment than others due to its composit core its a light weight conductor each drum weighing in around 3.5 tonnes. It's composition gives it higher performance values over the original wire on that line ACSR zebra meaning you can put more juice through it.
Yes that is true the problem is those clamps are at farm 1 and all the cow sheds are at farm 3 where there are no clamps. When the herd was smaller it youst to be at farm 1 but outgrew those buildings so new sheds were built at farm 3 and the herd moved up there and that’s when bale’s silage began.
