it was the saddest day for me. I hadn't cried so much for a character, but this one, wow. Loved her character and the couple, didn't know she was fired. They do not make good soaps like AW anymore.
I didn't get to see too much of Another World, Most of the time I was around people watching soap they were watching CBS soaps. I did like the double Cass story
First Ryan, then Frankie. It was really hard for me to keep watching this show after they killed off two of my favorite characters. I did continue to watch, until the bitter end, but it wasn't easy. Both deaths were done well, and featured great acting all the way around, but afterwards you realize the giant hole left behind, and it wasn't worth it.
Frankie shouldn't blame herself for shunning Felicia: the way she broke up John and Sharlene's marriage was absolutely disgusting. Felicia deserved to lose her friends, she turned Sharlene's world on its ear.
And Felicia should be lucky that Sharlene was NOT like Janice Frame in personality (IIRC, Sharlene was one of the nicer Frames, along with Josie), because it would have ended horribly for her, IMO...
It should be noted that JFP didn't want to kill off Frankie initially--probably because she remembered the backlash from Maureen Bauer's death on Guiding Light, but head writer Margaret DePriest overruled her because she wanted Cass to be single again. This caused JFP to leave...
And they only did it because of 'focus groups'. You would have thought Phelps would have learned her lesson after killing Maureen Bauer on Guiding Light. Nope!
@@DeepScreenAnalysis She said she did in an interview which was total B.S. It was her and Chuck Pratt being interviewed when they still ran Y&R. Whoever's idea it was to let them do that, I'll never know...
@@DeepScreenAnalysis Actually, here, Margaret DePriest is to blame, since it was her idea for Cass to be single again. JFP (as Phelps is called) was against killing Frankie, which is likely because she remembered the MASSIVE backlash against Guiding Light and her after Maureen's death...
AW was always my fave soap watched it snce late 1970s who was the ep in charge in the 90s who let cecile leave again let charlene leave killed off bridget and michael and Frankie this was the beginning of the end
Ironically, Jill Farren Phelps, of all people, didn't want Frankie to be killed off--IMO, it's because she remembered what happened when she had Maureen Bauer killed off on Guiding Light in 1993 (which triggered MASSIVE backlash against her in particular (there, the writers tried to save Maureen) and Guiding Light in general, and which probably led to Ellen Parker's Emmy win that year). But Margaret DePriest wanted Cass to be single again, for whatever reason...
Did they ever reveal who murdered Frankie? I never watched the show and just started watching these scenes since Days Of our Lives had a strangled storyline as well but it was not nearly as good as this one sounds like.
They originally was getting rid of Ann Stuart Aka Donna. Fans were upset so they changed between Frankie and Paulina. Paulina was more popular back then . So Frankie got the ax. I haven’t seen the Frankie actress only in a commercial after that
@@tanicathornton8249 Ironically, Anna Stuart said that she wouldn't have minded if they got rid of Donna, since Donna didn't do much on Another World during that period...
