I AGREE with you 1,000% because my grandmother used to love SFT & she loved the Y&R too. But when CBS dropped SFT in March of 1982 & NBC picked it up, it was never the same & my grandmother stopped watching it & only watched the Y&R after that. If CBS kept SFT & they didn't kill off certain characters, maybe it would have lasted a little longer. LOVE YOUR COMMENT.

It was intended as a short summer storyline. They wanted me to stay on the show and gave me the option of continuing or he killed. I felt that Zach had run his course and didn’t belong in Henderson. Besides, who else gets to take a bullet for the heroine on Victoria Peak in Kowloon overlooking Hong Kong Harbor? It was a good death!

I Agree If Search For Tomorrow Had Stayed On CBS It Would Have Expanded From 30 Minutes To A One Hour Format.

In my area Search For Tomorrow was on NBC right before Days Of Our Lives . The line up was Search , DOOL , Another World , and then a Soap I am not sure about ( Edge Of Night or Texas ? ) , replaced by Rituals and then replaced by Santa Barbara and then replaced by Sunset Beach and finally replaced by Passions . Search For Tomorrow was replaced by Generations . I'm not sure what network Doctors was on . Capitol was on CBS and I think replaced by The Bold and The Beautiful .

I bailed when it was still shooting in New York on CBS before it was picked up by NBC. By that time I was on DOOL.

I read your parents disowned you? Is that still the case?

I don’t remember that song particularly but there is much from those days I’ve forgotten.

Yes and no. The background music was always done during post production (except the one time we were live) however they always played the opening and closing during taping.

Actually, Sherry wrote that song! I don’t know if she ever published it before her passing. Sherry and I sang several duets while I was there. Sadly I don’t have any of those tapes. I remember one was Endless Love.

I have no other episodes that I’m included in. I had them all at one time but they were on Betamax format and were lost to time and technology. If you know of any others I would appreciate if you’d let me know where I can find them.

@@shawnstevens3869 ​ Oh, okay, so you DID mean that this particular SFT episode was one of the very few surviving eps that you appeared in, rather than one of the very few SFT eps, in general, which still exist. There are many of those. It makes sense now, so thanks for the clarification. Are all of your Beta tapes lost/gone completely, or do you still have some which you just cannot play because you no longer have a Betamax machine? I'll ask around in trading circles and see what material from that era which people may possess.

@@MattFrame I’ve never done an exhaustive search (pardon the pun) of all the items I have in storage, I hope to do that this fall. There was a time in my life when I was so despondent and I suffered severely with mental illness that I destroyed many mementos and reminders of earlier days. I’m not sure that my beta collection was utterly lost during those dark days. I hope not.

@@shawnstevens3869 I'm so sorry to hear that you struggled with depression and mental illness. I hope you are doing better now. If your Beta collection was NOT totally lost, at least there are places for you to go where they convert old, outdated video formats to DVD. Good luck!

Thanks for the compliment! I think I heard about Sherry through social media. There were several friends and women I’d shared the screen with who died way too young! Besides Sherry there was also Nicolette Goulet from SFT and the girl who played my sister on Mackenzie’s, Lory Walsh. Gone too soon!

At the time it wasn’t what I really wanted to be doing but they (SFT/DOOL) were a pretty good paycheck and a regular gig for a few years. In hind site they stopped my career momentum which probably cost me in the long run.
