I apologize for the low quality of the video captures, specially the underwater scene, i used some primitive equipment. I try to keep as the original intro as possible, with respect of Eric Chahi's vision and art. This project was in my mind for a year now, and took me 3 months to complete. Hope you guys like it :)

I played this game for the first time in 1992 when i was 10 years old. One of the best games ever. I saw this clip here for the first time now...and it blews me away! Incredible work!!! I am more than sure Eric Chahi would love this too. If this game ever should become a movie one day, you guys should do it!

Love how they even added the detail of the water from the pool on Septarus replacing him in his lab and filling the hole where the console was. And the agony of being dimensionally displaced. Yeah, that shit would probably hurt like hell if it didn't kill you outright.

Incredible. Just incredible. Chahi must have been blown away by this. So many nice additions! One minuscule nitpick -- In the original, Lester pauses on whether to leave the "SHIELD 1" off. The implication being that this is why it all went wrong. Anyway, that's nothing. This is SOOOO well done!

I remember seeing this vid when it came out (already almost 10 years ago, wow) and I still firmly believe that if, for whatever reason, a full remake of this game came out, this early-CG-mixed-with-real-actors style is the ONLY acceptable way to do it

I'm a huge fan of the game and I really liked this. I especially like the shot when Lester comes out of the elevator towards the screen (2:24) and it goes flawlessly to the shot from behind him. And all the close-ups. A lot of attention was paid to details. Long live Another World! (This also made me realize how amazing the world of the game could look in a big budget live-action movie, anime or 3D movie. The game already had a cinematic feel to it after all.)

I Remembered my Amiga 500, this was absolutely amazing when I saw original Intro in the 90-ties. When I saw this nowadays, I feel the same. By the way, very interesting in the beginning, an animated floppy of the new Kickstart on the CRT screen...

Played this as a teenager when it came out. As I got my Amiga out of the basement now, I remembered this game, wrote it to adf and played it the first time since then yesterday. I still love the intro. And this remake is very very cool! Congrats! =)

This is fantastic. One nice touch was that the drink can has the old-fashioned type of pull tab that comes off when you open it. That's amazing attention to detail. I don't even know how you managed to find a can that had one.

Yeah, but you know what'd happen. Producers and writers getting involved. They want to add their own "ideas" (cliches) to proof they earn that money. It'd go to "and then the hero falls in love" and "big evil final boss" then producers pulls out, actors being replaced, project switches studio... This is called a movie's development hell and happened to many many projects. So IMHO better leave Another World, Half-Life and other great games alone. :/

As a theoretical physicist (don't judge me), I can say that the matter transference effect (the quantum singularity jump) was incredibly accurate visually in depiction--theoretically. Especially with the bright dot appearing in the pool before the time/space jump of that specific area of three-dimensional space is undergoing displacement. Translation: the teleportation effect looked accurate.

I REALLY love this! The only complaint I have is that you give the impression that Lester works for someone else, or the work he is doing is not his own, which really goes against the game's canon. Lester's experiment is an entirely solo project. Other than that, this is impeccable!

Yeah I agree with this, cuz' Lester really is Eric Chahi. Kudos for thinking through of why would a guy runs a lab for particle accelerator by himself. Then again, there's Elon Musk.

Agreed. This is remarkably well done, and I loved the attention to details from the original masterpiece. My only critique is the dialog in the beginning. The original game had no vocal dialog, and I think that strongly contributed to it being globally well-received. Sure, there are some details in English, such as in the lab, but many people in the world work with technology in another language when it is not their primary tongue. Aside from that (which wasn't even much of a demerit), this video is superb. Good work!

This is awesome! This is incredible! I'm out of words. Everything about this intro is done right. It's... just perfect. Another World was one of my first computer games. For some reason, I think the actor choosen to play Lester, is too young to be a scientific professor (and to own a Ferrari, for that matter). :-p Anyway, excelent... EXCELLENT job...

To be honest, I always pictured Lester as super young - kind of a prodigy, and paid insane amounts due to the high risk and classified nature of his work.
