I think we just don't have enough canon information on Plagueis yet to determine whether he was involved with the twins or not. People seem to keep trying to connect the dots with the Plagueis novel but we have to remember that takes place in a different continuity even if some events potentially remain the same or similar.

I would see a video of Mollie just listing what she loved about The Acolyte and maybe going deeper about it

It would be cool if plaugus is more like a mad scientist hiding away in his lab doing twisted experiments instead of being a public face like Palpatine it gives a nice contrast between the two.

I'm with Molly, I think Plagueis here is wanting to gain the knowledge that Palpatine talked about later. That conversation was what, 100 years later? So nothing says Plagueis was born with that knowledge, and I think this is part of how he learned that.

If Osha and Mae are 1 person split into 2, Plagueis could have Osha & Mae as his 2 for 1 apprentice.

Honestly I would love to get some sort of series, maybe even as a continuation of The Acolyte, where we follow Plagueis and see his plan going forward, and ultimately get to see him training Palpatine and then eventually how Palpatine kills him.

Q&A: What is your Potential The Acolyte Season 2 Prediction if The Acolyte Season 2 gets green lit? My prediction might show Yoda might talk about his thoughts on Mae, Osha, all the Jedi got killed in Season 1, and the 4 Witches (I'm guessing Yoda would not believe Mae nor Sol were responsible for killing all the Jedi that were helping Sol, he might believe it's got to do something with the Sith like he thought of in The Phantom Menace), that mysterious alien turns out to be Darth Plageius, Mae's prison where Mae spent her life there, Osha and Qimir be around covering Dark Side stuff, another flashback of Sol, maybe more mystery origins of the Witches, and Qimir turns out to be the former Padawan of Bassle.

Really don’t get why some can’t reconcile Acolyte Vern VS Book Vern. 100 years have passed. She went through a lot. It’s not too hard to figure out.

I am glad they didn’t change the appearance or the species of Plagueis. For me that was huge. Them changing his birthdate isn’t that big of a deal and they didn’t change it by much. Muuns live longer than humans so it’s definitely possible for him to have many apprentices.

I do believe Plagueis and Tenebrous were eager to break the rule of two. I think I remember that Plagueis knew that Palpatine was training Maul in the book and he was ok.

If this show does get continued, I could see it ending with the Jedi finding out the Sith are around and Plageus (again, IF it is him) sacrificing Qmir and Osha to make the Jedi believe they killed the Sith for good.

Considering how old plagueis looked in the show, maybe through studying the vergence he finds a way to revive his youth, and that will be the point where he starts his public persona and gaining connections in the Republic. I'm very interested to see where his story goes in canon

Darth Plagueis is by far my favourite Legends novel and I listen to it often (the narrator is perfect). If they change the story, I'll be fine with it, but I do hope they do incorporate some things from the book

What I loved about this series overall was how they presented the Jedi as not being perfect, and flawed; like all of us are.

It's funny, when I first saw Revenge of the Sith, I got the sense that Darth Plagueis was an ancient Sith legend, not someone that Palpatine knew personally. More of a parable to learn lessons of life and betrayal. Why would he say "it's not a story the jedi would tell you" if it was someone the jedi would've never even heard of? To me that implies that it's knowledge the jedi have, but is forbidden to share

In episode 3, during the accession ceremony, a hooded figure standing off to the side immediately left when the Jedi's arrival was announced. I believe that hooded figure was Darth Plagueis. Plagueis helped the witches create the twins.

Just started relistening to the Plagueis novel. As plagueis is taking care of his master he says something along the lines of the end of the rule of two. So I'm guessing Plagueis had no intention in following Banes rule.

It occurred to me that maybe when Mundi says "The Sith have been extinct for a millennia." He means the Sith Order as a large entity and not the literal extinction of all Sith Lords/followers.

Not sure why you’ve ruled out Plagueis being Demask. Palpatine was a public figure and also we saw him lurking in the shadows. Plagueis could absolutely still be a prominent baker by day and a skulking cave Sith on nights and weekends. And holidays. 😂

Okay, I just had a thought about the twins. What if the thing Koril talked to Aniseya about is actually about SPLITTING the consciousness rather than the CONCEPTION of the twins? There is no indication that the twins were of a "virgin" birth. For all we know, the conception might be normal, albeit with some "donations". The dialogue might have misled most of us. In the show, they always say "Your mother CREATED you", "you CREATED them", but created from what? The Force? I don't think so. The witch's chant starts with the power of one, and one line from the rhyme is "always one but born as two". So it is creating two from one. Splitting the light and the dark, the good and the bad. It was NEVER about the conception, it is ALWAYS about splitting the consciousness. This means Anakin's virgin birth is still the first and only one and doesn't break canon.

It would be cool to see Plageius be another apprentice and going after Qimir to become Tenebrous’s sole apprentice.

Regarding the rule of two, since the Sith have historically represented the dark side (evil) of the force who fight amongst themselves, the rule of one eventually is to be expected. Evil consumes itself over time during these wars amongst the different Siths but the force requires balance so there will always be some representative of the dark side around somewhere. As long as the light side is available, it too must participate in the balance requirement hence the inherent good versus evil is always present. Hope is there as it resides in the light overpowering the dark to maintain balance NOT to eliminate the dark side. The Acolyte was brave in depicting this mystery that showed the types of pressure and erosion that the dark side put upon the light side no matter how small the presence of evil may have seemed. The series took on the risk showing that the Jedi were people too who had to deal with emotions. I liked that Acolyte shows how the dark side eroded the Jedi’s lack of properly dealing with emotions over time. Since Osha is a combination of force powers Jedi, Sith and the Coven if I was Plagueis I’d surely choose her. The only thing I really missed is learning more about the Coven, how they used the force and exactly how they split the vergence to create the twins. The Coven never came off as this mighty evil in the same sense that the Sith do especially since they were trying to find somewhere that they could exist in peace. I will always keep in mind that the Coven existed outside of the Jedi jurisdiction and were therefore beyond the judgement (Point of View) of the Jedi/Republic.

I JUST finished the Plagueis Audible novel this morning and like others have stated, it's uncertain as to how much of it is actually cannon. (Though there are undeniably some references in the show) Also, Dink Ferric that was a good book!

If Plagueis did entertain the idea of Qimir training Mae is it possible that it could be because he was counting on her to cause chaos and make the Jedi look bad. The end goal likely being that the Senate tightens its influence over the Jedi order which is what happened.

Q&A: Why are we assuming that Qimir is a Sith? So far, they haven't broken anything related to the Plagueis novel. Plagueis can still be Tenebrous's apprentice at this point and Qimir isn't necessarily connected to the Sith at all. As gifted as Qimir was, he didn't use a lot of force attacks in episode 5. He did sort of cast "despair" against the Jedi, which was impressive. However, if it had been Palpatine, Plagueis or Bane, I think those Jedi would have been dead in less than a minute.

Many have said the voice of the person Master Vernestra spoke to on the comlink sounded like Palpatine (Ian McDermod's voice). I think it's a fun theory that she was in fact speaking to the 'civilian' persona of Darth Plagueis, who could in season 2 be voiced by Ian McDermod.

What happened to all the yellow lightsabers between The Acolyte and the prequels? In Acolyte, we see green, yellow, and blue all being common colors for Jedi. In AotC, we see a whole army of Jedi with just green and blue (and one purple). The only yellow sabers we see in that era are the ones used by temple guards. I do not think we will ever learn a clear answer as to how either Anakin or the twins were “created.”

I think Q'mir is going to break off from Plageuis after Osha is killed. I think Q'mir and Osha's connection makes him disillusioned as a Sith and starts the Knights of Ren

I don't think The Stranger is Plagueis's apprentice. I think that he has been watching The Stranger and Mae, now The Stranger and Osha, waiting to see if either of them is worthy to become his apprentice, or if he should merely kill them, to prevent them diluting the Dark Side.

I love Yoda as a character in part because he's infallible and eventually acknowledges and admits it. That arc in TCW is one of my absolute favourites for that reason but also Yoda hasn't been infallible since 1983 when he said Luke will have to face Vader again and thinks this time he must kill him in order to defeat the Sith. Both he and Obi-Wan are wrong when they think that is the only way but we also don't blame them for thinking Anakin can't be saved after everything that happened. So while they are incorrect, they're still empathetic and understandable. Same with the Nameless, it would have been dangerous for anyone to know about those creatures especially after learning they could be weaponised against the Jedi and Force users. People absolutely would have sought out the Nameless for their selfish ends so there was a good reason for keeping that information contained. Yoda hiding the survival of the Sith for 100 years until TPM would not be like either of those two. I do not want that scene with the Council in TPM to become a case of everyone else being shocked at Qui-Gon's claim and Yoda (or anyone else for that matter) is playing coy. His reply "Hard to see the dark side is" is more open minded than Ki-Adi Mundi's or Mace Windu's skepticism and denial. He admits that Qui-Gon could be right, he doesn't totally rebuff him but essentially says they need to look into it, which is a fair and understandable response. I don't want that to be twisted and changed. Personally I don't think when Yoda said "Always two, there are. No more, no less," he was referring to the Rule of Two as defined by Darth Bane. I think he was just using some common sense. If Maul was a Sith Lord, then someone trained him to be one so there is a master unaccounted for. Mace's next question ponders which role Maul held, if he was only the student or was in fact the master, in which case, he likely had a pupil. Obviously we know the truth and that Maul's master is literally in the same room as them but they don't. I think it's a better story if the Jedi have to figure all this out after Qui-Gon's death, rather than have it be something learned a long time ago and Yoda just kept quiet on that within the Order. I'm not a fan of that idea.

In the book Plagueis lets Palps take on Maul. Crucially tho he wasn't trained in the deeper techniques and philosophies of the Sith. He was to be an acolyte, not an apprentice ... Tenebrous took another apprentice only when he feared Plagueis was too weak to ever challenge him and thus threatened the grand plan Id argue it was only ever really Palpatine who broke the rule of two, and that was because he saw himself as the final step of the Grand Plan and thus the rule had served it's purpose but he was no longer bound by it

My belief is Plagueis was on brendock because of the vergence he felt, my belief is he found out about the witches, Plagueis was about 150 years old when he died as the Phantom menace started he was alive, and died after palpatine took power, I believe they could fit this perfectly, MY BELIEF IS DEMASSK CONTROLS RAVANCOURT, he knew the jedi had to be destroyed from within so his master started and continued it, please remember a sith has two faces the evil and a public persona. How do you both feel about the twins being one of the main plot point for the series? I was thinking that the story would have been better without the twin story and instead we see a series where osha falls out of the Jedi order, loses her job as a mechnic and ends up in a difficult life or death situation where she is saved by Qimir, becomes the acolyte and the series focus on two timelines the main story a kill bill meets the matrix and do a flashback for oshamae on her fall from the Jedi and rise in the dark side. Also the cameos were too short. It would have been great to see vinestra practice lightsaber dueling with yoda as their check in so we can get the tension of vinestra lying but told through an anakin/kenobi like fight. Plagues should have been in the political scene, seeing rancort get corrupted by plagues would have been way better of a cameo.

Have you considered a series on Media Literacy as told through Star Wars examples? Things like, "what is an unreliable narrator" or "the difference between foreshadowing and telegraphing the plot", etc.

I haven’t watched all the commentary you’ve made yet, but have you considered at all that Plagueis may not be the Stranger’s Master? The Stranger only says Sol might call him Sith, not that he is Sith. I think it’s possible, even likely, that actual Sith Lord Plagueis is plotting against this charlatan claiming to be Sith while the Stranger has no idea any actual Sith exist.
