Paul - "Hows your girl man?" Pena - " She left me." Paul - "Ohhhh" Pena - "Yeah, my mom died too and my dad got deported, but I got the van." I'm weak 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
In case someone missed it (which literally nobody did, Infinity war hit 2 billion worldwide recently) Luis should pull a deadpool and break the fourth wall telling us the recap in Avengers 4
Honestly, they're different brands of humor. Ant Man's humor is more situational and like a sit-com. Deadpool's humor is more of a meta-humor, one where it's self-aware to the point of ridiculousness.
Wanda Caser Deadpool isn't fucking funny at all. just a bunch of loyal geek fanboys of that comic that likes his humor. it's like forced vile humor; not natural at all.
It's such a brilliant line. I mean, how can you argue against it? It links the truth of the loudness to the truth of there being a tank. You can't untangle them easily or quickly. I probably thought about that way too much.
How this film didn't make a billion dollars is beyond me. In my view, it remains the most fresh, top-to-bottom excellent MCU film since 2012's Avengers.
Well, i would say because it was out after avengers age of ultron, which is the real hype of that year. Tbh, i went in on the premiere of Antman, expecting a half ass movie, "this movie can't beat age of ultron" and came out thinking i was very wrong. I like marvel movies, but a funny marvel movies? That's a cherry on top
How is this more fresh than GOTG 1??? That was the riskiest move by MCU since the Avengers. Mobir opened up in a heartbreaking scene before throwing you to a 80s space opera throwback. The retro rock music gimmick caught on as a trend. MCU leaned even more to comedy (which includes this movie) because GOTG is such a success. Antman? This movie was eager to tell you it's part of the MCU from the start. You'd be more right if Edgar Wright was still attached in directing this.
I love how Pym reacts to Luis getting all excited. -"I'm in the system?" -"Yeah we're doomed" And Luis getting turned on by Hope -"You are very beautiful ma'am" -"Oh my lord"
difference is Deadpool himself was funny as was a few characters but most of them played it serious whereas Antman it was both funny situations and funny lines from nearly everyone
[During Infinity War] Luis: Scott needs us, you know what I'm sayin'? Nothing's gonna stop us! *sees Thanos Luis: Back it up, back it up, back it up...
Paxton: ‘Wait a minute get out of the van!’ Luis: ‘What?’ Paxton: ‘Get out of the van!’ Luis: ‘It’s too loud. There’s a tank. I can’t hear you!’ Proceeds to drive off HAAHHAHAHHAHAHAH
"But I got the van." "Two smoothie machines." "The sizzem?!" "This is truth serum." "Oh. The woods." "WAZZAAHHH!!" Don't forget ALL his storytelling. Luis is by far the most funniest character in MCU and nobody can't convince me otherwise. Can't wait for Quantumania!!
Telling Bruce Banner "I'm just, like, super nervous, y'know. Cause you're The Hulk and everything. And also, your girlfriend's like super hot and she's Black Widow, so that's something too."
to those wondering why the writing is so good- the screenplay is written by edgar wright, joe cornish, adam mckay and paul ridd himself. “who are the first 3 guys?”, you might ask yourself. well, edgar wright and joe cornish are writing partners. edgar wright is known for directing the cornetto trilogy (shaun of the dead, hot fuzz, the world’s end), baby driver, and scott pilgrim vs the world. edgar wright was a really big part of my childhood i loved the cornetto trilogy adam mckay meanwhile directed comedies such as anchorman, talladega nights, step brothers and the other guys. his work would then slowly transition into more serious films such as the big short and vice. additionally the delivery of the jokes from paul rudd, michael pena, david dastmalchian and t.i. just tops it all off. iirc paul rudd has been cast in some adam mckay films such as anchorman, which is why he can deliver these jokes in such a way. edgar wright was originally supposed to direct this film, hence the reason why the script is greatly influenced by his humor. sadly marvel did not like or want his creative direction, making him leave the project altogether. to think that we couldve gotten the best if not one of the best superhero movies ever from these guys IF only marvel / disney werent pussies. now that marvel have learned their lesson, theyre letting their directors be more creative, as we can see through chloe zhao’s direction and creative style seen in the eternals. if you’ve watched nomadland then you can really see the similarities in the footage. why am i writing this? i dont know
"see thats what im talking about, thats what i call it an.. an unfortunate casualty, in a very serious operation" - man this scene couldnt have been better, love Penas delivery.
The guy during that scene was Falcon, and im pretty sure there was a Thor reference, if not then two Spiderman references. And I guy who jumps might be the hulk?
Jesus, I loved David Dastmalchian so much in this. He is so underrated. Too bad he is always stuff with the small slimy psychopath roles. (except for this movie)
This movie is my 3rd favourite marvel movie ( can't beat iron man 1 and spider man homecoming) this movie is still entertaining even after watching like 10 times like I have. And it's easily the funniest marvel movie.
anikait passi antman is my number one pick always. But Spider-Man homecoming was amazing. It's not even in the same lane as amazing spiderman 1 or 2. Did u watch the movie? Homecomings plot is so different.
Ant man is such underrated mcu movie. I think is one of the best, the jokes are even funnier than gotg and thor ragnarok combined. I dont really care about bad villain, the movie is not about killing the bad guy but how scott lang can get his daughter back. The theme is down to earth thats the one i really like
