Shinedown was my last concert before my stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis & covid then my 1st post covid concert and to say that it was the emotional moment ever is an understatement! Everyone was bawling!!
This song hits home for me personally. When this song came out last year i was having treatment for both anxiety and depression and the line that goes " It's Amazing what the hard times can reveal like who shows up,who walks away and who's for real" spoke to me and taught me who was with me during the tough times. Love this song do much❤
I'm so happy you're getting taken down the Shinedown rabbithole!! They are one of my top favorite bands of all time!! 🙏There's another version of this song without a video that I like better, but this one is good too! Much love Fil! 🫶
@@IamSammy1 it's tough, video vs the goosebumps from the choir. Their music isn't religious dude...it's about life...simple as that. Left up to interpretation
Fil, I was once the third last one. The scene, people were running away from a very loud bang (turned out it was an IRA bomb exploding back in the 1970's). Most were running in every direction, their panic stricken faces said so much yet gave them no answers. I pondered what to do. Seeing a couple gripping each other yet frozen to the spot, I approached them and put my arms around them, one after each other they started to laugh, I joined in. The daylight shone brighter as the woman kissed me full on the lips and the man just smiled. #QcumberSquad #Shinedown - Fil, I'm off back to the study.
Brent said before playing this song live that it is for whatever in one's life gives them comfort, whatever keeps them moving, as he said "for you dog, cat, goldfish, that coffee shop on the corner that you go to before school." Whatever takes to your daylight.
Shinedown and Delta Rae are my favorite comfort bands. Shinedown has been leading the conversation for mental heath in rock before it was "cool" or "mainstream." their entire Attention Attention album is Brent and Zack's diary almost of how they deal with depression.
When he talks about what the hard times can reveal I think he’s more talking about how others treat you during your hard times. Do they stay by your side and help or do they walk away? Some people walk away when you’re in a bad place mentally, while others are the ones that stay and help you see the daylight.
