I just picked it up on ps4 and I’m getting a ps5 soon. If EA would just pull their heads out of their behinds, they could open cross platform play options and have a healthy community up and running in no time with a few solid updates and ideas. It’s a brilliant idea for a game and they need to revisit it. BioWare deserves the chance to make right on their own
This is the game I keep coming back to, there's no game that can scratch the itch of the free flying & combat - priming and detonating. I've maxed my 4 Javelins and play solo GM 3 runs every once in awhile. Screw EA for making Bioware abandon this game :(
@@Leminies took me quite sometime esp since only after cataclysm released you can get 80 power items. The catac runs helped tho cause you gain shards there, so prolly weeks or a month for my colossus. Then for the rest over the many months after I've been on and off.
the EA Exec. goal was to sell the trailer and give the people trash all along...it was one of the FEW times the gaming community sniffed it out and won thanks to No Man's Sky giving away the scam first.

Man. The combat and moment-to-moment gameplay in this game was legit top class. The story wasn't actually bad either. Hell, even the missions weren't bad. The issue was just how flat the end-game landed. But my God I STILL get misty eyed when I play any third person combat game and wish I could fly around with the freedom Anthem offered.
@@BrokenMessiah1 And, so were the missions. Really, it literally was "go stand in this circle, retrieve the glowing balls, or go grab the canister looking things" for every mission. AND, they were so short and simple, the damn loading times to get into the mission were longer than the mission. The issue was definitely NOT "just the endgame". There were so many more issues than that. It's a looter shooter with boring, bland loot. The legendries looked like the level 1 weapons, and even the L1 weapons were stronger (cause shitty game design). Also, forcing you into a playstyle (abilities) based on RNG loot drops was dumb AF; Ive never seen anything like it.
152 hours I played this. The whole time I.. just kept feeling like "There has to be more". And.. there never was and it never will. Even to this day, I think about all the cool mechanics and missions that could have been added.

I need to revisit this game myself. I 'm a mouse and keyboard player but have tried to use the gamepad which was a bit different for me so i went back to the keyboard and mouse... No lie this was an amazing Game. EA killed this because it didnt do Fortnite numbers. I had more fun in the 40-60 hours of gameplay than I did in 8 years of destiny. The customization was so good, how you earned cosmetics. Game fell flat when the devs tried to do the time crunch bullshit on the endgame zone, instead of something like rotating modifiers across a weekly different endgame zone etc. Blame ea for this, the game had a great skeleton
Nop, the game was dead cause devs killed it. All stats about weapons are fake. The starting weapon does same damage than the final Legendary one per exemple. All stats were fake.
@@_Sylens that game wasn't about the gun archetypes. There were elemental variants, variants that boosted loot, crit variants, flight variants, synergy variants. There were hundreds of good combos if you can read
In 2021 I put like 200 hours into this game and leveled up all of the javelins, then in 2022 I started over on my new account and nearly did it again. I have a soft spot for this game and still enjoy it time to time
Visuals, combat, flight and power fantasy 10/10. Too bad there was barely any end game content, with a little bit of effort this could have been my favorite game of all time. If they announced an Anthem Rebirth it would be an instant buy for me.
I started It like a week ago and actually i always find people on the hub room. Maybe It's not the most populated game out there, but some people still love It and play it. I think i saw someone on the leaderboard with something like 12000 hours of playtime

Storm and the Colossus are my fav. One can only hope they would reconsider developing more content. All the tools are there. Just not the income because it's reputation is ruined 😕
btw all the people playing in this video were just randoms, i dont have any people on EA play to invite directly to play with, so this video shows how easy it is to find people to play with online
i can find so mutch peopel when you play on easy normal hard but try to play gm1 or gm2 or even gm3 if you lucky you can finde the same 3 guys for all your contet but i had days where the game just say pls look on other dificultys becouse they cant find players and this is for all contet try do season all alone XD
alot of people are misinformed, the reasonm this game was abandoned was 1. false advertising. 2. game was released near the start of ps4, i dont think it was anticipated for ps5 but it was so bugged it could, and did, brick millions of ps4's (meaning the ps4 gets so many errors it freezes and restarting the ps4 would cause it to never turn on or have errors for ANY game you tried playing. this was also unresolvable. 3. lack of content that was promised and never announced cancelled but instead ignored when asked about. this also ties into #1 4. it was extremely money hungry.
I love playing this game and my friends say I'm crazy. It could have been so much more. RIP what Anthem could have been. It's still a blast to play early to mid game.
Me and about 40 other dudes have made a PSN group that play daily, majority of the players are new players who love to play so we offer carries for such. its quite amazing to see how many people still play and we hope to continue to add more. We hope bioware does decided to add more content or at least sell it to another to let it grow into what we expected it to be.
Recently I replay this game for a while. I think it's still a great game that captivating your imagination about battle suit & exploring the world. I just have another addicting activity which is cycling.
If only EA decided they should try fixing the game thats already been made, honestly this game still has potential just you know actually have someone in charge with a clear idea for how the game is gonna be developed further. This game so far has been the only one able to make me feel like Iron Man and make it fun, i really do hope EA revisits this game
I have this feeling that people in charge of Anthem just gave up not because it is hopeless.... it is just there is sooo much hate that they don't have the moral left to keep it up.
I really want ea to come through on this one, this is what keeps me from buying new titles on release day. I'd love to see them revisit this game someday, it had so much potential.
Launch bay on Xbox has been busy last couple I've jumped on and honestly the rework was the right call for eaci have been enjoy anthem when my wifi let's actually connect
thats cool, i gotta jump back in there. Back in the day it was much easier to grind for the ultimate gear in this game, it still took a couple of days but i got collosus shit in god tier maxed out mode, right after that those bitches nerfed the drop rate by insane amount so it was impossible to max out builds. I dont know if it changed since then
This was such a great game, and had so much potential, it hurts to know that AAA companies have no passion in what they create anymore, they never pull through and have the integrity to complete what they started, nor do they appreciate views from their consumers. Make Games Great Again!!!
i swear all they needed to do was make a multiplayer mode. or like pvp areas in the maps where you can attack other groups and skirmish each other. better customization with your javelins this game wouldve been gold. to me this will always be the game that never was. and it breaks my heart to this day.
Did they ever fix the loot system? I seem to remember it had some issue where it would do a weird thing to average your loot stats or something, and it ended up making most sense to go with like only a single gun equipped, or the lowest level gun - something like that. The effect was that all the loot was just pointless when it first came out. Or did they fix the issues with the multiplayer missions just teleporting you to the next location if you got too far behind the person in the lead? That was always jarring and a bad idea. Did they fix the mainstory mission? A lot of people hit that wall where to progress you had to do some grindy crap to meet the objectives - like it was not even a story for that part, it was just "finish x number of these random objectives to progress". And there was also so many of the "go here, kill wave 1", "go here kill wave 2", etc missions - it got really repetitive. Did they ever change it so you would not have to return all the way to base to look at and equip your new gear? It looks like you still just get it at the very end of the missions rather than during the mission still, lot of people were not a fan of that. I played it on day one and quit about a month later thanks to all that myself. If at least the loot issue got fixed, I would consider playing again, because flying around and shooting was still really great. I still see the loot hardly affects the way you look unfortunately (from what I could tell) - I mean that is a pretty big part of the type of game they wanted to try and make here - was really crappy how little you could change the way you looked, and what you could do was all based on changing your mech color and pattern rather than the equipment changing it - everyone just looked like each other, except with different paint jobs
Even though there are a large amount of ‘looter shooters’ type of games out there, none of them feel as good or as fun as this does. Anthem just had that real good feeling about it. I really do hope a company buys this game and gives it medicine or a new game that’s similar.
All they need is content. Destiny started out slow, but they kept at it and made it good. EA just needs to take the time to add some content and plenty of us will start playing again. It was a great game, but sheesh they should have given it a chance.
the firearms alone for colossus javelin at least has; grenade launcher, autocannon (probably what you looking for), heavy pistol, machine gun, assault riflt, snipers, etc etc, actually a lot. and next to that the armor itself has its left shoulder launcher that has different types, then you have a left and right arm weapons also and a support gear. lots of things man :) theres probably some videos also about all the weapons
