When Rizzo followed the ball all of the way to the catcher's mitt on the first pitch, he let us know that he was in the zone. That 0-1 blast was hit so hard that it's difficult to even see the ball leave the bat from the main angle. He got all of it, just incredible.

I (an Imam) went to this game with my friend who happens to be a Rabbi. When Anthony Rizzo belted a walk-off game winning home run, we were screaming and hugging like long-lost brothers. What made the moment sweeter was about an hour earlier I wanted to go home after the fifth inning and beat the traffic since the Cubbies were down big. Rabbi Ari said, "Imam, have faith! The Cubbies are going to win this game!" Sports bring Muslims and Jews and Christians together!

Best part is Eddie Butler, the winning pitcher, who you can briefly see in the celebration pileup, was traded away within about an hour of this game ending. Great way for him to remember his time in the Cubs' organization

Cubs developed the championship heart in that 2016 run to the title and they still have it. It is something that can't be taught and once you have it you never lose it. Some teams never develop it (like the Nationals).

The Nationals figured it out in the 8th inning of that Wildcard game against the Brewers and the rest is history. All of a sudden the least-clutch postseason team of this era became the most clutch. Crazy how it works once a team figures it out.

Me too! And the way this 2018 season ended was so disappointing. Too bad Darvish & Morrow got hurt. The Cubs would have won 100+ games and the division title... and then maybe the postseason would have been different. Oh well... Cubs fans will always have 2016.

#33 Butler who you can see in the foreground of the huddle around home plate was the winning pitcher for this game... and he was traded like an hour later. I was at this game and I remember seeing the notification about the trade on the ride home. I'll bet that's a great final memory to have with the team.

Jhonathan Cosme I think both of them are pretty bad. I was hoping the Cubs would buy a great pitcher, (relief or starting) and just pay the fine for going over the salary cap. I also think Yu Darvish needs to get his head on straight and pitch some great games or the Cubs management needs to find away to get rid of him. What a waste of money he is so far. 👎
