I hope this guy is what he's been hyped up to be. Watching highlights can make anyone look like a superstar. I need to see him in real games taking on top major league pitchers. I want him to be awesome. I just need to see it.
Agree spring training u face a lot of guys who won’t make their teams even if he struggles is sent down for more experience. Will remind all of this guy came up couldn’t do anything right was sent down wanted to quit BB. Daddy had a talk with him he worked hard came back up to a HOF career
Couldn’t agree more. He needs to show he can hit with the big boys-judge, stanton, rizzo, Lemahieu, Donaldson, torres, bader, etc. I mean we need a void that Jeter left and that is hitting and winning championships. Not putting his hand on head just made it to big leagues. Let’s see if he is the real deal when he faces 100 mph pitches. Real testament about to come these next few years and let’s see if he can hit 20+ homers like #2 yearly till he retires.
Hopefully, this is a repeat of 1996 when Jeter got the nod to be the SS. We all know what happened that year !Both these guys are original local kids with the same dream to play for the yanks. Very similar mentality & let’s all hope this season ends well like back in the day !!!🙏🙏🙏

Let’s not forget Bucky Fuckin Dent, although he wasn’t a new blood, but was our SS. Let’s just hope, it’s been too damn long of a wait to the promise land !!

Who's here after Volpe joined a select few rookies who had 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases. The season may have been an umitagated disaster . The front office especially Cashman and Hal are complete clowns. However, Volpe gives the Yanks hope for the future. All I have to say is patient for rebuilding and our young core's development. Volpe, Dominguez, Wells, Perira, Pereza among others can lead the next generation of Yankee baseball and don't panic if results don't come immediately. Patience is key in rebuilds.
Where is this “weak arm” I keep hearing about ? Hits 1st base on a line every time and had excellent range. If anything watching Peraza I’ve seen him come up short at first several times, this year and last year 🤷♂️
I tend to trust the scouts when they’re unanimous on a thing like this. Obviously a pro shortstop isn’t gonna look bad in his highlights. They were right about Gleyber when it came to this.
