I've been saying this for a long ass time. At first Sound of White Noise was weird, since I got into them with Madhouse: The Very Best of Anthrax and all of the songs on the album were from the Island Records years with Belladonna, but the more I listen to Bush, while Joey is who I think of when I think of Anthrax, those Bush albums with Anthrax are severely underrated and nobody gives Anthrax their proper dues with The Big 4. Everyone shits on em. For what reason, I'll never know.
I love this album. Sucks that it got beat out by such timeless bands as Smashing Pumpkins, 422, Everclear, Sublime, and Spacehog. They sure went places!
This is not Thrash, that is not Belladona.. once said that, this album is still criminally underrated imo. However, my favorite from that album is King Size, yet this track is also great
Yeah I'm really obsessed with Anthrax... but I don't worship/adore these guys. It is that I have so much appreciation and love to share.... I want to see these guys live, touch on them, speak with them, having photographs, autographs etc... Charlie is the man... but Joey is aswell. Frankie too, Bush too, Lilker, Spitz, Nelson (?), Turbin, both Gregs, Jon Donais. Also that guitarist from the volume (eight) 8 era for example. I forgot his name.
If I ever fought in the UFC this would be my intro song. "What's important is a mind that's sicker. Turning Jeckyl into Hyde much quicker".."Punch drunk but I'm still sober.14 years a whole lot bolder. And I don't flinch. Hungry and I'll take the best cause I never wanted anything less. What doesn't kill me makes me stronger".."It's like a war inside me. I'm good, I'm evil".."It's like a war inside me, action is all I know. Tell me it's suicide, tell me something I don't know"... Long live rock!
i like the songs they did with this singer better than the ones from before and i saw m with ozzy crazy babies tour i think in hampton,va in like 88,89
Great album by the NY thrashers . Interesting seeing this video clip I wonder if it was based on the actual curse of the golden eagle .the actual car for Jon Carpenters platform for Christine the movie was in fact a 64 dodge 330 ,as shown here !
Thoughts on the parallel between Fueled and Fuel? Load released in 97, Stomp 442 in 95. Both have the same comic-action style video. Fuel was obviously a much bigger commercial success, and a better song in my opinion. But Stomp is great no doubt.
smotpoker81 Wow! Anthrax was first but 100k records sold versus 4 million. The ideas in the songs and videos are not original though. I mean cars and old movies with words on screen. Metallica did do Unforgiven 2 on the same cd, so maybe they where low on ideas
Fueled > Fuel Stomp 442 < Reload Fueled is my favorite song of Stomp 442 and Fuel is my favorite off of Reload. I'm not a big fan of each record, but they have a few good moments here and there.
When I found out in 1992 that Joey had left the band, I was really disappointed. The first time I heard Only on the radio, I was as excited as I'd ever been. When the band announced in 2004 that John was leaving the band, I was pissed. When I heard Joey was back, I was even more pissed... Because of John's voice, his stage presence and the humble person he is, I became a big fan. I really don't care that Joey made albums with the band that made the band famous. To me Joey was, is and will be a puppet that others manipulate. He really isn't the right frontman for Anthrax for me.
metalfan thats awsome I've only gotten pulled over listenin to thrax. cant help but drivin fast. my mustangs wheels wont slow down with this line up or any thrax. the kngs of thrash. bushthrax is rad miss you john.
I've listen to nearly ever Anthrax album. As good as the 80s albums are. By far Stomp 442 is a proper thrash album. John Bush is what the lads we're missing. Joey is great but John is a thrash singer he's got the delivery.
@MegaMetallicafan21 Yes they did cause Dan Spitz their former lead guitarist quit leaving only Scott Ian. Paul Crook was hired as a studio only member (they didn't tour with him) and on two songs they got Dimebag Darrell.
Just thinking the same when I saw the cars and the fonts, and the similarities in those 0-3- riffs. Only then I realized the names of the songs and the case was closed. :)
Man i swear ive been rockin to this shit for 15 years plus.... played the shit out of the cassette. Still pure GOLD! ,curse this song for making me drink all my beer.
kick ass clip remind me christine movie. hope to drive charger 1970 whit this hot antrax trax on radio at 100mph on I-10 and i dont care if i die lol lol rock on TRAIN ON !!!!!
first I wanna say that Anthrax is my favorite band, and that I love EVERYTHING they've done, and second that I think they turned into a Helmet ripoff on this album, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but its just not classic Anthrax, but its still kickass
Fantastic album - in 1989 they played to 5,000 people in Dublin on the State Of Euphoria tour .. they walked off because some punks were spitting at Scott. Next time they came back to Dublin in 1995 they played to about 400 people in a 1200 venue - that was the Stomp tour. The band played as if it was their last show. Bush was amazing. But they were one of the uncooolest bands in 1995.
I'm out to mix it up and change my complexion To coat the feelings and cure my depression A shot of petrol is my bonafide method To lose control and get thoroughly distracted I'm on the money, here I come Fuel for my engine, and I'm gone I like to forget why I feel this compulsive As I toss tomorrow's dreams in the garbage What's important is a mind that's sicker Turning Jekyll into Hide much quicker I'm on the money, here I come Fuel for my engine, and I'm gone One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four Kick start and turn me over Punch drunk, but I'm still sober Fourteen years and a whole lot bolder And I don't flinch Hungry and I'll take the best 'Cause I never wanted anything less What doesn't kill me makes me stronger It's like a war inside me, I'm good, I'm evil Two sides of the coin and I've been blessed with both On one hand I am you, but I don't like you I guess that's the nature of the way things work I'm on the money, here I come Fuel for my engine, and I'm gone One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four Kickstart and turn me over Punchdrunk, but I'm still sober Bukowski's on my shoulder With much to think Hungry and I'll take the best 'Cause I never wanted anything less What doesn't kill makes me stronger It's like a war inside me, action is all I know Tell me it's suicide, tell me something I don't know I don't know why I've been made some kind of hero When I've done all I can do to prove I'm not It's amazing to think someone could trust me Tell me what do you know about me really ? And I you make the mistake of getting close to, Me, you'll just give me all that you've got So I don't know why I've been made some kind of hero When I've done all I can do to prove I'm not One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four Kickstart and turn me over Punchdrunk, but I'm still sober Fourteen years and a whole lot bolder And I don't flinch Hungry and I'll take the best 'Cause I never wanted anything less What doesn't kill me makes me stronger One, two, three, four, one, I can't close this broken door It's just the nature of the way things work You want to be me, I don't give a damn Anyone can do it but it takes a man not to Try so hard to give me a real life Anyone can do it but it takes a man not to ¡!
metalfan thats awsome I've only gotten pulled over listenin to thrax. cant help but drivin fast. my mustangs wheels wont slow down with this line up or any thrax. the kngs of thrash.
One of the best Bush-era songs!! I love both Bush and Belladona though! Great to know that Anthrax didnt bow down to the almighty dollar like Metallica.
