The John Bush era to me was so much better. Joey had a lot of great hits with the band but there’s more power and more feeling in the John Bush era. Joey just doesn’t get it done
Oh by far ! It’s there best record. I mean it’s cool there still doing it . Much love ! But the band I loved was with the bushman ! Funny thing is I don’t care for armored saint at all . It’s that line up sown !
I didn't appreciate the album when it came out in 93 and got rid of it. In 2008 I was in a Dollar Tree and I found a "cut-out" copy of it again and it blew me away. Fantastic album.
@@leonardofloresbasile9106 Without Joey, Anthrax would be just another generic metal band IMO. Joey's voice is what made them stood out, especially in the 80's.
If you are talking about John Bush, he is back to his former band Armored Saint. Apparently, he is starting another band with ex-members from Exodus and Machine Head@@dannyvela4521
He was singing it great even back in 2009, but I think he’s feeling more comfortable in the band now, and getting to do his own thing with the Journey gig. Whatever these guys are so lucky to be able to do this
Big respect to Joey and Anthrax that respects their discography unlike other bands known to shift singers back and forth that basically only play their vocalist's songs.
Completely agree. Some other big bands do the same like Iron Maiden... it's great to listen to Bruce sing mainly X Factor songs. But some doesn't because of vocal limitations.. everytime with my friends that we end up talking about that we evoke Black Sabbath, and why Ozzy doesnt sing Dio songs....
I'm the biggest John Bush nutswinger there is and I thought Joey did that really well. I didn't like it when he did it in 2011, but he really rocked it on here. Of course he doesn't have the grittiness to his voice that John has that works so well, but he made it enough of his own without straying from the song. Kudos to Joey!
Been an Anthrax fan since the beginning! Love Scott Ian IMHO the greatest rhythm guitar player ever! And love that he still plays Jackson guitars! Awesome!
Fucking sick!!! Never thought Joey would sing Bush songs but there are fucking GEMS there. Only, Lodge, Random Acts, etc!!! I will see Anthrax in Sweden if this is on the menu!🤘🤘🍺🔥
@Dirk Digler sound of white noise and We come for you all are perfectly cromulent metal albums. Bush was a great singer for Anthrax, but I do prefer Joey
Joey did a pretty good job here. When he attempted it a decade ago, it was an unmitigated disaster. No feel for the song at all. Glad to see put in the work, as this tune is an absolute classic.
@@13christbane Well, Sammy struggled with Dave's songs too, but he HAD to perform them. Refusing to perform them was not an option; just as John could not refuse to perform Joey's songs. Of course Joey doesn't sound as good as good John when he performs his songs, but at least he performs them. The point I'm trying to make is that he could've refused to perform John's songs. He had that option, but he didn't take it.
This is strange, Joey said he doesn't like the Bush songs. Anyway, Only is a hell of a song for the band, there is no way to be forgotten, so it must be played.
This right here, is the proof that Joey can sing the Bush-era songs in his own style, and do them total justice. Joey and John are two of my favourite singers, and I'd so love to see Joey take on some more of the John Bush classics. Hy Pro Glo, Packaged Rebellion, What Doesn't Die, Safe Home, Catharsis... come on Joey, you can do it!
I think Joey certainly has the ability to sing this gem. He should sing it the same way he sang Parasite. And he should sing it with the same phrasing that Bush sang. He'd nail it.
Bush > Belladonna Whenever I hear The Devil You Know, Breathing Lightning, Soror Irrumator (GOT Soundtrack), or any of the other new stuff I love it but I can also tell that it would be so much better with Bush's vocals.
