One of my dearest friends passed away this week, and although she had been very ill and was ready to leave this world I, like so many of those that loved her, am having a hard time dealing with the loss. I know how important it is to enjoy the gift of each new day and to live life to the fullest, and I try to move forward with gratitude, but sometimes we all need a reminder to fully enjoy our remaining years….even if it’s just sitting outside in the sunshine listening to the birds…..thanks for reminding me. Hi Nanny, I am so happy that you love the nail Tek, it sure has made a difference in my nails as well. Thank you so very much for mentioning me and my channel, that was so very kind of you and I want you to know how very much I appreciate it. I have a grabber also and use it pretty much on a daily basis. It works great to get things that are high up on the shelf that I can’t reach. I also have those exact face halos and love them. I also come outside first thing in the morning when I get up, however, it is still dark out because it’s usually around 1 AM but I just turn the patio light on and sit outside and think and count my blessings and tell God how very grateful I am. That quiet time from myself is worth all the money in the world. I would not know how to start my day any other way. Dave also makes a cold pasta salad but I don’t think it’s near as good as what yours looks like. I will share this video with him and have him try it your way. Nanny, I completely identify with my early morning outside time. Coffee on the patio, birds at my feeders, beautiful plantings in my yard….has become my morning ritual. I often recite my gratitude journal entry out loud, and enjoy the opportunity to begin another day. Then off to walk, or Pilates , etc. All of this has replaced watching the news with the first cup of coffee, and I find it is much healthier mentally and adds to my life’s positivity. At 71 I treasure those moments of peace! Be well and have a great week ahead. ❤🌻💄

Nanny, I love your hairdos! I cut my waist long hair so I could do your hairdos. I just noticed you had a comment from South Africa. Wow how does it feel to be worldwide? I’m happy you were on this morning. I’m feeling a little sorry for myself. Jerry came down with Covid Sunday. I fallowed Monday. The strange thing is my brother in-law in Fresno, my son in-law and daughter in Roseville and my daughter’s mother in-law in Sacramento all have Covid. I thought that was so last year. Each evening I go out on the front porch and look for my wolf pack. No hide nor hair of them. But I did hear on local news there was a pack sighted in the hills above Turlock. Hello Nanny ... even just watching this video of yours was relaxing, so thank you for that. I have never thought in practical terms, about unforeseen medical issues. I never thought of even a possibility of breaking any bones at this stage of my life. None the less at 4 AM, bolting out of bed from a nightmare and crashing into my nightstand. Even now I still can't believe this happened to me. But one of the most wonderful things coming out of it has been my husband's help and support and my son's concern. I cherish that so much. The most negative event ? besides the pain and stiffness ? .. is not being able to do my yoga .. that is my "me time" hour a few times a week and I am really missing it .. I know I will be able to get back to it, I think it is just the worry of losing my flexibility and having to work so hard to get it back again .. even thinking of it makes me tired but I am grateful things weren't worse in the accident. I never thought about raising the bed to put the sheet on .. I have had an adjustable for a few years and why didn't I think of that ? LOL Thank you for that tip !! The pasta salad looks delicious !

I have used Mavala nail products since l trained for Revlon as aside to hairstylist at 16 years old , My hair is so fine l use Loreal to shade my grey as my grey is grubby , it's so safe and easy above all it makes me happy ,today l bought some bright pink nail varnish not gel it ruins the nails ,takes a little longer to harden but lasts three weeks , you dear lady just a ,little older than me help me know that age is in the mind so thank you for all the things you share to us all .happy days its my 76th birthday September 1st ,nothing planned no immediate family not many worthwhile friends but have my loveing husband who suffers I'll health l care for him and he makes me know how beautiful he thinks l am 57 years married ,,he's my life .take care of yourself and your hubby . I love the grabber bar. In my laundry, I have some emergency preps that I keep in bins on a shelf. I use the grabber to get them down. These Dollar Store baskets have an opening as a handle that the bar works perfectly. Now I don't have to get my step ladder out.

I'll be 70 this yr & I have started doing just that and the serenity it brings is priceless. So, its nice to have someone reaffirm that so I don't think I'm just lazy. lol. My mother was an outdoor lady coming from a farm, I would remember her sitting on the picnic table with her coffee and i now realize why she was there as i do the same. I too watch my birds and the sun come up very soothing to the soul :)

Nanny ... my grandma used to get up at 5am every morning to have some time to herself with a cup of coffee... If i woke up early and very quietly walked out to the kitchen i might 'catch' her talking to herself... It was just one of her quirks... she would workout the Worlds problems and her own at 5am. She always told me that talking to your self was alright as long as you don't answer your self...lol Great post Nanny... I am diabetic too- right now have a serious breathing issue getting looked at. Oh also the olive oil for your hair- I use Castor Oil, which has been proven to regrow and strengthen your hair. 🌸💞🌸

I actually had a 'me day' last week as I wasn't feeling well.....spent quite a bit of couch time.....resting and rejuvenating. I believe that such a day is so important....previously I would feel guilty not getting things done on my to-do list then I came to the conclusion that in fact we are NEVER doing 'nothing'....for we are ALWAYS doing something....for when we are resting we are being kind to our body, we are renewing our strength and our spirit. Love your videos! Problem with your car door not opening, the key fob may need a new battery. It can be replaced and may do the trick. As I've aged, if thinks no longer work or can't be repaired, they are thrown out. Life is too short to deal with those small frustrations.

Thanks for another thought-provoking video Nanny. Its 530 am & I've been up 3 hours already. I use this early morning time for lots of prayer, thinking, appreciating life. I'm terrible about taking "me" time; somehow I always end up feeling guilty that I didn't get something done. But as my mom used to say, that stuff will still be there tomorrow and if I'm not, it won't matter anyway. I sure miss my mom; she's been gone now 3 months & I'm having a hard time with this loss. Nanny, yes indeed we need to self care. Not only for our physical wellbeing but for our mental wellbeing. I love early mornings on my patio. To see my flowers and birds and watch my Molly explore. Seeing things through a child’s or animal’s eyes is an entirely different experience. I have been under stress recently due to something that is going on. So every night I try to put things out of my mind and just know that tomorrow is another day. My old teachings were not to stop until things were finished. But that makes the stress even worse. Besides, when I am worn out I don’t think clearly. Our pets and hobbies are a wonderful distraction. I have not taken time for my hobbies during this time but I do have my fur baby next to me and snuggle down to watch something on television to break the cycle of the days stress. All of your hints are always welcome. Your pasta salad is delicious, I have made it repeatedly. I always share some with my son. Take care Nanny. Blessings to you both, love, Sharon

Im planning on investing in a bed like yours, right now we have the one that both of us have to go up & down together ( what were we thinking?) , so now the bed never gets used that way. Yes, the grabber (or a back scratcher) does make my life easier and safer. When our car is in the garage, the passenger side is close to the wall and can't be accessed. So I sometimes need to use the grabber that is hanging on a nail in the garage. Also, I use the back scratcher in the console to retrieve items from the passenger side as well. My phone has fallen on the floor while I'm driving. When I stop at a light, I will grab the back scratcher from the console to retrieve my phone. It has come in very handy as well!
