I think your movement to be cruelty free is a beautiful thing. You are setting a phenomenal example by being a stunning makeup guru that is showing people that it is possible to still wear a full face of makeup and be glamorous all without the harm of animals to make your beauty products. You are so genuine and your passion for the wellbeing of animals and wildlife is so heartwarming. More people need to be like you and be open on this topic. Many people feel silly or "lame" stating their opinion to be cruelty free and to change their actions in support of animals but it is a great thing and everyone needs to talk more about it and how important it is. I commend you on this - And you look gorgeous as always. Stay true and always be you. Thank you!
appreciate this a lot! more than you know! thank you! for a long time I kept quiet about being CF because I thought it was annoying people but the animals deserve better so I am moving towards being more outspoken xx
Kiki Chanel I started listening to a podcast called Natch Beaut and she inspired me and others to go cruelty free. It was never something I even thought of when buying products (I am a total animal lover and trying to go vegetarian even but never realised how much make up and skin care products were not CF!!). Now when I watch beau-tubers I wish they would promote cruelty free like you!! I'll be letting the Natch Beaut Facebook page know you are "CF"
Han E i think the only time it's annoying is when people shame me for using L'Oréal but they sit there eating chicken and don't care that the animals people eat are also extremely abused.
Adrianne Stachura you can use the same argument still with makeup. There are plenty vegetarian alternatives to meat that give you all the nutrients you need. It's rare someone can't be a vegetarian (not all, but most). Also, most big name toilet paper brands aren't cruelty free, or shampoo, or even dog food. I haven't found a cruelty free foundation that doesn't break my skin out and I'm not going to shell out $50 I don't have on high end. Everyone has their causes, mine is helping rape victims get access to fresh clothes after rape kits, help them find affordable or free therapy, and help be their advocate so they don't lose their job, college spot, or family due to the trauma. If anyone thinks about every single thing wrong in this world that's horrible or disgusting, people would actually go insane, because there is too many.
I really love the anti consumerist message in this video, especially in regards to cruelty free beauty and marketing tactics of teaming up with charities. You're so right, if you feel strongly about something just donate, you don't need more product in your life!
once again you are spot on with your opinions and moral standards on non ethical practices by cosmetic companies using animal testing and by products. Hooray for you Kiki!! I love your reviews and your intelligent comments. Thank you and I love your channel. you are so charming and lovely.
I don't get mink lashes at all. And this is just my opinion. I don't get wanting to wear animal fur on your eyes. No matter how you get it. Just strange. Like I said though that's just me.
Right?? It reminds me of Louis XIV-y gaudy makeup trends, like where women would stick strips of mouse fur attached to mouse skin on their faces as the lead makeup caused their own eyebrows to fall out. People in ~300 years are going to look back on us like "they put /what/ on their eyes??"
I think you are such an amazing example to all young men and women in the beauty community! You're so well educated and you express yourself in such a respectable way. I love your videos and I hope you stay true to yourself as you continue to grow in your RU-vid journey!
Thank you for posting these barbaric pictures. While they make me sick as hell, I think some people can benefit from this educational material. I read a comment the other day on another channel where the person said she would continue to purchase from cruel companies because all they do is rub products on animals. OK. Some people actually believe that is what animal cruelty means when it comes to cosmetics...hence the dire need for education. Obviously everyone is free to choose what to buy from whom, but at least education leads to more conscious choices. You **know** what you are choosing.
Its in her video on the huda desert dusk palette video. She talks about how the brand is cruelty free about a minute in. Then everyone was calling her out in the comments saying they have mink lashes and she was commenting back that cruelty free only means the brand itself didn't do any testing on animals, they just get the mink from a supplier. Looks like her comments have since been deleted lol.
I am just sick about how they treat those poor animals. I think we should lock all them up in cages in their own filth and with no drinking water and see how they like it. thank you for bringing some awareness! By the way what are you wearing on your eyes? That color is gorgeous!
People really need to rethink buying non cruelty free makeup. There is no point to promote brands like Maybelline and L'Oreal when there are affordable, cruelty free brands with the same products, if not better products.
I absolutely can't get enough of your anti-haul videos! Please please please keep posting these, I love watching them! Also your makeup and outfit are amazing! Can you please make a video about your favorite cruelty free brands?
You are the only RU-vidr I don't get bored with halfway through the video....just sayin. You are awesome girl and I love the videos!!! Seriously though, you deserve more subscribers!!
Unfortunately cruelty free and not using animals/animal products in makeup (aka vegan) is not the same thing. If false lashes are not tested on animals they qualify as being cruelty free. Lashes might not be a great example but any other product that has an animal as an ingredient but is not tested on animals is still cruelty free. A good example is carmine that's heavily used in makeup, so bugs/insects are being killed and end up as an ingredient in a product. If that product is then not being tested on animals it is still considered cruelty free which is silly if you ask me). So for me personally, I use only vegan products and from 100% cf brands of course (logicalharmony.net approved) Nothing against your stance though, I love that you are spreading the cruelty free message, the more of us do it the better. ;)
I love this video it gives me an idea about not to buy some makeup that is not good. and your outfit hair, makeup jewelry totally fabulous I love it.👍☺😊
You brought tears to my eyes about animal cruelty. Thanks for spreading the word & opening my eyes to things I had no idea about. You're amazing TY! ♥️
I think that legally cruelty-free just means that the product is not tested on animals, it can still be made of animals. You have to kill beetles to make carmine, and I have seen that ingredient in a ton of cruelty-free (but non-vegan) makeup. Just stick with human or synthetic hair when buying lashes in my opinion, mink tends to be more expensive too, so in my opinion its a win-win.
I’ve been deep diving through all your videos over the last few weeks since I found your channel. I just finished all of vlogmas and I love your personality! You’re so funny, but seeing your serious side in this video talking about the minks really touched me. I admire your compassion. You should be so proud of yourself if even one person stops using “cruelty-free mink lashes” because of your video!
So amazing that you are raising awareness about how animals are treated in the beauty industry! I am also cruelty free/vegan and love seeing beauty influencers openly speak up about the cruel practices which go on behind closed doors. Also love these anti-haul videos x
Love you for being vocal about being cruelty free and for sharing that information about minks. I think you've opened some people's eyes. Also love your channel so much 💕
Nice video. Too-faced needs to slow down with all the releases and concentrate on quality, not quantity. Also, I actually enjoyed your Nars review even though I know you wouldn't buy them because they're not cruelty free. Maybe you can do that in the future, review products even though you wouldn't buy them for their cruelty status just to inform your subscribers who haven't gone all cruelty free yet 🤗
Agree with you 100% about your opinions on KKW. I don't get the hype either. If a bitch can't swatch, what are you doing making makeup ? Do you even know what you're looking for, or trying to achieve when creating makeup? The difference between the kim and Kylie versus rihanna , or even someone who has a bad rep, like say jeffree star, is the passion behind their makeup. For example jeffree use to work at the mac counter, and Rihanna being someone who can relate to being a WOC. They both bring something different to the makeup game, unlike KWW looking like elf packaging. You can tell how much JS and Rihanna care about their customers and what people think about their products, instead of pushing out trash to make a quick dollar. It frustrates me even more when people buy KKW just to review their products. We already know it sucks and you just wasted your money for views. 😑😑
yeah, it really tells you something about a person when they're willing to slap their name on a product that's so obviously terrible. Like you can tell they don't care about the people that buy it, nor do they care about what reputation their name gives off as long as they make money from the deal. Kim being like "I use this all the time!!" like...yeah.....sure.....who are you trying to fool 😒😒
I love animals and I don't usually get torn up just talking about cruelty free and things like that but when you were reading about the minks and showing pictures I cried like a little baby. I am definitely going to rethink all brands I buy. I've never been into lashes so I've never thought of it but this was definitely an eye opener.
I LOVE your filming area, so serene and pretty, easy on the eyes. Also i love your personality, you are so real and not boring like cookie cutter beauty youtuber. Girl you perfect
Thank you, i love to finally hear more people speak on cruelty free items. You give me so much hope i wish every one can hear more about this, it's so fucked up for a company to completely deceive people like that.
Wow thank you for discussing the Mink issue, definitely won't be buying anything from Huda Beauty anytime soon - thats so messed up! I love when you talk about being vegan and cruelty free, its both interesting and inspiring. Although I can understand that not all viewers care to hear about that ☹️
omg gossip girl!!!! Can you please do a review of the new NYX earth?!! #snapchatfam OOOH also, can we get to see a clothing haul for fall? or how to style your clothes for fall? I LOVE your style!!!
I'm so happy I found you! There are not enough cruelty free makeup artists on RU-vid. When there is one, I subscribe right away! I love the message and it helps me on my cf journey. Thanks KiKi!
Same goes for ethically sourced diamonds. Companies sell diamonds at a huge mark up claiming they aren't harvested from slavery. When in reality, you can't trace where the diamond came from at all
Hi! Loved the video and thank you for all the info! I hate when brands do the shady thing claiming they are cruelty-free when they are profiting from cruelty! It's so disgusting and vile! Also, I'm a med student and my Physiology teacher said something that made me wanna hurl and throw something at him: a few years ago he made students experiment on animals in the practical classes (which means if you didn't do it he could fail you) and he actually had the gall to talk about how upset he was that the vet and med students in my college protested and got that banned... like it's horrible, sometimes I hate this class because they also make you read books where the authors do all this scewd stuff to prove things they already know, when instead of removing heart valves or even longs from dogs they could just study already sick people. It makes want to cry I'm so frustrated! Sorry for the rant, love you guys ♥
Loved your discussion about mink lashes and how brands call themselves cruelty free but sell mink lashes.I totally agree and think more people need to see this!!!!!
Kiki Chanel it's great you talk about and support only cruelty free products, but you do need to get your facts right! Huda Beauty lashes are "faux mink" m.sephora.com/shop/search?keyword=P404829
Oh my gosh I totally feel the same way about reading. I used to check out the max amount you could from the library and read them all. Then college hit.... It's never been the same since.
So from my understanding cruelty free means a company does not test their products on animals. However it does not mean that a product does not contain animal ingredients. That is why products with carmine (crushed up Beatles) or mink lashes can be considered cruelty free. This is why many people who are cruelty free also go vegan in their makeup. So to sum up cruelty free is lack of animal testing, vegan is lack of animal /animal products in your makeup.
+Aubree Richelle I will touch on those topics in another video but for now I decided to start with mink lashes. That is all great info but might be too overwhelming for those who are looking to become cruelty free. My issue is with the term "cruelty free" not being taken more literally and your comment definitely covers that topic, so thank you.
I love your anti hauls because they arent petty. You have good reasons not to want it and its so refreshing to hear a real opinion and not more ads being shoved up our asses😶 also, I value your opinion a lot because you stick to your morals and that's definitely something the beauty community needs. "You're doin great sweety" lol honestly, keep making videos keeping these topics relevant
i really had no idea about huda beauty. thank you for informing us about the horrific mink farming that the brand takes part in. i love watching your vids & appreciate your opinions so much!!! thanks for being cruelty free!!!
Could you do a video that's basically a "starter kit" for higher end makeup? I need some suggestions for a few products and I trust your opinion more than most (bonus that you're CF 💖) Thank you!!
The blender comes with the stick foundation! Bought it on a splurge on vacay because I left my foundation at home and it was the main brand sold at the store in my hotel, it is nice but won't repurchase.
I am new to your channel and I am starting to go with cruelty free with my makeup. Thank you for being an inspiration when so many makeup RU-vids buy from companies that test on animals.
I love your anti hauls and I do see your point on the kkw , behind Kim being so new to makeup.. I'd rather invest my own money into an expert as well and trust I'm putting my money into their product that it'll be good. LOVE your makeup look!
I love your videos so much!! You're definitely my favorite RU-vidr. Love the message you're sending, you have really opened my eyes to the cruelty free stuff
Hey there! I just wanted to let you know that I recently purchased the NARS foundation stick and the blender is on the bottom when you purchase it and if you need a new one you can purchase that down the line. I use my fingers the apply the foundation and I really love it. It's not groundbreaking with coverage but I did love the staying power to it and its nice and light. I adore NARS because of the minimal concept that they have. I hate that they are no longer cruelty free but I have a ton of NARS makeup.
YES - Nars is that ex boyfriend who had potential and seemed ok while you were together but after the breakup feels totally problematic so you have to keep tabs to remind yourself they suck.
best opinion on the kim kardashasian line i’ve heard. i dont think its right to be like oh i hate the kardashians so therefore kims makeup line must be trash. the fact that she is a beginner releasing makeup is just a way more valid and fair thing to say.
i totally get what you're saying about the KKW Beauty. She has no idea what she's doing. She's totally winging it. She basically has Mario explaining how to use her product and she basically just asks questions. "you could also use that as an eyeshadow too right?" and then he'll answer the question when it should be the opposite way around. She could never do a full interview about the makeup without a MUA with her. She comes off very... Jessica Simpson when it comes to her makeup. She thinks it's cute and people will give her a pass if she plays dumb and acts like that to be relatable. It's also SOOOO smart of her to be doing the youtube collabs. She's a business woman not passionate about makeup at all.. Kardashian beauty was also a huge bust and a bunch of legal issues. They totally swept it under the rug.. they still have wands at some Ultas. She was also sued for KKW but she won and went forward.
Thank you so so much for constantly calling out these companies on their cheap marketing ploys. It's horrible that Huda Beauty is lying to those of us who are deeply against the cruelty of animals just to sell products. I didn't know she sold mink lashes - thank you for that!
I totally agree with you about the mink lashes. It makes me so sad that a brand would stoop so low to do that and try and deceive people looking for cruelty free stuff
I had literally no idea huda beauty sold mink lashes, I will NEVER purchase from her again this video was so helpful and I LOVE your cruelty free info.
I think I'm going to try audible. I listen to a lot of podcasts but sometimes those get a little.... I get over it. I sometimes have a hard time sitting down and reading a box when I have other stuff to do. I have to say I LOVE YOUR anti hauls!!! I broke up with NARS also. I only have a couple things but I won't replace those when I'm done. Anytime I hear foundation stick, it brings me back to high school and the must have Max Factor stick. I can still "smell" it in my mind 😭. I can't stand the Kardashian makeup craze. They are so out of touch with real world stuff including creating makeup. Not to mention that stuff is soooo overpriced. The fur business is awful. It makes me so upset. 😢 Thanks again for another great video Kylie 💕
I knew what you were gonna say about Huda beauty. I already knew about what goes on in the process of mink lashes but thank you for showing others. The torture these animals go through for vanity is terrible.
girl i agree w/ what you said about KKW being behind the time. i mean, i think everyone kind of thinks of contour when they think of Kim, but she is so late girl. now everyone has a contour product, and nothing about hers is revolutionary. like she shouldve capitalized on this so long ago! girl but you know they're still going to get sold out bc it has her name on it!
