I recently moved to an empty apartment in another country, and out of the few things I had with me was an antique handmade turkish coffee pair, blue with bright flowers. Apparently, a cup can set a tone for the whole room. It gave me an idea to pain The Sun tarot card on my plain dining table, and now I collect bright ceramics and posters. Never knew what my style is, turns out it's a colorful naive minimalism.
yesterday I found 8 small plates and 8 cups (without ears), handmade in grey stone, and I bought them second hand = cheep and good for the planet. they're beautiful, exactly my style and I know I'll keep them for many many years to come!
a few years back i bought a secondhand set of stiff leather cushions, one of which has wheels. they have these beautiful earthy colors that look so nice in my room, and they're practical, not too bulky, and i can put them in the center of the room to make the space feel more balanced and full. best thrifted furniture i own :)
My favorites are almost always one of a kind pieces that I have collected, and rarely things I buy when I’m rushed to fill a space or replace something. Thanks for reminding me to take my time with my choices.
Small detail, I know, but the chess set is rotated 90°. The bottom left square (from the players' POV) should be black (and the Queens should start on their own colors).
Hi Jenny, loved the new edition of the antitrends 🤩 However, I feel like the word investment it’s quite often miss used, for example to justify big tickets buys instead of real investment (the one will give us money back). What do you think? I’m I overthinking it?
I know this comment is almost a month old and I’m not Jenny, but I think an investment piece is one that will give value back. That value can be money, but also things like enjoyment.
Hi, Jenny. My hubby and I are planning on relocating in about seven years after I retire. We always keep that in mind with all of our purchases for our home. “Would we take this to Arizona?” If we wouldn’t, we don’t buy it. Also, I’m glad I’ve found you. :). I’m in a stage production of Murder on the Orient Express and I’m playing Greta, who is Swedish. I’m enjoying your videos and podcast as a way to help me with my Swedish accent. Thanks!❤️
My favourite piece is a drawer/sideboard that I have kept after my aunt (who got it from another family member). Can't wait to have it in my future home that I can decorate slowly with all beautiful quality things. Edit: Just wanted to add that I adore look you are wearing in this video!
I love all your pieces, they’re quirky yet elegant. My favorite modern designs are by Elsa Peretti. I have a beautiful “thumbprint” bowl I actually found in a thrift shop(!) along with a few designs she did for Halston in the 70’s. My dream would be to acquire a set of her Padova silverware and her “bone” candlesticks. Please continue with the interior design videos, I find them so helpful in maintaining a simple modernist style.
Love this! I just got 2 glasses from ferm living (the rippled smoked ones) They are a bit expensive so I'm planning on slowly getting more. When I'm willing to buy more over time, I know they are here to stay 🤗
Always love your interior design videos! I bought the metal pole clothing rack you used to have years ago and I still love it! I absolutely love the teapot as well! Do you have the 0,6L size or the 1,5L?
My worst nightmare is that people will start building cabins in the woods because we will have no woods than anymore. Unless it is reserved only for rich people but don't forget we all earn more and more money each year.
I just noticed this but why did you private ur homemade vegan pasta recipe ☹️ it was my favourite recipe and i dont remember how much of each ingredient to put in
Have you had friends stay over night on the daybeds? If so, how did they like them? The teapot has got a really interesting shape. And the concept of it that makes it fit atop a light to keep the ingredients hot is, let's say, pretty cool indeed. Is there any chance you can get some of these for your merch store? Do you guys beat your visitors usually at chess or vice versa? Those glasses look cool, too. Oh, and by the way, this is the best Mustard / related video in a very long time because of your amazing design choices.
Some classic pieces for the kitchen: tableware Suomi in pure white by Rosenthal, some stainless steel pieces by Alessi, cylinder vacuum jug by Stelton, glasses by iittala about the melting ice of Lapland (designed decades ago but more current than ever before...). These are just some of my favorite pieces. All available second hand which is even more sustainable. 🤍
I love your aesthetic, Jenny! What a great video and message. And that glassware is to die for. I’m going to search for those glasses here in the U.S. But that wouldn’t be anti-haul of me, would it?
