I can state categorically that vaping causes broken limbs . After I began vaping , I became a very keen cyclist , one day I fell off my bike and broke my leg . QED (true story)
I just wanna say, as someone who went from cigarettes, to vaping, to dip, to vaping, to back and forth vape and cigarette along with hookah smoking the whole way, and has finally gone down to just nicotine pouches, zyns in particular (I just got tired of the breathing issues) and I'm 24 years old, I genuinely do get the message that they are trying to send. I really do. But these ads ain't it chief. Nobody thinks nicotine is good for them, nobody is that dumb, and everyone knows it's gonna have health issues, their displayed constantly. But like. Their ads are depressing, not helpful, and their latest anxiety one honestly gives me anxiety and a borderline epileptic seizure everytime it plays, and makes me wanna vape to chillax, or put in a nicotine pouch. Seriously. They aren't helping.
I've been vaping since 14 and I've never once experienced bad effects from it, I'm 18 now and I'm still doin just fine, just lots of kush smoking going on lately (summer vac ✌)
If anything my source of depression began way before I started using Nicotine. I need something to take my mind off it and hardcore drugs is definitely not an option
I’ve vaped for 2 years. Yeah Im depressed lol but that’s because of gas prices, my stupid ex, and the fact that I have to wake up and exist. Vaping makes it all better because clouds bro.
The thing i find more atrocious about truth is that they focus on vaping SO much when there are still people smoking real cigarettes. I started smoking in high school when vapes were in their infancy, me and my entire family quit smoking for good because of vapes. Now there is such a stigma around vapes that normal people think vaping is just as bad for you as cigarettes. It makes me shudder to think that active smokers might gain the same misconception and not switch.
Really wish they'd call it a nicotine addiction not just a "vaping addiction" since not all vaping involves nicotine, so it feels inaccurate. That's like saying smoking cigarettes and joints are both just a "smoking addiction."
to be honest these ads warning against vaping are targeting the wrong thing wheres my no vaping ads for people who are pregnant that would actually make sense
They're targeting kids with these anti-vape ads, not adults. Vape companies like Juul, Kandy Pens, etc. Market to kids and teens on social media, it is incredibly clear. Juul has even gone to high schools and done presentations on their product trying to get kids to vape... If you're an adult, nobody cares that you vape, you have the responsibility to look into the dangers and make your own decision, and your body and brain are fully developed. Most kids don't have the responsibility or knowledge to find good unbiased sources to learn about the dangers of vaping and nicotine and their bodies and brains aren't fully developed. Youth Nicotine abuse is an epidemic in the US.
@@nickmanville900 I have no problem with what you said up until this point and I am willing to believe what you say is true about juul going to schools advertising to kids knowing big tobacco that said. “Youth Nicotine abuse is an epidemic in the US.” The current status of nicotine vaping from medical research is that at the moment they cannot link vaping to a direct cause of disease in otherwise healthy individuals, at the moment that is the position should that change then my considerations are rendered invalid. It is a bit of a stretch to say that nicotine is an abusable substance being that abuse communicates direct harm the only harm nicotine alone can directly cause is the shortening of the periodicity of psychosis in people who have schizophrenia other than that we should be seriously considering what our motive behind a pursuit of a world without addiction would be, being that if we do pursue people who are addicted to substances that cause no harm to the user we should ask ourselves whether that is the right thing to do, whether as a society we are okay with the idea that people can be addicted to substances that do not cause harm to people.
@@harleyjudy2850 While currently there isn't much known about long term health impacts of vaping, that doesn't mean its entirely safe. I'm not trying to attack you or adult vaping at all, I vape THC myself, but the fact still remains that the long term effects are unknown. I'm also not saying we should pursue people who are abusing substances, if they are adults and are abusing those substances on their own time with their own money I have no problem with people doing whatever the hell they want on their own property, hard drugs and all. But this is why its a YOUTH epidemic, whether its health related or not. Kids are getting hooked on nicotine and that's just a fact. Even if it doesn't have any long term impact on their physical health (which it probably does but we still don't know) it can be very damaging to their mental health and social relationships. Most kids don't really have the money or space to cater to their addiction and so end up stealing money from their loved ones, and distancing themselves from family to try and use their vapes in privacy. This causes a lot of tension and makes a lot of kids home life harder than it should be. I've seen this exact thing happen to many kids I was in high school with.
@@nickmanville900 Well first off as dashvapes said is it not better to have kids who vape over kids who smoke the damage is significant. The type of behavior being shown with these kids can be put down as stigma against addicts and general lack of communication and connection between parents and children, many parents in the united states are satisfied with letting their children have free reign over the internet without restriction and are okay with the internet essentially raising their child while they put in inadequate attention to the children I mean just look at the attention spans stats due to tiktok with kids. also just saying I get what you mean I did go to a highschool with what you described and I started vaping after I turned 18 ps I have forgotten to add that yes if you use nicotine as a adolescents you are more likely to become more strongly addicted throughout your adult life
Smoked 20 years, pack of newports a day. Been vaping 8 years. Within a week my cigarette depression lifted and instead of waking up coughing, I woke up full of fresh air and energy. Within 2 weeks my cigarette cough completely went away and my energy and hapiness continued to grow. Within a month my "cigarette withdrawls" that I would often feel while still a smoker, like being somewhere I could not smoke, completely vanished. I was now vaping because I wanted to, not because I needed to. I like the flavors and 8 years later I still like the flavors. The anti vape bullshit in america is just that, total lies. They can all kiss my ass.
i never smoked but vaping really makes life so much easier and helps me with school and stress, i have been vaping for about 6 months now about 400 puffs everyday and it hardly makes me cough or caused any health problems for me really
You're the people vapes should be made for. But many vape companies (Juul, Kandy Pens, etc.) Market to teens. Their main hope is to get the youngest generation addicted to Nicotine, not to help people transition away from smoking cigs. These ads were made for kids, not for smokers.
the reason why people are so "anti vape" is because these kids are out here getting counterfeit disposables from dealers at school and these disposables contain harmful chemicals that the official on brand disposables would never have causing the child to go into hospital and people blame vaping instead of looking into what actually hospitalised the child, also idk about the us but in the uk underage vaping is a big problem here especially with disposables alot of people at my school sell geek bars and other disposables
Exactly what these people don’t realize is the vape ads arent directed towards adults there directed towards children, I’ve seen 6th graders vaping even elementary schoolers
As a person who vapes im highly offended of people who think that vaping is for depressing people. The only thing is that these ads make me depressed because of how cringe they are lmao
I was able to kick a nasty tobacco habit thanks to vaping. I might vape a lot throughout the day but i breathe 20x better than when i was smoking and i don’t constantly cough up tar anymore. The fact that these ads are replacing anti-smoking ads is fucking sad man.
You can tell by the lack of effort in these videos that the people trying to push anti-vaping rhetoric are starting to run out of ideas it's pathetic vaping has actually made my life better I've been able to get myself down to 0 mg nicotine and I feel great
Truth Initiative has sunk to a new low. Imagine an organization essentially making fun of depression. About as humourous as producing a parody about cancer. Without retribution, Truth Orange is free to spread absolute lies about a product which helps adults quit smoking. Meanwhile, in Canada, it is illegal for vape shops to make the slightest claim that e-cigs can help people transition from smoking. What kind of world are we living in?
How do vapes help people transition from smoking? Personally, I don't think they're making fun of depression. The depression happens when a teenager starts vaping because it looks fun, and their friends are doing it. Then 6 months later they're spending $25 a week on pods and feeling incredibly depressed over the fact that they're now addicted to nicotine and have to bring their vape with them everywhere to avoid withdrawals... Thats the depressing part.
@@nickmanville900 Depression isn’t an emotion my friend. If you think that events make you feel depressed, you have no nuance, and there is no discussion to be had here. But I’ll explain anyways. Depression is a mood that happens as a result to neurophysiological changes that occur in response to gene x environment interactions. You do not become depressed because you have an addiction to nicotine. If anything (I have yet to find research that can definitively suggest that nicotine has any roll in the development of depression) nicotine would interact with genes or biochemical processes that would result in a depressed mood (not an emotion, they’re very different). The problem with this kind of advertising is that it tries to be humorous about how vapes cause depression. If vaping were to cause depression, the marketing would be absolutely horrendous, because it would be making fun of the very real, serious condition that is depression with no real solution. But since we can’t even say that it causes depression, it’s even worse. It’s piggybacking on the fear of depression, while making light humor of it for the sake of lying about a product that helps adults quit smoking and to make money of course. Depression is not funny.
@@nickmanville900 Youve clearly never vaped in your life because vaping doesnt cause depression it causes minor stress at best because unlike a packet of ciggarettes its very easy to vape and barely causes you any issues when it comes to "bringing their vape with them everywhere to avoid withdrawals" And how does it help people transition from smoking I used to smoke Multiple grams of tobacco out of a water smoking instrument a day With a vape i feel alot less stressed when i do not have my vape and i no longer wake up feeling my mouth peeling and rotting dry and tasting horrible my tongue being completely rock dry that was my experience with waking up everyday that just doesnt happen anymore with my vape. seeing people spread what you are is disheartening vapes are a positive they do so much for smokers and are the easiest way to quit for most people the only way
i kind of feel personally attacked by the "depression stick" i have been suffering with depression a long time and vapes weren't even a thing when i was first diagnosed with depression
It's funny how anti-vape ads think all eJuice contains nicotine. There are zero nicotine or low nicotine variants guys xD Sure there's still chemicals from the metals and all, but that's with anything you're gonna put in your lungs. The risk is certainly far smaller than the toxins in a cigarette.
Just drink water with food flavoring at that point. There's no need to vape if you don't need nicotine. The soul reason these devices were created was for nicotine. That's like having a cake without icing.
@@gravious8093 More accurately it's like saying why make non-alcoholic beer when it doesn't get you drunk. The reason is because with addictions like nicotine and alcohol there are psychological and physical aspects to these addictions, like the actual physical habit of hitting a vape or picking up a beer. Once you kick the chemical (nicotine or alcohol) you can then try to lessen the physical habit and in that in-between stage things like 0MG vape juice or non alcoholic beer are what you need.
@@bluefungi Many people do eat cake without icing. And the manufacturers wouldn't make 0mg eLiquid if there's wasn't a demand for it. Being able to Vape just helps put you in control of what you're putting into your lungs and body unlike cigarettes, whether that's with nicotine or without.
Not sure when I noticed this but.... For decades it was a fact that nicotine is an anti depressant which is what makes it addictive And now it's a depression drug because vapes?
It's because nicotine ruins your dopamine and serotonin receptors. It takes a while before those receptors get used to the lower amounts of dopamine/serotonin that your body naturally makes which is where the withdrawal symptoms of depression and anxiety come from. The same things every other addictive chemicals do. These ads aren't technically wrong, they're just targeting the wrong products in a very strange way.
I just find it interesting how different the US is. I've never really seen an anti-vape campaign in my country.😂 They usually promote it here as a much healthier option to smoking - for people who are trying to quit cigarettes, but are having a really hard time. But that might be because we have almost double percentage of smokers compared to the US. (Fortunately smoking is getting less and less popular with younger generations.)
My favorite is the metal monster they use to demonstrate the negligible amount of metals that you might ingest if you vape a coke can worth of 50/50 juice per day.
I saw one of these the other day and thought it was about some hardcore drug like heroin, then the big reveal of it being a vape just made me burst out laughing.
These truth ads are so ridiculous that it's like they are parodying or making a mockery about their marketing. It's so bizarre that something is fishy about it.
i would definitely buy a vape pen called depression stick, that's kinda a name that would appeal to kids, also when you come off it ig you will just be hella happy.
The main problem be the counterfeits cuz the kids too scared to just go to a smoke shop, we don't ID half the time if you look 21. If you're like obv a teenager or a straight up kid we aren't gonna sell to you without ID tho
You made a good point. During a global pandemic, suggesting (without evidence) that vaping makes you depressed is pretty exploitative. They ignore that most of the health problems that were being thrown around have been disproven, and that vaping is improving countless peoples lives. I don't vape personally but I don't understand how anyone could be against it. I don't see people railing against cigarettes in the same way even though they will ACTUALLY kill you.
Yeah I keep getting these truth ads, and it's always the ones that show a really genuinely depressing scenario that actually makes me more upset seeing it, then goes, "VAPING CAUSES THIS, DONT FUCKIN VAPE KIDS!!! NOT VAPING WILL FIX EVERYTHING!!! :D" and I don't even vape. In fact the one where it's the "breathe in breathe out" then switches to intense sounds and bright colors stresses me out more than just actually vaping would, cause stuff like that gives me sensory overload. Truth is horribly tone-deaf and I hate it.
I get these videos are dumb but they are obviously targeted at kids. They are meant to stop kids from wanting to get addicted to nicotine, which is something you never really acknowledged. You can vape all you want if your an adult but I have a problem with kids who don’t know any effects of vaping or addiction doing it.
@@blarghinatelazer9394 it got a sweet taste, there are multiple flavors in it like milk, strawberry, cereal and honestly I don't know them all, but it's good, you should try it.
One 5 percent nic vape is about a pack of cigarettes worth of nicotine, the thing is that cigarettes are all that nicotine all at once, and a disposable vape usually lasts about a month or so
The saddest thing now WWE partnered with truth orange. When I was watching last Monday Raw. And AJ Styles refused to sign some kid’s poster because of vape.
I don't understand these ads, they don't talk about cigarettes, they are far worse... I was a smoker, I had problems with my lungs, I coughed every day and I had some sort of asthma crises, until the day I decided to stop cigarettes, because it was too much to support for me, I started vaping, and I quitted cigarettes, and after maybe one month I was already feeling better, now, it's been one year since I stopped smoking, and started vaping, I don't have this sort of asthma anymore, I can literally breathe, I feel much better, and I'm glad that I don't smoke anymore. PS : If you don't smoke don't vape. Please.
I have a request can you do a review of caffeine infused ejuices that replace nicotine with caffeine if they are safe and what there is out there right now
Buuuump? My two cents, I can't imagine absorbing caffeine through the lungs is healthy. I would think the risk of caffeine overdose would be way too high. Consuming two stimulants in that kind of quantity sounds very risky.
There’s this conspiracy that I have which proves that anti vape ads are being made by cigarette or Vape companies as a form of satire but no one knows. But it’s making people not want to quit in spite of how stupid the ads are
Vaping never made me depressed or anxious, actually did the opposite. Personally I quit just bc I’m so short on money, but since I quit I’ve been feeling more depressed and anxious. It wasn’t hard to quit, at least for me, and It’s been months now so it’s not withdrawal. Just everything is so fucked up now and vaping was one of the two things that make me less stressed.
Saying vapes cause depression is really not okay. This just undermines the reality of depression. If anything cigarettes are depression sticks, aka cancer sticks.
I will say one of my friends did get depressed and anxious when he bagan vaping and it got worse until he quit but its a drug everyone reacts differently
It’s more like vaping is a common coping strategy for depression. When other things in life don’t work or don’t help, vaping is the only thing that really helps. It beats stupid worthless distractions.
I wonder if someones gonna start a parody brand of actual vapes called depression sticks. It would be like those shirts they give out for dress code violations, they become a fashion statement.
The key word is CAN because it is not guaranteed that you will get worsened effects of depression or develop depression by smoking its just a possibility and you can probably smoke and be just fine but of you are under the age of 21 I don't recommend smoking even i though not a bad thing it can still stunt your growth
The problem with these commercials isn't that we all think vaping is good for you. It's that most know that vapes are far healthier then cigarettes. But these ads are trying to convince people to switch back instead of improving their health with vapes. There's been a significant rise in children smoking ever since these commercials and I seriously think they should be banned. It's propaganda to boost big tobacco. I'd have so much more respect for Truth/Orenge if they said “Both smoking and vaping is bad, but if you have to do one go for the option that's 95% healthier and vape.” Maybe then they would stop being seen as a joke who doesn't actually care at all about teen vaping.
Yet to be determined, gov't still going though the procedures. To my knowledge there's no official date. Health (cough) Canada stated it wouldn't happen in January.
I don't know bout yall but from my experience with nicotine it only boosts your baseline morale level due to how it affects dopamine, I've never had it cause worse depression despite me having been a depression patient since 2016
The ironic bit of it, is that many smokers just need something to ease the stress, so ask any smoker, I bet you any one of them will say that they smoke whenever they feel stressed mainly
