I played a girl too for one playthrough. They can explore the entire common room which is reason enough. I just don't care for the voice and find the character animations in dialogue strange. They loop between like two or three poses and once I noticed, I couldn't unsee it.

When it comes to fictional media, stuff like fantasy is often overlooked. However in the east is generally not as overlooked as hard and while a lot of the time it’s mediocre there are some really good ones too. If you’re not above watching anime then I suggest you try (Beyond Journey's End) it’s a bit slow and doesn’t have witches and wizards as their simply called mages, but it dose have a pretty good magic system and story, it’s on par if not better that HP.

As much as I hate JKR, let's be honest, she's sadly a millionaire and even if the boycott worked 100%, she would not feel the loss. But there are people who felt it, all the talented programmers, art people, character and story writing people, music people etc who spent years working on this game. And the gamedev industry is so harsh and low paying that 90% of people there work because they are passionate about making video games, because let me tell you as a programmer, with the amount of skills they have, they could land a comfortable job with normal working hours and no crunch for 2x their current pay if they wanted to. JKR is a piece of sh*t and I couldn't care less for her HP universe, even though I was briefly a fan when I was a child, but this game is 99% talented people who worked on it for years and 1% JKR who lent them the right to the franchise and wrote some things for it. And to me personally that was the problem. Because the only person the boycott wanted to actually target, JKR, would not lose her livelyhood due to it, but the other 99% responsible for the game would be affected a lot more than she would. And of course aside from right wing chuds who started buying the game after the boycott thinking they are "based", I was ashamed of the community when they attacked big streamers for playing the game. Was it important to let them know the point of the boycott and what danger JKR is to the trans community? Of course, 100%, but sadly most of the time there was no dialogue but straight up attack from the moment they booted up the game. And most of them do not sit deep into this community or any politics at all, so in their eyes it was just another game from a popular franchise that suddenly brought people flinging shit and death threats at them. So for some of them who are not deep into social issues and politics, they will remember the trans community as the people who wished them all the worst things because of playing a specific game. Sorry if you don't agree, you are of course entitled to your views and I just wanted to give my 2 cents on the matter, because I think we will not erase hate from this world by creating more hate towards those who don't necessarily deserve it. JKR and "based" chuds were the only ones deserving of being called out.

What job? Including a unique historical figure? Yasuke had already been prevalent and portrayed as Samurai in their own media, why can't the West do the same?

@@KodachiC One the story of Yasuke being a samurai is mostly prevalent in the west as a fictional novel (YASUKE The True Story of the Legendary African Samurai)was believed to be historical out side of Japan. In fact the historical literature has very little mention of Yasuke which is why there are different interpretations because when people right about Yasuke they have to fill in the gaps. Most Japanese historians think the the chances of Yasuke not being a Samurai is mostly likely the case than if he was. But that wasn’t what I was referring too, one Ubisoft used Chinese architecture for some other their assets in fact there confusion between the two countries was so bad that the official Japanese trailer’s subtitles was in mandarin Chinese. They also stole art from reenactment group as well as using artifacts taken without permission. Zoro's toy sword from the Japanese manga One Piece. This is not a Japanese sword from the Muromachi period in Japan, nor is it a work of art by UBI but they were selling it as their own merchandise again without permission. That’s like if someone was using Marvel's Thor’s hammer as a promotional item for a Viking game without permission from Marvel. This went beyond creative liberties like the interpretation of historical figures like Yasuke to full on cultural appropriation, something their DEI team should have stopped them from doing. It got so bad that Ubisoft had to put out a apology in both English and Japanese to quiet the outrage however even Japanese politicians like Satoshi Hamada was planning to bring this up to the Japanese Diet (aka national legislature of Japan.) there even petitions in Japan to cancel Assassins Creed shadows. There many RU-vid videos talking about this. If you want to look into this I suggest you start out with (SHOHEI KONDO) a RU-vidr that has some videos talking about this.

@@albino-fish No. Yasuke WAS Samurai. He was given a house, a stipend and a wakizashi, plus as his weapons bearer worked directly under Nobunaga (Bushi usually don't interact with the lords who hire them). If you've watched Shogun, you'll see Blackthorne go through a similar journey whilst serving under Toronaga. It is also believed that had Yasuke been allowed to stay in Japan, he would have eventually became a lord himself. Also Yasuke as Samurai is not exclusive to the West. In the game Nioh he was called the Obsidian Samurai, he's a playable character in Samurai Warriors 5, and another whose name escapes me. All three were Japanese games. He's also listed as Samurai on several official websites linked to Japan. As for creative liberties, if you thought AC was ever an accurate portrayal of history I suggest you study actual history. From the first game their world has been about revealing the "true" history in spite of what previous documentation said. Citing said games I mentioned previously, Yasuke wielded a great axe (not common for Samurai), controlled lightning, did Capoiera and could summon a bear. And in the Tenkaichi manga, he was depicted wielding African weapons. Out of all these AC Shadows will be the most realistic portrayal of Yasuke by a long shot.

Ubisoft’s blatant disregard for their art, culture and history is textbook definition of culture appropriation and this is why Ubisoft’s DEI team failed them in regards to their Assassin’s Creed Shadow and not the inclusion of Yasuke.
