First cover simple subjects like organic chemistry, biochemistry, physical pharmacy, unit operations, inorganic chemistry and forensic as early as possible by preparing very short cut notes covering key points. Bactericidal drugs such as cell wall synthesis inhibitors are effective against rapidly dividing bacterial cells. Bacteriostatic drugs prevent proliferation/division of bacterial cells and hence prevent cell wall synthesis, which is why cell wall synthesis inhibitors are not as much effective. A combination of cefexime and azithromycin is used to prevent bacterial resistance. Although azithromycin is considered bacteriostatic, it is also bactericidal against various pathogens. You have to understand that no antibiotic drug is purely bactericidal or bacteriostatic, it all depends on their dose and the bacteria. So combination therapies are to either provide synergistic effect or to prevent antimicrobial resistance.
