Because both are mydriatics..they only can dilate the pupil..but unable to relax accommodation..so these two drugs can not be used as cycloplegic drugs in cycloplegic refraction.

You said that sympathetic system is actually fight flight system so in sympathetic system pupil should be construct becoz of fear from any forigen things why you giving drugs in antiparasympathetic to dilate pupil you are supposed to constrict the pupil becoz sympathetic and para are both opposite of each other

When we instill eye drops in eye...the pupil dilation and paralysis of Accommodation occurs..and duration means that for how much time this pupil dilation and paralysis of Accommodation will stay.
