The architects did a tremendous job to maintain the scenery and keeping the biggest part of the structure sunken under the ground, as an architect I know this kind of layout requires a great amount of structural planning and thinking of all angles and aesthetics of the whole plan and at the same time maintaining the clients specifications. Great job guys and good Luck to the owners , May they enjoy their beautiful home always, ameen.
Even though they're filthy rich, it's nice they built something that is discreet and in harmony with the traditional greek island architecture. They could have built a pink castle for all I know.
First of all there are great architects in every country. The developing company is doing a project with interesting architects from all over the world, Greek, Japanese, Lebanese, Portuguese and more. The Greek economy is being boosted anyway as almost everyone involved in the building is Greek. You don't need a Greek architect for that. I'm fed up with all the clueless comments written...
@@tokarukoro8196 mediocrity is a curse of life. Waking up at 6am in the morning going to work have lunch at 12pm finish work at 4pm going home have dinner at 7pm . And you repeat the cycle for say maybe 30 or 40 years and after that you retire. The strength of your youth is gone by then. The decision to work hard is the financial foundation you need to think outside the box to make a wise investment to build up capital and progress from there.
this house pales in comparison to what the actual ancient greece did, like Phidias Statue of Zeus, the colossus of rhodos, the temple of Artemis, the Akropolis or even the Pharos of Alexandria.
Yep, it truly pales ! But fortunately I had the opportunity to see some projects that will be built across the world in the next years. They overpass considerably the seven wonders of the ancient world !
@@mihails.6398 maybe in height or detail, but not in historical worth i fear. Since those ancient ones where built by people that technically shouldnt have known what 90 degrees, the density of material or the equator meant, yet they perfectly adapted to those. Would love to keep this discussion going but sadly YT is not a good place for that. Got any other way of keeping in contact ?
When you are born privileged from one of the richest from India with strong political background, for sure you can afford a piece of heaven...life really is a lottery
Going through the comments it's always interesting how some people love to crap on other people's Good Fortune. The jealousy and small-mindedness is quite evident they're always people in the shadows ready to pull you down no matter who you are or what you've done without even knowing you.
I call it not genius... it is more a question of brutal force of money, combined with already available examples of subterrain buildings, like Ando in Japan did. Never mind, it is phantastic to look at..... but I still prefer my old wooden log house, where I can do all maintenance on my own in a reasonable time and the demand of energy is covered by local forests - co2 neutral.
Well done, but it seems to be located so far away from the sea , the beach , I wouldn’t be interested if I had to drive for a swim , once the Greek sea is the issue....I live in Crete , by the sea .....
I would like to see some of the external walls covered with the local natural stone. Just to "break up" this whole white fascia into smaller areas...making this huge house look smaller and even more adapted to it's "wild" surroundings.
Those concrete shaft that allow ventilation and sun light rays to enter the building, are they covered or.?what about rain water? How do they control it? Can any one elaborate that to me, please architects @4.03
What a headache of a video: fragmented shots of the interior that prevent comprehensive presentation of the architecture, broken by annoyingly emphatic and loud commentary whose duration increases with time. We got it has a pool; get on with it.
the heritage of the island's architecture and of the island's character is already lost with the huge construction activity that took place all the past 15 years arbitrarily and without any plan. The fact that this house is somehow landscape friendly does not make it pure or friendly to the island's basic idea. And thats because of the scale, which is enormous and totally out of the island's architectural nature and also because is built in the middle of nowhere.... were the landscape, as far as i can see, was totally untouched. So... no matter how impressively you try to point out the purity of the glamour and the privillege of these kind of "invasions" , tha fact is one. That the greek islands one by one are becoming more rotten and "old" and overpoppulated in summer and they constantly lose their innitial simple character. The most of the greek islands have already become extentions of the modern, overconsuming way of perception in every aspect. So enjoy the land and the beaches that were available for everyone, and now one by one are made private... but please.... dont speak about greek islands and their beauty. Their beauty and their truth died the moment everyone started speaking about them. Just think how stupid is to go to a tiny island and build a pool..... this is total sickness. Let alone all the rest.....
@@gahtsno1 for shit they have probably a cesspit. They gave so much money so i guess they may have exapnded the water supply pipe system too.. who knows.
its easy to build like this, if have endless resourcess ... luky, the ones who can afford this, pitty for them who cant - as 99% of the viewers here (me too). if mankind one day decides to do somthing about climat change, it would be a good start to tax such houses heavily. but by then, most species will be gone.
Er is woningnood en deze eigenaars die in Engeland waarschijnlijk werken laten hun eigendom in Griekenland achter. ... voor hoelang ? Such a waste ....
the fact that it is an incredible project does not mean that it is not open to criticism. For example, I don't understand the effort of burying an entire building to harmonize it with the ground, and then leaving those white blinding shreds of walls exposed. And if you answer me that white is the typical color of Greek architecture, I reply you easily: then leave everything in sight and do not bury anything.
So much concrete for that building ,I am not at all jalous.for richness I have been working for rich people in south of France and they are just dramatically cheesy and they think they are eco friendly building such house ...
too many sharp angles , its like a spanish house ... later the architect is portugesse ... if you think its just envy that drives my comments check what traditional houses look across the aegean , this is more like a californian interpretation of the aegean aesthetic , an american's beach house that never came to greece , its like taking a traditional british house paint it white and blue and call it greek , it doesnt go like this
Greek landscape is terrible compared to what it used to be and could be again. Its pretty much becoming a desert, when once it was the thriving Savannah. Its the same when people say Scotland's heath land is stunning. Its a dying landscape. The Mediterranean is pretty much a barren waste ground compared to what it should be.
