Amazing. The apron with the button side. The smaller piece would have been used to dry hands or a tea towel would be attached. They did this for holiday dinners so their apron bottom wouldn't get wrinkled or as a hot pad. My grandma had many sets she or. Her mother would have made. Sadly, my uncle threw all of it out. The bed trunk is gorgeous. The tank top style shops are chemise or shift. They were under a dress jacket in early 1900's. Tfs
Ohhh thank you for solving that mystery for me! I'm so glad you commented.. I will try to keep them all together, I'm sure you don't find sets so often anymore. ❤️
OMG me too !! I dream about finding treasures in attics. I use to love going up into my grandparents attic back in the 60’s. And 15 seconds into this video I see a paper mache Halloween lantern just laying on the floor. I have a few that I bought $$ and they are lovingly wrapped in tissue every November….🧡
Oh, the tatting! Oh my, I'm drooling now. A serious weakness for my art dolls. What a lucky girl you are with your treasures. The old photos and frames. Gorgeous
How fun! I've been doing the same thing at my mother's home. It will be 2 years in March she will have been gone. I'm just now emotionally able to go through her closets. She enjoyed collecting interesting items, and saving family items.
It is so natural for everyone to have a lot of self doubt in our own skills and talents !!! You absolutely have a beautiful talent of forming and especially painting these awesome little creatures !!! You have a gift and now you have found a voice to share you thoughts and bits of your soul in these creations and your stories do really deliver a meaningful message ❣️Thanj you for reaching out to us ❣️❣️❣️
What a great treasury collection of social history items! Those of us who make Junk Journals could make good use if old papers and fabrics to give them a new life.
I'm amazed too.. there has been no sign of mice in anything we found, a few moth holes but really everything is very well preserved! I agree that some really lovely quilts could be made 🥰 Thanks so much for watching 🩷
Yes.. the interesting thing to me is that this house has been rented for so many years and there's no sign of anyone going through anything or really touching it at all... I'm not sure I would have had that sort of self control 😬🫣😅
I loved looking thru all the stuff you found...I think I would be in heaven to go the archives of a families life. I would be interested in ephemera of any kind. ❤️
Thanks so much for watching Joanna! I agree, this came at a time when I've been almost too busy to enjoy it and stop but even at my busiest if Dave brings in a new box of letters or photos I drop what I'm doing and start sorting through 🥰 can't resist! 😅
Loved watching. Nettie is your comic relief😅 I really can’t believe that families would just abandon all if these memories! I love vintage cards and have some that were my grandmas. I also love German things, as I am of German heritage and my daughter knows German very well so can translate for me. Can’t wait to see what you put up for sale. ❤
Aww, thanks Lynne! Yes I'm the straight man and she's the real comic 😁😅 I know people would love to have some of the correspondence so I'm trying to figure out how to divide that up. My family has a lot of Germam heritage too. 🥰
Oh!!!!! That is incredible, Rosanna. Such eclectic gorgeous old treasures. Browsing must be so much fun. And such work, too!! I had a good laugh with you. „We weight pillow cases in pounds here.“ Netties: „Don’t even think… Don’t even think…“ And the absolut best: „If I would have to wear these, I would probably not come down in the morning.“ Oh, and I can’t answer any of your good questions. But I would like to know too. ;) I‘m definitely interested!!! And I don’t mind "bad conditions" I often find it so depressing that so many wonderful ancient things are likely to be found and then thrown away because they are torn, incomplete, stained...etc. But there is so much that I and many others probably want to do with it because of that.
Aww, I'm glad you had a few laughs 😅 I was afraid this was going to be way too long and boring but evidently there are a few of us who just love anything old and will put up with my droning for that! And I agree, for using in journals and things, these are perfect as the fabric is so worn and tells a story and gives a feeling and it doesn't have to be very strong anymore as it will be reinforced with the pages. 🥰
Dear Rosanna thank for your contribution. You have found such beautiful an d original things! Maybe you can sell somethings at a fleamarket or garage sale. I always enjoy listening to you. Thanks for your Time. Love Irène 🌻🌺🌼🌹
Hi Jrene! Thank you so much for your kind comment 🥰 I'm definitely thinking about a garage sale or flea market when summer comes around and in the meantime might sell small batches of things online. 🥰
Oooo! The little apron that is blue with what looks like red poppies. I know that print. I believe its late 40's. I have a old feed sack quilt my grandfather made( he was the only boy, with 6 sisters) he learned to quilt so he could date the ladies. Lol Anyway is a feed sack. What fond memories of the stories he told.
Rosanna, I collect old letters and stamps. I am collecting letters from the different wars. Soldiers writing home. When I got enough , I hope to publish a book. I will not use the real names too protect those who have written. I have been fortunate so far one letters purchased and donated. I will get on Instagram and find you too see if you part with any treasures. You and your daughter are so beautiful and fun. Cute cats.
