Sharing creative experiments in spun cotton, paper mache, illustration and story. I'm a self-taught artist who works mainly with reused and vintage materials. I'd be so happy for you to make along with me!
When I made your larger strawberries, I dried them in the toaster oven on a piece of parchment paper and nothing stuck. 🍓 BTW you're a very good crafter person!
You're not alone with those attacks. got overwhelmed at work some time ago and the first thing my mind yelled was 'under the table! grab the yarn' in the middle of a rush at work. Ended up sitting under the table during my break. Someone else just did the same when she had her break afterwards. This video helps, not only you in finding you're not alone and you don't have to be ashamed and for others as they are also not alone.
Your videos are what started me on spun cotton, I’m from the uk and don’t think I would have heard of it or understood what it was without your detailed videos and once I saw it I had to give it a go! Have actually sold a few pieces! The fact that you are so genuinely honest about what your going through and why you make what you make made me well up,I don’t think that’s happened with a craft video before. Think that reflects my own art a way to cheer up the darkness that sometimes surfaces but the part about giving the mouse the life they deserve 😢. Please never stop showing us your work xx
I've been wanting to make spun cotton figures, particularly mice so thanks! Oh, and Listening to hypnosis audiobooks dealing specifically with anxiety reduced my panic attacks to nearly zero. Saved my sanity.
You have answered some very fundamental questions I had in regards to taking my spun cotton next level so thank you. Sad most days 😢 how you are okay xxx
I just received my little mouse kit today! What a lovely surprise with all the little good goodies that you have included! I can’t wait to get started and you can be sure I will be making some of those little strawberry pins as well! I appreciate all of your hard workfrom the watercolor cards to your extremely informational videos! Thank you again.❤
Discovered your channel this week! I love the strawberries and plan to try it. Then maybe someday the mice! I love your teaching style, you are very easy to listen to!
EEEEKKKK!!!! I'm tearing apart my bathroom looking for my bag of cotton balls! =) I NEED to make one of these now! Great video! I'm new here... and I subscribed!!!!
I absolutely love love love your videos! Thank you for sharing your lovely world. I can’t wait to try making these. I’ve been gathering my supplies and am ready to try my hand at spun cotton. Wish me luck! 🍓😊
How cute! Thank you for sharing how to make these adorable strawberries - very straight forward. Loved that your daughter was making along with you - so sweet. I'll definitely be making some.
You are an amazing artist! I love your work! You inspire me! May I ask , is it possible to use those strawberryies for commercial use for example in junk journals because I'm making junk journals?Thank you for sharing those magical little strawberries ❤️
I am so happy to have found your channel. Your speaking is instructive and calming. Beatrix Potter comes to mind while I watch sweet little creatures come to life with cotton. This inspires me to give this art a try. Thank you.
Hi, that was just a cotton muslin fabric - it's an old piece and that's why it's so crinkly but any plain cotton fabric would work. And I would think linen would too. Or flannel.
I just watched this almost 2 years after you posted it! And I really enjoyed everything- your safe haven for animals, your sunny studio filled with wonderful fabrics and things, the dollhouse you made yourself, your cat, and best of all, your daughter! I love flea markets and live close to a big one. I love what you got at yours, especially the frames, prints, books, and teacups. I love old dishes, too. I’m a lot older than you, and I admit, I laughed when you said you had 75 plates. My husband asked me one day why I still bought dishes, since he was sure I had service for 200! (And I didn’t stop after that!) Your chair is the sweetest. It’s perfect. You made me happy, seeing all your finds. It was a flashback to when I was always finding my own wonderful things. Best of all, I still do it! Thank you for sharing your finds. I have a lot of your videos to watch, and I’m looking forward to it!
Aww, thank you for this wonderful comment! Always good to meet a kindred spirit ☺️ it sounds so lovely to live near a regular flea market, goodness I might become a regular hoarder 😂 I would certainly have to become more selective and learn to just browse sometimes 🤭 thanks so much for watching, so nice to meet you! ❤
Nettie, I’m amazed how fast you are!! I need more lessons from you! Rosanna another precious and fabulously fun project and tutorial! I made three strawberry pins today. I’ll send you pics via IG. Thanks ladies for sharing your talents with us! 👏🏻😍🍓📍
I'd like give my recommendation for nail art tools for crafting. And you can find them at dollar stores, usually in sets. You'll be shocked how handy they are.
Oh wow! Thanks for the suggestion, I will mention that. I honestly don't know what they have in them (i assume tiny brushes?) but next time I'm at a store I will check them out 🥰 thank you!
I'm not even gonna lie...I said a swear word when the thumbnail popped up in my feed after I caught my breath and closed my jaw. 😂 So excited for this.
I LOVE your video tutorials! Don’t do scripted videos, you’re fabulous! If anyone says otherwise just ignore them ❤ Honestly, I watch a TON of different tutorials daily and yours are on my favorites list!! 😍👏🏼💯
I am a mom and I am so incredibly excited to try and make my kiddos some amazing little characters. I’m in my 30s and my daughter is 3. We both loved your videos. I am so happy that I found your channel! I subbed. I can’t wait to see what else you can teach us :) just be you! It’s YOUR channel ;) for a beginner, this is amazing instruction. Do what makes you happy, not anyone else.
LOVE, Love, those delicious strawberry pins. Thank you Rosanna and Nettie for a very inspiring tutorial. Your instructions are concise and easy to understand. My plans are to make several, some for me and some to share. Always enjoy your posts on Instagram and so appreciate your sharing your talent on Flosstube. ❤
@mariaw2810 awww, so happy to hear this! Thank you so much for such a kind comment 🥰 and thank you for introducing me to the term Flosstube 🤭 I had heard it but really not looked into what it referred to and I'm glad I can now look around for other creators in the Flosstube world! 🥰
