Here is a gorgeous mahogany mantel clock with floral inlay, 8 day time & Strike, made by The Sessions Clock Company in the early 1900's. What is remarkable about this clock is the self-correction feature for advancing the striking of the hours. My name is Ab and I welcome you to join me as we look at what I think is a stunningly beautiful clock!

Thank you Practical Fixes! Your profile pic, is that the steering wheel you repaired in one of your videos awhile back? That really came out nice!

I’ve been looking for this exact clock. I bought one when I was a teenager and foolishly sold it after five years. I’ve been looking for one to replace it since.

They do show up on ebay once in awhile. You will have to be pretty vigilant to find one though. The foolish things I did when a teenager are without number, but I feel your pain. :) There's still many nice clocks out there, you'll find a nice one I'm sure.

WAM (West African Mahogany) has been used on doors, solid, or veneered, for decades in the Uk, and is probably the commonest veneer (but one of the nicest), you can get. Did you know that Brass is Anti microbial, ie it is safer for your use, as you won't catch diseases, from handling these door-knobs ! Ps, my mother was born in 1908, certainly was a good year ! Take care, Stu xx

Thank you Stu! Mahogany is such a gorgeous wood. Wasn't sure about the extent of product used from Africa. Appreciate that. Didn't know brass was anti-microbial. I've heard silver was and that they lined canteens with it in WW1 and it prevented dysentary. Not sure if that's true or not. One hears a lot of poppycock over the years! Nice tie in for the 1908 date! Appreciate your nice comment. Hope you have a great day!

I have a Plymouth wall clock very old but the movement is missing it has 3 hold points. Can you help me?

If the movement is missing, then you will have to find a used one on ebay or take one out of another clock. I don't know what you mean by "3 hold points" so I regret I cannot help you without further information.

I just bought this exact clock today, off Craigslist for $79. Its in amazing shape and it appears the only thing keeping it from working correctly is a missing pendulum weight. Can anyone tell me what weight it should be? Thanks!
@time4clocks
@time4clocks 10 месяцев назад
Hey Joel, I just weighed the pendulum bob in mine and it is 2.9 ounces. I don't recall if I showed the pendulum in my video or not but its 1.5 inches across, round, the center is raised on the front and back and has an S in the middle. 😸

@@time4clocks that's perfect, thank you so much for taking the time to get me that data! Is TimeSavers a good place to try and find that part, or do you have an alternate suggestion? Thanks!

@@joelmunger2395 they have different ones that should work but when I get off work I'll see if I can find an original one online.

@@time4clocks they have a reproduction but it does at least have the "S" on it

If it's the same weight it should work. Here is one on ebay, an original www.ebay.com/itm/305078769172?hash=item47081c9614:g:85cAAOSw5CFk35GP&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4KVY669UvmJ%2B4tXTGBVg2TazqL6N4ek%2BaeAI3%2FAFcNPToNNAOMy2yj2oLwHOW9%2FAbmNwVpe4tDQXEtF0A5YVPsN35B7%2Br0YJf1ghuvgREPUmPew%2FuvdyJz6wy8WoaJsN45nKyZLLbU5OPYWDIn6s2zeXndgktPYXj8FbN18ldxo5VBEnm9m5lg8w7GLvSm51KoxgDHbmcgplp69ZCHcMn6DhiFypX5gYEdNr0BGZEAuMb%2FHAY1br8X2r%2FIjRCE8ckG2ec7GUBfFVdrO8mrSfIvpDDQ7qkYf1C8vO8e8fMZOS%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5rj1LXDYg You can find others by putting in pendulum bob s in the search bar. Some people may not know it is sessions and just put s in the description. The one in this link needs the wire straightened a bit but that is the one you are looking for. Some of the repro ones have S but are 5 sided from later session pendulums. If you don't care about having an original one then anything of the proper weight will work. @@joelmunger2395
