Alla, your easel is soooo good🎨 and the colors all around you are a painter's dream!!🌈Way back in 1969 I was lucky enough to be on a magjcal bus tour of Europe with my beloved art teacher Sister Louis Mary and a group of young women art students❤❤We only stopped an hour or two for lunch on Lake Como, but that glittering jewel was a highlight of my journey. Your images of the lake today sparked that treasured memory for me, thankyou!
I love all of your purchases but particularly the sofa and two chairs. I think you got a real deal there as well as with the chandelier. What a great place to go and wander. I do wish you could have gone through the warehouse as well. I would love to nose around in there all day long.
I love the Staffordshire Dogs, I think they are English and date back to the 1850's to the 1900's. They are a wonderful collection, you will get the next ones! That is a wonderful shop to dig through for treasures Thank you from Boston we love your Vlog
I could see you with the chaise. The chairs and sofa are very attractive. You're right, you can live with the material until later on. Your friend found an Escargot dish and toast holder, yes? The chandelier is very pretty. Once cleaned, it will be gorgeous!
Did you forget about the art easel for your art studio? You seemed so sure, even putting the price tag in your pocket ^_^ Love the chandelier, the green colors in it are perfect. Some people like to keep the darker patina of the metal, or just lightly polishing to lighten a little, but not too shiny metal. The 3 Euro dog was wonderful, nice detail and color, very cute.
I must send you the dogs I have told you about in a previous video. I have at least one big one and a couple of small one. Since you love them that much, I must make work from sending it to you. Love everything you bought especially the green chandelier. Shame you did not get the easel.
You are so fortunate to have so many authentic vintage art around you. The chandelier is beautiful and I also live the tapestry. Wgatever you end up using it for, it would give your home a lot of character.
That was so much fun! I was at our local Thrift store today and got a few bargains myself! I can't wait to see the little sofa and chairs in front of your fireplace! Here in the States we call a sofa for 2 people, a Love-seat! The lake was amazing, so calm and the reflection so beautiful! Our God is such an amazing Artist!!! Looking forward to seeing where you put that beautiful chandelier!
Deviled eggs. Boiled eggs cut in half long ways. Take all the cooked yolks out and mix in mayo and chives. Spoon back into the egg halves and dust with paprika.
I am soooo happy you bought the antique tapestries!!! They will look magnificent when you finish mending them. I love your vision! Great finds today, Alla. ~Terri 😊
Glad you didn’t buy the big dogs and spent money on other things instead. Love furniture and the green in the chandelier makes it very special. Love the colors and complexity of the tapestry. Either sewn back together or in pieces I would put it behind glass or a faux frame on the wall as an art piece. I live in Arizona and Native American weaving/rugs are frequently displayed that way.
You are so excited and enthusiastic about the easel it made me excited as well! So happy you found such a special item and will love to see you use it one day 🥰
Oh my goodness I would run myself broke going to that secondhand/ antique store so many treasures. You got some lovely things. I’m crazy about Chandeliers, sadly I can’t have any because we have low ceilings. It’s good to observe though.
Alla, I had to giggle listening to you in this "marketino" ... you remind me of my children 50+ years ago in a candy shop. Every new piece they saw excited them more and more than the previous one! "Oh, mommy, I must have this one and that one!" They would surely have been sick had I given in to every plea! You really did have a glorious time! This was a great shop to find! Your purchases will be fun to watch how you ultimately use them in your villa renovations!
The lake is exquisite! I'm so glad you take the time to relish the beauty! If you shine a flash light on the chandelier, it might glow, from uranium!? Thank you for taking us shopping!!❣
Oh Alla, the Mercantino, is that how it's spelled? I would love to visit with you and Charlotte! The pieces you bought are so pretty 😍 I can picture them all in the Villa! I know it's a lot of work, you make it look so cozy and ❤❤❤ whoo hoo!!!
Alla I've always liked the victoriana dogs on the fire place and I think the armchairs and sofa will be just right in front of you're stove , you're looking so comfy and the ambiance of the fire burning in the room reminds me if when I was younger . Nothing like a stove with burning logs to feel cosy and I think Cherrie loves it too I feel cosy myself watching you're video, looking forward to seeing you're wash room finished you both works so hard and you keep going even in the cold bless you ❤❤❤
The copper chandelier is a treasure. It looks very old. It will be a sparkling jewel when it is polished. My favorite find today is the set of sofa and chairs. I caught a glimpse of them when you first saw them and knew what you were thinking. Such perfect pieces for the kitchen fireplace. You said from the very beginning of the kitchen restoration that you could see a chair on either side of the fireplace. Now you have them. You and Charlotte will be going back to that shop very often! ♥️
Alla, since the loveseat & two chairs sit low, you may wish to add more padding to the seats to improve the height to floor ratio & to make them more comfortable. Don’t be in a hurry to buy fabric to recover them. Wait until the right fabric shows up in your shopping expeditions & fills you with excitement. A curated house is the most interesting.
If you painted panels on either side of an entry way copying the motifs of the tapestry you found ? That could be beautiful way to honor the design . ❣️❣️❣️
FYI--get the tapestry appraised before changing any remnants (and make scanned photos of it for research on dating/origin). May need to leave them as is and just put under glass (sealed) on either side of doorways.
Thank you for taking us for your shopping tour….. you are so lucky to have those vintage and antique shops. Most of all the things are so much cheaper then what we pay in North America. 💖
What a lovely trip to the vintage place.. I loved that full size easel. Did you get it? I also love the tapestry pieces. They will inspire the colours for a room. Maybe you can frame some pieces too!
What a fantastic outing to the lake and to the mercatino. It looked like a beautiful day and lots of fun. I love the easel and hope that you were able to buy it. You also got some other lovely things. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new lounge chairs and the chandelier look in their new locations in your home, and what you create with your fragments of tapestry. What exciting projects!
The antique tapestries...maybe you could take a part of the design and colors and paint it onto the ceiling/ceiling beams ? You're such a fantastic artist
We are taking a trip to Italy in the fall and Lake Como is on our list of destinations. We will be staying in Cernobbio. Can you give any info about must see or do for that town? ❤️😊
The lake is so beautiful. My cousin will be there in March ( she’s so lucky) No matter what the weather it’s so lovely. Thank you for taking us to the mercantile , so many treasures.
You found some beautiful treasures for your chateau…you will make them all even more beautiful! I hope you got the little dog planter at least? So cute. Not as cute as Chere, of course, but very cute! Who knows, maybe you’ll get the four dogs next time…they will be waiting for you. I’m sure you will be going back to that dreamy shop!❤
The shop is an awesome overload, I seen many items that were totally my taste, it would have been torture for me to walk past and not buy lol. Thank you for sharing the experience.❤
Alla, what lovely things you’ve purchased! You didn’t mention that absolute magnificent easel! I hoped you would buy it and start painting the beautiful scenery around you! Those are incredibly rare and I was gobsmacked at the price! It was so low! I’ve long wanted one like that, but here in the states it would likely be $2,000USD or more. I hope you’ll go back for it. I wish we had antique stores like that where I live. The lake was gorgeous this morning!
Oh I forgot to say Alla ,the metal piece your friend thought was for napkins, was actually a toast stand ,there still used today in the UK hotels,BBs ect !
Try putting the sofa and the two chairs facing each other with the fireplace in the centre with a small table between. Then everyone can see the fireplace great for social and conversation. I believe you will have more room in your kitchen doing that and it will be open to the rest of your kitchen. You will not have your back to anyone when using the settee. It was a good find and a good price.
Loved the pretty walk you showed very scenic. Wow what lovely bargains you bought love the easel that will be just perfect for you for your paintings to do on. The tapestry the chairs and sofa, the chandelier the other little things you have bought all so lovely Alla. Loved watching😘
Oh my goodness I have just recently found your channel, and I adore it, you, and all of the incredible work you are doing! I feel your excitement at the Mercatino, along with your sense of being overhwlemed and spolied for choice with so many splendid pieces! I wish I were there too! Looking forward to your next installemnt!
over powers room/kitchen. just being candid. can't rush finding right things for your home long term only have so much room so easy to fill up rooms with stuff - recommend being more selective. - my opinion only
The antique shops and reclamation yards are amazing in Northern Italy! We went to one between Lecco and Milan. Wonderful items from affordable to breaking the bank 🙂 Enjoy.
Thank you Alla for taking us along. I hope or wished you had bought the easel but maybe it will still be another time. The bones of the chairs and sofa are good but living with the fabric would be hard to do, so at least cover them if you use them very soon. The current sofa is lovely so maybe it can used it in another room. I saw so beautiful stuff in those antique shops. ❤❤❤❤❤
What a great shop!! Loads to see and dream about. The green in the chandelier is gorgeous💚and your 3 piece suite is👌. Did you get the easel in the end? Thanks for the lovely views from Belano. Fantastico! Mi piace molto 😊
❤❤Wow Alla, love the Mercantino, soo much beauties, love the statues, you have to buy some to put them in proseco corner and in the little garden or near the pond. All those chandeliers, love the one you bought. The loveseat with the chairs was a great price. My jaw drop when you open that door at the Mercantino❤❤😅😅. The tapestry if you can't save it as a whole, you can make tiny picture frames. ❤❤❤Yhank you for sharing this awesome shop.
I really enjoyed this episode. The store of antiques is wonderful. Did you get the easel? I would have taken a picture of the tapestry material and painted it on the wall in your home. I agree the colors are beautiful. The tapestry seems to be deteriorating. So I would take a lot of pictures with your phone and reproduce it on the wall as a border. Wouldn't that be beautiful. Had fun just looking at all the beautiful things,❤❤❤ thank you.
Im so glad you found the chairs and loveseat! I saw them when I was at the shop recently, and was admiring the curved shapes of the wood. The chandelier will be wonderful wherever you put it. Have a great weekend😃
I am always looking forward to your blog, your adventures, great remodeling and nature around your town is just breathtaking....ohhhh I will sit in your backyard all the time. I have one question....can you swim in your lake over summer? Is water cold in the summer or warm?
Hi! Just discovered your channel. We’ve got a house in the hill on the other side of the lake (Camnasco). Just wondered were this antique shop is. Great things. Thank you for letting us know.
Omw!! Beautiful Mercatino. Love your chairs and couch Alla. Those delicate dining room chairs were absolutely beautiful. Is Charlotte from South Africa originally, I'm sure I heard an SA accent? I do love the colours of the tapestry💙💛🤎
Ciao Alla, I really enjoy your channel!! I live in Monza and just love driving up to the Lake each time I can! It's nice to see you showing your everyday life, the wonderful work you are doing and the beauty of the Lake without any useless filters! ❤❤❤ May I ask you where that mercatino is at?
Did you buy the easel? The green chandelier is so special and also the amazing tapestries. You have a good eye for beauty. Did you say the price of the chandelier?
Alla, this was the 'BEST' Mercantino so far!!! Loved all your purchases....Did you purchase the easel ? Hopefully you did!! Would like some history on it and how you use it..... thanks again for a wonderful video.
Dear Alla, would you mind telling where this Mercatino is? I don' live that far away from you and would love to visit. Love your renovation story, and can't wait what antiques you two find to decorate your home.
I'm in the US and I don't think I would ever find things for that cheap as in the shop. I'm always jealous of the shops there and in France in vlogs I watch. Love the sofa and chairs but I personally thought the dogs were not very pretty at all. I thought their faces were a bit creepy haha.
