*My name is Alla and together with my husband Sergi we are on a big journey #renovating a historical house on the #Lakecomo.*
Villa D'Oro is a beautiful building in traditional style with a fabulous view on the lake Como and mountains. Like a time capsule it contains marvellous objects and original features such as cotto Lombardo, stone and marbel fireplaces, exposed beam ceilings, wrought iron decor on windows, authentic wooden shutters, beautiful cantina with vaulted ceilings and many more. All these are precious elements of Lombard architecture and Italian rural home. With all my heart I want to bring it back to life, carefully renovating all the unique details using local materials. It’s not just a home it is a project focused on preserving and recreation traditions and culture and sharing it with guests that will be able to stay in this home.
There are so many reasons I love, love, love this page. Mostly it is the joy and hard work that you and Sergi do that adds to your sweet house. The gardens are amazing and the love and care from your sweet and charming mom! ❤

Oh Alla I had to pick the berries all summer too! But you know, the chores we do as children teach us good work ethic and you have that. If parents do not give the children responsibility, they are less motivated to take on a project like your house later in life. You learn to preserver, to take joy in work and to find solutions when there is a problem, not to just give up. It is a delight to see mother and daughter such good friends, and isn’t it funny to notice how much you are similar to your parents!
