Excellent job. Was very impressed. The sound difference between the unbalanced fan and balanced fan was quite large. Kudos to you for lubricating and restoring the motor to its former glory. I'm surprised you do not have more subscribers from the quality of your videos. You just won another one. I watched your other vacuum update video and the wheels you made look perfect. Nice job on the lathe. The older Bakelite wheels I'm sure contain some not so great binders that they used instead of your regular Delrin. The bag that you made was quite impressive as well. I'am not one for sewing but I will learn one of these days since my focus is more on older lawnmowers. Eagerly awaiting your next update video and keep up the good work!

What do you mean? The fan wasn't even installed when he first tested the motor, balanced or not!

Thanks, that was great. Very interesting. I have a Cadillac Model 141 (aka Super Vac). A painted version similar to yours, 300 Watt motor, 2-speed. I think yours is a one-speed? Looking forward to Part 3.

Is the cord short just for testing or are you going to run an extension cord to that cord?? That’s what I do with all my 1940’s power tools. It makes it so much easier to put the tools away without a long 10’ cord. Outstanding job

As the vacuum is fully assembled, the handle is designed to be easily removed, so the handle has the end of the cord with a socket on it to plug in the motor. In retrospect, the original length of the motor cord may have been 10" (that's what the Packard motor had) and it might've been cut down over the past 90 years. Admittedly, that's a great cord management solution for power tools... not having a cord lol

I would have preferred you to have ground one of the fan blades down to balance the fan wheel, it had not been so obvious

Have you tried it out, yet?
