Very very interesting. As an avid cook, a collector of antiques and having an interest in social history. You always explain things in an engaging and humourous way. Thanks 😊
I like to think of waves of intrepid collectors inspired to set out looking of a weekend, scouring the shops, fairs and markets, finding their own little treasures
Fabulous Michael!! Shamefully I was unaware of the information you've so kindly furnished us all with, but I am eternally greatful to you for passing it on!! Keep up the good work please!!
Nice little fork, I’m sure I’ve seen that or one like it at an auction recently, it looked interesting but unmarked and as I don’t know enough about them to know what I’m looking at yet I passed it by. I know a lot more now thanks to you Michael 👍🏻
Wow! What a find! Keep it up! It would be great if at some point in the future you could do a video about soup ladles - it’d be great to hear some advice on them and would be even better to see some good examples. 👍
Was it a real battle winning the auction? Surely big london silver dealers like daniel bexfield compete against you,? Fabulous fork :) Ive just my entire collection of antiques which included approx 300 peices of silver. Probably should have sold my silver to daniel as i know he pays pretty much the best prices along with the london silver vaults. I know somebody who bought a top class bird designed 19c london made large silver claret jug for £200 in a french flea fair and sold it to the london silver vaults for £25,000.
