I fix high cpu in Anitx Linux after update #antix #linux #debian Download my configuration files: git clone gitlab.com/artibus1/mench.git Thank you for watching. Please like the video and subscribe to my channel.
@@linuxmench2118 Hummmm ... The small triangle in the CPU column of htop indicates that the processes are sorted IN REVERSE ORDER so you only see the processes with 0% CPU. Press I to toggle the order.
This video was made last October. My install was showing high CPU on two different computers. My fix was a workaround. More recently, I did a fresh install of Antix and it didn't have the high CPU. I think it was a bug (not a virus) that was fixed in updates. But I'm only guessing I really don't know. Are you running Antix and is it showing high CPU usage?
@@linuxmench2118 how thoughtful of a response. I'm fairly new on using Linux sistems and I chose antix has a fairly light distro and also the mint like design, I've always been a windows user. since around that date, I have been having more crashes and freezes on my sistem and I think it is the cpu, though usually does not get to high nor it seems to be related to the problem, I thought it might have been a cache overflow but I did a hammer test and came out clean. Thank you for your time.
@@user-po1pk6zg8f You're welcome! If your freezes and crashes are on Linux, it's most likely due to NVIDIA graphics card. They don't play nice with Linux. But I'm guessing and could be wrong. I have one computer with a NVIDIA card and it will do that when I'm running a full desktop environment and I'll have to do a REISUB or pull the plug. At the moment, I have Arch Linux installed and I'm running the Qtile Window Manager on it. I recently tried running the Gnome Desktop on it and the freezing and crashes started again. So I reverted back to Qtile. It also runs good with the Awesome Window Manager.
@@linuxmench2118 do you think that running a VM with windows pulling resources directly would be a bad idea in this situation? I found out recently that is a kernal panic that crashes the pc
Are you dual booting? Do you have an Nvidia Graphics card? Are you thinking of reinstalling Windows and running Linux in a virtual machine? If the Nvidia card is causing the problem, I don't know if running a Linux VM in Windows will help. You would have to try it. You should only consider running a Linux VM inside Windows if you have at least 8gb of ram.
Ya no importa destruí mi vieja lapto, es estupido se supone que es para pc de bajos recursos y que apenas instalar el ISO el CPU este al 100% es una tonteria, un completo asco linux
Did you try the advice in the video? How long were you running at 100% cpu? Did you burn out, damage your cpu? This shouldn't have happened. If the cpu is not damaged, try installing another distribution. Linux Mint with the Awesome Window Manager runs at about 350 to 400mg of ram. Arch Linux with Awesome runs even lower.
